- Hi EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis). For the past 6-7 years, we have regularly noted that this is a “Clash of Civilizations” between the West and East. In this titanic clash, the West’s steady aim is to destroy family values and the institutions that support these values. One of them is adherence to religious values and faith. Since his ascent to power in 1999, President Putin has applied a certain course that supports these values. This is one of the main reasons the West has gone to War with him. It is not simply the greed for Russia’s vast natural resources. However, moving away from traditional values has made many people unhappy, and this is the opportunity that Russia now grabbed by offering an easy way to citizenship to all who would like to live there.

Putin has decided that Russia is going to be a ‘safe haven’ for people who want to trade liberal Western ways for Russian ‘moral values’
- Putin has signed a decree that Russia will welcome foreigners who want to escape Western liberal ideals.
- Applicants may include those from countries unaligned with “Russian spiritual and moral values.”
- The application process has been simplified, and visas will be issued as soon as next month.
Russia, in many ways an authoritarian state, has designated itself as a “safe haven” for citizens of Western countries looking to escape “destructive neoliberal ideas.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree that Moscow will assist any foreign nationals who want to apply for temporary residence in Russia “outside the quota approved by the Russian government and without providing documents confirming their knowledge of the Russian language, Russian history and basic laws,” Russian state media reported Monday.
People interested in temporary residency may apply for visas through a simplified and expedited process. Russia will begin issuing three-month visas as early as next month.
They can request residency based on the rejection of their home countries’ “destructive neoliberal ideals,” which differ from “traditional Russian spiritual and moral values.” Russia is expected to produce a list of which countries are included in this exception, TASS said in its report on the new decree.
Praise for Russia has been a common occurrence among some prominent figures on the right, including former President Donald Trump, who has often spoken positively about Putin. Others have parroted Russian talking points, while others have celebrated some elements of Russian society.
In February, after giving the Russian leader a platform to spread misinformation about the war in Ukraine, former Fox News personality Tucker Carlson, went on to praise aspects of Russian society, calling it “shocking” and “disturbing” how much “nicer” Moscow was than any city in the US. He said his position was still pro-America, though.
Others influential in the online space have also shown varying degrees of admiration for Russian society as Putin tries to present Russia as a place where, as Russian state media said, “traditional values reign supreme” and condemn Western ideals.
Rhetoric of this nature has shown up in the Russian leader’s speeches. In 2022, Putin criticized the West as “satanic,” arguing that it had rejected “moral norms” and “traditional” values. And in his Victory Day speech in 2023, he attacked “Western globalist elites” for what he said was the destruction of “family and traditional values that make a person human.”
Russia’s new visa policies focused on turning the country into some kind of “safe haven” appear rooted in this kind of thinking.

Nick says and I quote “the opportunity that Russia now grabbed by offering an easy way to citizenship to all who would like to live there.”. There are many pro family, pro religion people on this site. Let us know when any of you decide to go to Russia to live. Don’t just mouth anti-Western blabbering. Follow up on it. In Greece they say “Here’s Rhodes, here’s your jump”. It is meant for someone who was bragging that when he was in Rhodes. he jumped further than any one else. So, the person who was listening invited him to jump right then and there, as if they were in Rhodes.
There are already many westerners that have moved there… Look it up… But the way things go it will not be a matter of choice for most people: If the globalists “win” (the quotation marks mean actually “steal” the election as they have done in the past) this November and start cancelling free speech, and imposing wokism all over, then a first/prime choice would be to move south as the nation will be divided in North/South and if this does not work move elsewhere. In this elsewhere Russia has already been an attractive choice as their way of life is very Western-like, they are Orthodox and above all they are traditionalist in values. Not to mention that they offer plenty of job opportunities and plenty of real money which they do not need to “print”.
Nick
Please, answer this one question. If the “globalists” had won the 2020 election by stealing it, then, why did they not muzzle free speech as soon as they assumed power? Why wait until 2024 election to do that? Why let anyone dilute their victory by asserting that they stole the election, while if they were smart, they would have sent the FBI to arrest anyone that claimed such a scenario?
FBI has already arrested many Americans faking a “reason”… and so we now have more political prisoners than Russia – which we accuse for authoritarianism on every occasion. With such practices why are wondering about stolen elections and the rest? As for the globalists I could define them for you in so many ways I can make your head spin. How about those “banisters” who control every central bank on the planet except the central banks of the BRICS+5 and the countries who are interested to join… How about the World economic forum participants who obviously include the banisters? How about the warmongers and the military industrial complex who help the banksters increase their wealth? Let me stop here before we expand beyond certain limits. But they are the exact same people who created the war against Russia because they wanted to steal its wealth.
OK Understood. Things could be as bad as you’re describing them. There are others that certainly have more power than us. And anyone who has power, is reluctant to give it up. I don’t argue that point.
Let’s look at the banisetrs who are controlling those banks. Someone has to control banks. They’re not going to operate on their own. Someone has to be at the helm. Some are dishonest. There’s been plenty of bank scandals in the past. Can’t argue that point. Buit don’t you think that its part of human nature, to keep wanting more profits? That’s why we have laws that limit interest on loans. Even on credit cards. The stock market is regulated. Plenty have gone to prison for cheating.
Nick. The world is not perfect. But suggesting that there’s anyone politician, from any party, that somehow he is so honest and capable, that he would be able to run the world without the banisetrs or whoever else is “enslaving” is wishful thinking. Its not reality.
I’m not rich. I worked hard, I have a family, a house in the suburbs, with a pool, a car for me and my wife. My kids are grown up and with a family of their own. I don’t feel that the banks stole my money. No one threatened me with prison for what I espouse. Things have improved also. I’m self employed. I had to pay for my health insurance. Plus there were pre-existant condition exclusion. I felt I was robbed by the medical establishment. But Obama took care of that. Now, millions of Americans have affordable health insurance. Is your experience so much different than mine, that you believe you were taken advantage of?
It’s not about the banking system that is a necessary business like all others. But about the “ownership” of the money supply that has largely been stolen by most of the governments of the Western world. Why for example should the Central Bank of Greece be owned by the Rothchilds? This is precisely where much of the problem lies. I am not a specialist on these issues but I don’t understand ONE reason why our federal reserve system be owned by any private banker. And I will NEVER understand and justify why Obama in 2008 bailed out the banks. I am in business like you and I clearly remember that suddenly in 2008 even American Express was given a couple of billion $$, while they were not at risk, and at the same time cut my credit lines to half and raised the interest rates they charged me!! If me and you had acted as irresponsibly as the bankers acted before the 2008 collapse we would be led to bankruptcy. There is absolutely no reason for the banks to be bailed. The government should have let them fail while saving the people’s deposits.
Nick
You’re saying that America has more political prisoners than Russia. Where do you base that assertion? On Trump’s words for the Jan 6th “hostages”? Do you feel that they shouldn’t have been imprisoned? All or some of them?
With every day that goes by we see new evidence that the Jan 6 events were a setup by the Democrat leadership and the three letter agencies. The fact remains that they did no damage by entering the “people’s house” and they should simply be fined symbolically and not put through hell. The way they were treated is purely “Soviet style” justice.
Kudos to Putin for upholding family values and Christian Orthodoxy!
Next is a truce in the Civil war with Ukraine
AS PEACE IS PREFERABLE TO A BARBARIC WAR AMONG CIVILIZED PEOPLE!
True or false?
“What happened to Americans who moved to the USSR during the Great Depression?
Gulag imprisonment and executions?
By 1937, many of the Americans were arrested alongside untold numbers of Soviet citizens. Some were executed. Others were sent to “corrective labor” camps in the Gulag where they were worked to death.”
Let us not forget Putin pushed the Convid vaccinations as people protested.
Although very tempted to pack my bags, I wonder, is the grass always greener on the other side…..
Action actor Steven Segal moved to Russia years ago. He’s received much negative press for it.
