We all complain about the lack of real investments in Greece.  Helleniscope has lauded the recent investments in the last ten years or so of big American Corporations such as Tesla, Google, and Microsoft – all taking advantage of the highly trained young Greeks endowed with the Hellenic DNA and the unbelievable intelligence and inventiveness of the “Greek Mind”. And we have all chastised the bureaucracy and corruption that are holding the country back and forcing generation after generation to emigrate.

But this is corruption to the greatest extent one has ever seen!! As a result of the so much discussed inability of the West and the NATO countries to produce ammunition (very visible in Ukraine and the main cause of the West’s defeat there) the US government proposed a huge (over $2 billion) investment in the existing Greek Defense industry (EAS) to expand their ammunition production.  For months on end, the most corrupt government in the history of Greece, led by the Mitsotakis Mafia family, is doing everything possible to undermine the project!! And Greece is running the risk this money to be invested in Albania or even Turkey!! The prime minister himself was informed of the proposal and has first hand knowledge of the whole project! 

Alas, it seems that corrupt politicians consider it easier to pocket money when arms and ammo are purchased by private corporations abroad…

The revelation about the US proposal to Greece that will give the Greek Defense Industry a breath of fresh air is causing a stir, however government circles seem to be putting a “triplepod” on this opportunity, with the risk that the Turks or Albanians will ultimately benefit. 

As Christos Mazanitis reports on enikos.gr, the US has sent a new letter to the Greek government, pushing to proceed with the production of 1 million missiles for the US armed forces . The investment of 2 billion euros, an investment that will give rise to the Hellenic Defense Systems (EAS) , however the USA has not yet received a positive response!

According to enikos.gr, the letter has reached the Maximos Palace as well as the Finance and National Defense ministries , with the Americans pointing out through the Embassy the strategic, defense and industrial cooperation.

As mentioned in the proposal addressed to Kyriakos Mitsotakis , there is an urgent need for the immediate start of production of 1 55mm projectiles (preparation of the M107 barrel of the projectiles before loading, loading of the barrels with TNT, performing X-ray inspection, painting and marking and packaging of the produced projectiles) , to meet the needs of the US Army and other countries – except the EU).

The above works ensure not only profitability for our Defense Systems but also economic and geopolitical benefits. 

The government’s silence has caused intense irritation and already many see purpose behind the inaction. ” At a time when money is literally raining in the world defense industry due to the war in Ukraine but also in the Middle East, it is strange how some in Greece are holding… they want them as their convenience store , through which they will be able to access European subsidies” point out circles of workers who contacted enikos.gr.

US fury – Will turn to Turkey or Albania if taunting continues

In communication between the media and the Ministry of National Defense , the agencies declared themselves incompetent and referred to the government. At the same time, there is irritation on the US side as well, with sources stating that if the teasing continues, then they will withdraw the proposal and will turn to factories in Turkey or Albania for their implementation !

At the same time, the Ministry of National Defense is proposing the oral tender for the contract registered to the Czech-Slovak joint venture, with the workers complaining that no one knows where the specific missiles end up.

It is worth noting that it causes a great impression, as emphasized in the report, the fact that the US proposal, which has also been communicated to the EAS Board of Directors, is not included in the presentation of the topics of Monday’s Board of Directors meeting.

The indifference and silence regarding this specific proposal is in complete contrast to the promises of Kyriakos Mitsotakis regarding the upliftment of the Greek EAS restructuring industry!

Σάλο προκαλεί η αποκάλυψη για την πρόταση των ΗΠΑ στην Ελλάδα που θα δώσει ανάσα στην Ελληνική Αμυντική Βιομηχανία, ωστόσο κύκλοι της κυβέρνησης φαίνεται ότι βάζουν «τρικλοποδιά» σε αυτή την ευκαιρία, με κίνδυνο να ωφεληθούν τελικά οι Τούρκοι ή Αλβανοί. 

Όπως αναφέρει ο Χρήστος Μαζανίτης στο enikos.gr, οι ΗΠΑ έχουν αποστείλει νέα επιστολή στην ελληνική κυβέρνηση, πιέζοντας να προχωρήσει η παραγωγή 1 εκατομμυρίου βλημάτων για τις αμερικανικές ένοπλες δυνάμεις. Η επένδυση ύψους 2 δισ. ευρώ, μια επένδυση θα δώσει ανάταση στα Ελληνικά Αμυντικά Συστήματα (ΕΑΣ), ωστόσο οι ΗΠΑ δεν έχουν λάβει ακόμα θετική απάντηση!

Σύμφωνα με το enikos.gr η επιστολή έχει φτάσει στο Μέγαρο Μαξίμου καθώς και στα υπουργεία Οικονομικών και Εθνικής Άμυνας, με τους Αμερικάνους να επισημαίνουν μέσω της Πρεσβείας την στρατηγική, αμυντική και βιομηχανική συνεργασία.

Όπως αναφέρεται στην πρόταση με αποδέκτη τον Κυριάκο Μητσοτάκη, υπάρχει επείγουσα ανάγκη για άμεση έναρξη παραγωγής βλημάτων 155mm (προετοιμασία του κορμού M107 των βλημάτων πριν την γόμωση, γόμωση των κορμών με ΤΝΤ, εκτέλεση ακτινογραφικού ελέγχου, βαφής και επισημάνσεων και συσκευασία των παραγόμενων βλημάτων), προς κάλυψη αναγκών του Αμερικανικού Στρατού και άλλων χωρών – πλην ΕΕ).

Οι παραπάνω εργασίες εξασφαλίζουν όχι μόνο κερδοφορία για τα Αμυντικά μας Συστήματα αλλά και οικονομικά και γεωπολιτικά οφέλη. 

Η αφωνία της κυβέρνησης έχει προκαλέσει έντονο εκνευρισμό και ήδη πολλοί βλέπουν σκοπιμότητες πίσω από την αδράνεια. «Την περίοδο που στην παγκόσμια αμυντική βιομηχανία κυριολεκτικά βρέχει λεφτά με αφορμή τον πόλεμο στην Ουκρανία αλλά και στην Μέση Ανατολή, είναι περίεργο πώς ορισμένοι στην Ελλάδα κρατούν… ομπρέλα, προκειμένου τα ΕΑΣ να εκτελέσουν ένα πολύ μικρό υποκατασκευαστικό έργο, με κάποιους επιχειρηματικούς κύκλους να τα θέλουν ως παραμάγαζό τους, μέσω του οποίου θα μπορούν να έχουν πρόσβαση σε ευρωπαϊκές επιδοτήσεις» επισημαίνουν κύκλοι εργαζομένων που επικοινώνησαν με το enikos.gr.

Οργή των ΗΠΑ – Θα στραφούν σε Τουρκία ή Αλβανία αν συνεχιστεί ο εμπαιγμός

Σε επικοινωνία του μέσου με το υπουργείο Εθνικής Άμυνας, οι φορείς δήλωσαν αναρμόδιοι και παρέπεμψαν στην κυβέρνηση. Την ίδια στιγμή, εκνευρισμός επικρατεί και στην πλευρά των ΗΠΑ, με πηγές να δηλώνουν ότι αν συνεχιστεί ο εμπαιγμός,  τότε θα αποσύρουν την πρόταση και θα στραφούν για την υλοποίησή τους προς εργοστάσια στην Τουρκία ή την Αλβανία!

Παράλληλα, το υπουργείο Εθνικής Άμυνας προτάσσει τον προφορικό διαγωνισμό για τη σύμβαση που έχει καταχωρηθεί στην κοινοπραξία Τσέχων – Σλοβάκων, με τους εργαζόμενους να καταγγέλλουν ότι κανείς δεν γνωρίζει που καταλήγουν τα συγκεκριμένα βλήματα.

Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι προκαλεί μεγάλη εντύπωση όπως τονίζεται στο ρεπορτάζ, το γεγονός ότι η πρόταση των ΗΠΑ που έχει κοινοποιηθεί και στο ΔΣ των ΕΑΣ δεν περιλαμβάνεται στην παρουσίαση των θεμάτων της συνεδρίασης του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου της Δευτέρας.

Η αδιαφορία και αποσιώπηση για την συγκεκριμένη πρόταση, έρχεται σε πλήρη αντίθεση με τις υποσχέσεις του Κυριάκου Μητσοτάκη περί ανάτασης της ελληνικής βιομηχανίας εξυγίανσης των ΕΑΣ!
