In these hours, more than 20,000 Greek Orthodox, among them many schoolchildren and students, are trapped in Aleppo, surrounded by religious armed killers. Their only hope of salvation, the Kurdish militias that still control some districts of the city, but are not numerically sufficient, nor do they have heavy weapons to stop the Islamic rampage.
Everything I am describing to you has been developing since noon on Friday. The Greek Orthodox of Syria are making desperate appeals through X and other social media to the Greek Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister, and Patriarch Bartholomew. They are asking for a public intervention, an announcement, a practical manifestation of interest from the Greek state or the Church, a consolation from the motherland and their spiritual fathers, an indication at least that there is someone out there watching their drama.
Except that the Patriarchate is condemned to a permanent hostage and blesses the operations of the Turkish army, while the Greek government is also in a kind of semi-lethargic dependency relationship with Turkey, which does not allow it to “quick reflexes” for Greek communities abroad.

Αληθινοί ζηλωτές οι ξεχασμένοι χριστιανοί της Ανατολής, οι Ελληνορθόδοξοι του Λεβάντε, κουβαλούν μέσα τους τη φλόγα της πίστης, αλλά και τον μύθο της βυζαντινής κληρονομιάς.
Αρκετοί από αυτούς δεν μιλούν ελληνικά, αλλά νιώθουν πιο Έλληνες από τους Έλληνες.
Τις ώρες αυτές, δεκάδες χιλιάδες Ελληνορθόδοξοι στο Χαλέπι, από αυτούς που ακριβώς σας περιέγραψα, βρίσκονται στο έλεος των κανιβάλων του Ισλαμικού Κράτους, οι οποίοι με τη βοήθεια της Τουρκίας, τις πλάτες της απερχόμενης διοίκησης Μπάιντεν στις ΗΠΑ, αλλά πιθανώς και υπό την ανοχή του Ισραήλ εξαπέλυσαν σαρωτική επίθεση, πιάνοντας στον ύπνο τις φρουρές των πιστών στο πρόεδρο Άσαντ συριακών στρατευμάτων και τους λιγοστούς Ρώσους εκπαιδευτές τους.
Η επίθεση ήταν καλά σχεδιασμένη και καθόλου άσχετη με το ευαίσθητο χρονικό διάστημα που διανύουμε, τις λίγες εβδομάδες δηλαδή πριν από την παράδοση της εξουσίας και την ορκωμοσία του Τραμπ στις ΗΠΑ. Εντάσσεται χωρίς καμία αμφιβολία στην προσπάθεια δημιουργίας τετελεσμένων σε πολλά μέτωπα του πλανήτη, πριν αναλάβει καθήκοντα ο νέος Αμερικανός πρόεδρος.
Στην περίπτωση της Συρίας, το βαθύ κράτος της Ουάσινγκτον, που συνεργάζεται άριστα με τις μυστικές υπηρεσίες της Τουρκίας, ήθελε να προλάβει την «αλλαγή φρουράς» στα αμερικανικά υπουργεία Εξωτερικών και Άμυνας, όπως και στο Εθνικό Συμβούλιο Ασφαλείας των ΗΠΑ, όπου αναμένεται να τοποθετηθούν πρόσωπα φιλικά διακείμενα στους Κούρδους αυτονομιστές και εξαιρετικά εχθρικά στους μουσουλμάνους εξτρεμιστές που σήμερα παρελαύνουν με σημαίες του ISIS στις συνοικίες του Χαλεπίου και άλλων γειτονικών πόλεων.
Αυτοί οι τελευταίοι έχουν ήδη αρχίσει να επιδίδονται στις γνωστές ωμότητες, που αποτελούν σήμα κατατεθέν της πολεμικής τους δράσης. Εκτελούν χωρίς τον παραμικρό δισταγμό άοπλους Σύρους αιχμαλώτους που κλαίνε σαν μικρά παιδιά, σφάζουν αμάχους χωρίς την παραμικρή αφορμή και βέβαια ποδοπατούν και βεβηλώνουν οτιδήποτε «χριστιανικό» βρεθεί στο διάβα τους.
Αυτές τις ώρες, περισσότεροι από 20.000 Ελληνορθόδοξοι, μεταξύ τους πολλοί μαθητές και φοιτητές, βρίσκονται εγκλωβισμένοι στο Χαλέπι, περικυκλωμένοι από τους θρησκόληπτους οπλισμένους δολοφόνους. Μοναδική τους ελπίδα σωτηρίας, οι κουρδικές πολιτοφυλακές που ελέγχουν ακόμη κάποιες συνοικίες της πόλης, αλλά δεν επαρκούν αριθμητικά, ούτε διαθέτουν βαρύ οπλισμό για να αναχαιτίσουν την ισλαμική λαίλαπα.
Όλα αυτά που σας περιγράφω εξελίσσονται από το μεσημέρι της Παρασκευής. Οι Ελληνορθόδοξοι της Συρίας απευθύνουν απεγνωσμένες εκκλήσεις μέσω του Χ και άλλων μέσων κοινωνικής δικτύωσης στον Έλληνα πρωθυπουργό, στον υπουργό Εξωτερικών, στον Πατριάρχη Βαρθολομαίο. Ζητούν μια δημόσια παρέμβαση, μια ανακοίνωση, μια έμπρακτη εκδήλωση ενδιαφέροντος του ελληνικού κράτους ή της Εκκλησίας. Μια παρηγοριά δηλαδή από τη μάνα πατρίδα και τους πνευματικούς τους πατέρες. Μια ένδειξη έστω ότι υπάρχει κάποιος απέξω που παρακολουθεί το δράμα τους.
Μόνο που το Πατριαρχείο είναι καταδικασμένο σε διαρκή ομηρία και ευλογεί τις επιχειρήσεις του τουρκικού στρατού, ενώ η ελληνική κυβέρνηση τελεί επίσης σε ένα είδος ημιληθαργικής σχέσης εξάρτησης με την Τουρκία, που δεν της επιτρέπει «γρήγορα ανακλαστικά» για ελληνικές κοινότητες του εξωτερικού.
Κάποια στιγμή, φαντάζομαι, αυτός ο ανεκδιήγητος που κρατά το τιμόνι (τρόπος του λέγειν) της ελληνικής διπλωματίας θα βγει από το ραχάτι του και θα βγάλει μια τυπική ανακοίνωση, για τα μάτια του κόσμου, όπως εκείνη για την πυραυλική δοκιμή στη… Βόρεια Κορέα. Ο πρωθυπουργός κωλύεται ασφαλώς να αναμιχθεί, γιατί ακόμη γιορτάζει την ατμόσφαιρα αποθέωσης των εγκαινίων του πλημμυρισμένου μετρό στη Θεσσαλονίκη, και η Πρόεδρος προτιμά να ταΐσει τη γατούλα της, γιατί αυτά με τους… χριστιανούς της Ανατολής τα βρίσκει εξόχως αναχρονιστικά.
∆εν θα μπω στον πειρασμό να σας πω τι θα είχε κάνει σοβαρό ευρωπαϊκό κράτος, έστω μικρομεσαίου μεγέθους, σε ανάλογη περίπτωση, αν δηλαδή κινδύνευαν ομοεθνείς, ομόθρησκοι και ομογάλακτοι (γιατί αυτό είναι οι Έλληνες της Συρίας) σε κάποια γωνιά της υφηλίου. Εμείς, που σίγουρα δεν είμαστε ούτε σοβαρό ούτε ανεξάρτητο κράτος, ας τους προσφέρουμε τουλάχιστον αυτό που ξέρουμε να δίνουμε, χρόνια τώρα, αβασάνιστα και αλόγιστα στους σφαγείς τους: ελεύθερη είσοδο και δικαίωμα εγκατάστασης στη χώρα. Γιατί οι διωκόμενοι Ελληνορθόδοξοι της Συρίας είναι κανονικοί πρόσφυγες. ∆εν υποδύονται τους κατατρεγμένους, όπως οι ανήλικοι-ενήλικοι μαχητές του ριζοσπαστικού Ισλάμ, που παίρνουν αφειδώς το άσυλο και τα επιδόματα για να έρθει κάποια στιγμή η ώρα να μετατρέψουν την Αθήνα σε… Χαλέπι.

There already are Christian troops left behind by Donald Trump in Syria, as a matter of fact they have 1000 troops in 4 bases occupying illegally the oil and gas fields of Syria and stealing their oil and gas and as Trump stated representing compensation for protecting the People of Syria from “Get this” the Terrorist resurgence in Syria! So Nick.. why is Donnie, not demanding that those troops and more Christian troops of America fulfill their obligation and bomb their own Terrorist army!

The OCs in Aleppo and Damascus are in eminent danger. May God watch over them. Hopefully the rebels will be busy fighting each other and leave the Christians alone. Shame on all the powers of the world that are not speaking out and try to assist them and protect them. They are the martyrs of our days.
