The fact that the Turks are so upset shows the significance of it. Why are they upset? Because they had signed an ILLEGAL agreement for the delineation of EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zones) between Turkey and Libya – only that this agreement refers to the Eastern part of Libya where eneral Haftar is their enenmy, while they have some influence on the Western part. What is the Mitsotakis government doing? They are sitting idly and watching… Greece’s reaction to this serious issue is absolutely underwheling and only the intervention of other powers (in this case Russia) would save the Greek interests… Just a look at this map will convince you: The Turks “jump” ove Crete and Kassos and Karpathos to claim borders with Libya!…

A Libyan military official said that since the fall of Assad , six Russian cargo planes have delivered military equipment, originating from Russia and Syria , to the al-Khadim airbase in eastern Libya .
Flight data shows increased activity, with at least four Il-76 aircraft flying from Moscow or Minsk to Benghazi , some stopping for public use of a site near their destination.
The revelation of the New York Times has freaked out the Turks who strongly condemn this particular move by Russia.
Already known for their role, Turkish accounts on the internet have started a campaign and demand the “exemplary punishment of Russia”!
Libya remains divided, with Turkish -backed forces controlling the northwest, including Tripoli, and Kremlin-backed General Khalifa Haftar holding the northeast.
Russian flights to the region have been criticized by Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, who said: ” Libya is not an arena for the combination of international interests ,” warning that more arms transfers threaten peace and security.
