Their lives were destroyed for a “crime” (if we assume it was a crime – 95% of those jailed did not commit any crime AT ALL) that would likely be punished by a fine or a minimal sentence. WHERE WERE YOU THEN, TO NOW HAVE THE RIGHT TO DEMAND “MERCY”??

Here is how I can summarize the criticisms against this “woke” Rev. Budde – (Lord have mercy on her – because she is a lost soul)… And we expect Elpidophoros – if he wants to survive in America – to listen closely and do the exact of her pitiful exaple:
Politicization of the Pulpit: she crossed the line between religious preaching and political critique, emphasizing current political matters rather than biblical teaching.
Progressive Theology: It was a departure from traditional Christian doctrine, especially on issues related to LGBTQ+ rights, gender equality, and inclusion.
She Alienated more than half the country! If her purpose was to unify s she proclaimed she achieved quite the opposite!!
Her focus on Social Justice and prioritizing activism over spiritual nourishment has turned off many faithful Christians and led to the polarization of congregations…

Where was Christ in her speech? No where to be found! She is teaching a new gospel. It’s all about her feelings! She is not a Christian bishop; she is an antichrist bishop! If antichrist would come tomorrow and he’d love all the woke people that she “cares” about, she would warship him. She is a false teacher and should be fired. I think you are referring to leftist Episcopalians. During the Revolutionary War, the Anglican Church of the colonies eschewed the name which tied them inextricably to King George III and his established Church of England. So the colonists – the rebels – renamed the Anglican Church the Episcopal Church. Officially, the Protestant Episcopal Church of the United States of America. George Washington was the most prominent Episcopalian of the time.
As it happens in the United States, the “Anglicans”, as they termed themselves, were the conservative Episcopalians who, beginning 50 years ago, left the Episcopal Church in protest against the ordination of women and of homosexuals, against the marriage of homosexuals, the promotion of abortion, the revision of the Book of Common Prayer, and liberal political positions, and downright heresy. The return to that original monicker was their way of saying that they were the continuing Anglicans who felt it their duty to preserve the old Faith.
Please be careful not to confuse American Anglicans with run of the mill Anglicans overseas.

As it was said, after the “pre-emptive Biden pardons” for 1,000 times more serious crimes or suspected crimes, accepting a pardon is equivalent to accepting one’s guilt. So I do not see the point. They were guilty of a minor crime (99.9% of them) and most they were kept in jail for longer time than rapists.
From another point of view, when BLM activists burned and destroyed and everything else in many inner cities a few years ago. they were celebrated by the Democrats and the Woke elites – including Elpidophoros. It was a political act, and it Trump responded in kind to restore a feeling of justice in American society. Hopefully we can all move back to the rule of Law and to a sense of fairness and measure from now on. And we will never again allow a minor crime to be politicized and destroy people’s lives.

This exact sort of thing has been going on the Western churches for many, many years now. It was one reason I came East 34 years ago, and that was my very first exposure to Biblical truth being preached from a pulpit. We Orthodox have to guard zealously from this perspective ever entering our churches, especially under the likes of Elipdoktonos.
Unfortunately, with the pope allowing gay priests, we will most likely see more of those speeches that have nothing to do with God. We may soon assist to mass conversions to orthodoxy or mass brainwashing. This “bishop” has no respect for the president or our country and doesn’t bring unity.
The “bishop” is not the only one confused about faith. Biden is, too! You can’t make this stuff up!
