Prince Nikolaos of Greece set to marry family friend imminently as date is revealed
HELLO! Greece confirmed the royal’s engagement to Chrysí Vardinogianni in January 2025
News of Greece’s Prince Nikolaos’ engagement to family friend Chrysí Vardinogianni may have only just come to light, but they are set to marry very soon.
Royal engagements are traditionally fairly short, with just a few months between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Prince and Princess of Wales’ announcements and their big days.

© Getty ImagesNikolaos and Chrysí will likely have a team of staff helping to pull together the intricate details of their royal wedding in such a short turnaround. While we wait for information to be released by the royal family, fans are eager to see whether it will be a low-key, intimate celebration or one filled with the appropriate pomp and circumstance that comes with all royal weddings.
The announcement comes just months after Nikolaos’ sister Princess Theodora married American lawyer Matthew Kumar at the Metropolis Greek Orthodox Cathedral following a six-year engagement, after postponing their nuptials twice.
In April 2024, Nikolaos confirmed he was ending his 14-year marriage with Princess Tatiana.

“Both express the difficulty of this decision, the deep appreciation and respect they have for each other, but also the love with which they have walked all these years.

They will continue to live and work in Greece, a place where they both feel at home. The family will always be at their side. Thank you very much for your respect and discretion.”
Tatiana opened up about her year of “uncertainty and pain” to Greek publication BHMagazino, stating: “I learned the importance of allowing myself to feel, cry, manage emotions and move forward with self-compassion.”
Chrysí, meanwhile, split from director Konstantinos Markoulakis in December 2023. She has long been a close friend of the Greek royal family, but details of her love story with Prince Nikolaos have remained private.

«Τον αρραβώνα του Πρίγκιπα Νικολάου με την κ. Χρυσή Βαρδινογιάννη ανακοίνωσε το Γραφείο Τύπου της Ελληνικής Βασιλικής Οικογένειας. Σύμφωνα με την υπεύθυνη επικοινωνίας του γραφείου, ο Πρίγκιπας Νικόλαος και η κ. Χρυσή Βαρδινογιάννη θα ενωθούν με τα ιερά δεσμά του στην ελληνική πρωτεύουσα, την Αθήνα. Η ημερομηνία τέλεσης του γάμου και περαιτέρω λεπτομέρειες θα ανακοινωθούν εν ευθέτω χρόνω από το γραφείο της Ελληνικής Βασιλικής Οικογένειας», αναφέρει ο Ανδρέας Μέγκος, φίλος και συγγραφέας της οικογένειας.
Ο γάμος ετοιμάζεται και πρόκειται να πραγματοποιηθεί στην Αθήνα. Όσο για την ημερομηνία και περαιτέρω λεπτομέρειες θα ανακοινωθούν εν ευθέτω χρόνω, αναφέρει η ανακοίνωση. Σύμφωνα με αποκλειστικές πληροφορίες ωστόσο, ο γάμος θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 7/2 ενώ ενισχύονται παράλληλα οι φήμες περί εγκυμοσύνης.

Η Χρυσή Βαρδινογιάννη βρέθηκε πρόσφατα στο πλευρό του Νικόλαου, στο γεύμα της οικογένειας του τέως βασιλιά Κωνσταντίνου για τα δύο χρόνια από τον θάνατό του. Η οικογένεια, μετά το τρισάγιο στο Τατόι, στο οποίο παρέστησαν μόνον η Άννα Μαρία, τρία από τα παιδιά του τέως βασιλιά και δύο στενοί φίλοι, παρέθεσε γεύμα στο εστιατόριο «21» στην Κηφισιά σε φιλικά τους πρόσωπα.
Ανάμεσά τους ήταν η Χρυσή Βαρδινογιάννη, μαζί με την οποία αποχώρησε από το εστιατόριο ο Νικόλαος μετά το τέλος του γεύματος. Η Χρυσή Βαρδινογιάννη είχε, επίσης, παραστεί στον γάμο της Θεοδώρας πριν από μερικούς μήνες στην Αθήνα.

Η Χρυσή Βαρδινογιάννη ήταν παντρεμένη με τον τραγουδιστή Νίνο, με τον οποίο έχει αποκτήσει δύο παιδιά, ενώ στη συνέχεια είχε μακροχρόνια σχέση με τον ηθοποιό και σκηνοθέτη Κωνσταντίνο Μαρκουλάκη, με τον οποίο χώρισαν πρόσφατα.
Ο Νικόλαος ήταν παντρεμένος με την Τατιάνα Μπλάτνικ, με την οποία ανακοίνωσαν πέρυσι τον χωρισμό τους μετά από 14 χρόνια γάμου. H Τατιάνα διατηρεί καλές σχέσεις με την οικογένεια του πρώην συζύγου της καθώς το καλοκαίρι εθεάθη να συνοδεύει την πρώην πεθερά της, Άννα Μαρία, σε εκδήλωση στο Καλλιμάρμαρο.
