Outcry over Karystianou being “cut” from the parade in New York – The government denies it (Video – Photo)

Outcry has been caused by the news that while Maria Karystianou was invited to the March 25 parade in New York by the competent committee of the Greek diaspora, after the mass demonstrations over the crime in Tempi she was “cut”. In fact, according to a relevant report by “Ef.Syn” newspaper, phone calls were made through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and intense pressure was exerted on local and party figures to withdraw the invitation to Ms. Karystianou.

Σάλος για «κόψιμο» Καρυστιανού από την παρέλαση στη Νέα Υόρκη – Το αρνείται η κυβέρνηση (Video – Photo)

Σάλος έχει προκληθεί από την είδηση ότι ενώ η Μαρία Καρυστιανού ήταν καλεσμένη στην παρέλαση της 25ης Μαρτίου στη Νέα Υόρκη από την αρμόδια επιτροπή της ομογένειας, μετά τις μαζικές διαδηλώσεις για το έγκλημα των Τεμπών «κόπηκε». Μάλιστα, σύμφωνα με σχετικό ρεπορτάζ της Εφ.Συν έπεσαν τηλέφωνα μέσω του υπουργείου Εξωτερικών και ασκήθηκαν έντονες πιέσεις σε τοπικούς και κομματικούς παράγοντες ώστε να παρθεί πίσω η πρόσκληση προς την κα Καρυστιανού.

Σε σχετική ερώτηση του Documentonews για το εάν υπήρχε κυβερνητική παρέμβαση για να «κοπεί» η κ. Καρυστιανού από την παρέλαση, διότι είναι ενοχλητική στην κυβέρνηση του Κυριάκου Μητσοτάκη, ο κυβερνητικός εκπρόσωπος είπε στην ενημέρωση των πολιτικών συντακτών ότι «θεωρώ αδιανόητο να έχει γίνει κάποια παρέμβαση και θεωρώ κάτι τέτοιο το οποίο γράφεται δεν έχει σχέση με την πραγματικότητα, μπορώ μάλιστα να κάνω και σχετικό ερώτημα, αλλά πιστεύω ότι είναι μέρος της ευρύτερης προπαγάνδας. Αλίμονο εάν ένας άνθρωπος που δίνει μία μάχη για το παιδί του, γιατί έχασε το παιδί του να είναι ενοχλητικός για οποιαδήποτε κυβέρνηση. Αυτά είναι αδιανόητα να ακούγονται καν. Όπως έχει πει και ο πρωθυπουργός και όπως πιστεύει κάθε άνθρωπος, είτε έχει κάποιο πολιτικό αξίωμα ή όχι, σκύβουμε το κεφάλι μπροστά σε οποιονδήποτε συγγενή που αγωνίζεται για να βρει το δίκιο για το χαμό του παιδιού του».
