I was deluged by phone calls and emails about the “crazy Trump Gaza Plan” by many of you… I am truly disappointed in you!! After reading Helleniscope for years, you should have understood that what Trump theatrically says and what he intends to do (and what he finally ends up doing) are totally different things.
Let’s start by saying that he was reading a prepared statement by some advisor, already something unlikely for Trump. Then let’s take his “crazy” statements on foreign policy one by one:
- He threatened Panama but ended up having Panama cancel the best part of its treaty with China!
- He threatens Canada and Mexico only to end up getting a massive deal with both countries controlling their border with their troops and expenses: No illegal migration and no fentanyl.
- He threatens to take over Greenland, and (while the threat is still open) he has already achieved the US’s goal of establishing several bases in Greenland instead of one right now.
- He achieved a deal with Venezuela for the return of the criminal illegals.
- He achieved a deal with El Salvador for the imprisonment there of thousands of criminal gang members…
The above was accomplished in two weeks!! Please allow me to take a breath…
All this is happening as:
- He is dismantling USAID, with a $40 billion annual budget and 10,000 mostly useless employees!! A small example: 30% of the NY Times income came from USAID!! Over 6,000 “journalists” globally and about 700 media were funded by USAID!! (I wonder how many are in Greece? And who? We will indeed find out…)
- He is dismantling the Department of Education with a $268 billion budget and 4,400 employees!! I can only imagine what revolutionary changes would happen if all this money were given as vouchers to each student who could attend a private, charter, or parochial school!!! We will never discuss again if, for example, St. Demetrios’ School in Astoria has enough money!!
- He is almost done confirming all his cabinet and other officials through the Senate!!
- He has signed countless executive orders putting America first!!
- And much more that does not fit here!!
In the middle of all this, the last thing Trump wants to do is to open a front with the powerful Jewish Lobby (AIPAC), including some of his wealthiest donors, which has literally bought the whole Congress!! BUT,
- The Gaza ceasefire agreement that his (Jewish) real estate friend from New York, Steve Witkoff, has imposed, threatening Netanyahu with a knife on his throat, IS STILL GOING ON!! Tens of thousands of Palestinians are moving to the north of Gaza, back to their homes!! The hostages and prisoners are being released!! And Netanyahu’s wife faced possible charges!!
- Iran is about to sign a deal not to develop nuclear weapons – which is already part of Iran’s defense pact with Russia!!
- Do you really believe that Trump is sincerely pushing for his “Gaza Condominiums Plan” that is opposed by a) All Arab States, b) Turkey and Iran, c) Russia, and d) All of Europe!! If you believe that, what can I say? Any analysis is useless for you…
Ultimately, Trump is bound first to sign the non-nuclear treaty with Iran – which is already almost on paper… This treaty with Iran, on the surface, will disarm Iran, but in essence, it will disarm the Zionists of their expansionist hallucinations. And hopefully, it will open the way for a “two-state solution” for Palestine, supported by all powers for so many years…

The picture on the top of this article says it all. ( A picture is worth a million words- τα πολλά λόγια είναι φτώχεια, πού λέει και ο λαός….).
Mr. Netanyahu ( a convicted criminal by the International Criminal Court for war crimes), responsible for the death of thousands innocent civilians ( mostly women and children) was the first State leader (!) to visit the newly elected president Donald Trump. The first! Just listen to the warm word exchanges between the two. No need to say more. The thought alone, regardless if it will ever materialize, of displacing an entire country of more than two million people, to make it …..a resort, is disgraceful. This hits the bottom of any basic human concern. Only Nazis could think that way!
We are talking about eradicating a country!
As of the president’s “achievements” in a couple weeks, the future will tell. Right now, with all his “achievements”, his approval rating is at 47% and dropping. Soon, i bellieve, will be th the low 40s.Let’s look at the dismantling of the very basic constitutional principles. Humanity as well.
Democracies, (με την σωστή Ελληνική έννοια) never die.
Mr Stamatakis, there is no reason for you to defend Trump. Trump has proved in his previous presidency with who he is affiliated. He recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, against all UN resolutions, that say it is illegally occupied by Israel. He gave to Israel $38 billions of American taxpayers money as a present, while at the same time he withheld $200 millions that was humanitarian help for the Palestinians.
While Trump he presents himself as a peacemaker, he continues sending free money and weapons to Israel… I guess sending the American taxpayers money to Israel is not a waste of money according to supposedly tight pockets Trump…
And Israelis continue to do what they do since 1948 that their artificial state was created: they kill as many Palestinians they can and they steal their land.
There is a big vacuum in the news, nobody reports all these crimes of Israel. And there is a vacuum in Greek news also, nobody informs the Greek people about their connection with the Palestinians. Even the not so independent Wikipedia admits that the Philistines, the ancestors of the Palestinians, immigrated to Gaza from Crete in 1200 BC.!
And here is an alive proof of the origin of the Palestinians. Their traditional dances who look exactly like the dances of Crete:

I did a couple of posts over a year ago suggesting the Greek roots of the Palestinians!… I am proud of you guys… You are learning fast…
The real forgotten Greeks are the ones in today’s Turkey. Turks originally had not the appearance of the Caucasion characteristics. They were more Mongoloid than European looking. Now, if you visit Western Turkey, you will think that you are in Greece. Turks were not prejudiced when selecting wives. Some could even keep their Christian faith while part of a harem. Of course, their children turned Moslem and therefore lost any Greek consciousness. Plus the great majority of Christian Greeks in Asia Minor Adopted Islam, not out of compulsion, but for advancement and economic reasons. Krete was almost 50% moslem by 1821, all of them former Christian Kretans. If Turks were to take DNA tests, they’ll be shocked at their Greek DNA. Greeks in Greece have no Turkish blood, because it wasn’t smart or safe to convert to Christianity.
My DNA is 52% Greek-Albanian, and 45% Italian, because my one grandfather was Arvanitis, while my other Grandfather was from Naxos, which was a Venetian colony for 3 centuries.
Hey Nick. I was just watching a TV documentary from the Greek TV channel ERT and it had a show on the Turko Kretans of Turkey. They now live in Aivali and also in Syria, and many still speak Greek. One of them took his DNA test and his ancestry is 70% Greek-Kretan. Both his grandmothers were Christian and had married Muslim men and converted to Islam. II guess it wasn’t as much a taboo as we think it would have been. But even those Muslim men’s ancestors were Christian. It was never allowed to be converted to Christianity, by pain of death as an apostate. Those Muslims were removed to Turkey with the exchange of populations. They have passed on their love of Krete to their children and grandchildren
I think we mentioned them before… The Muslim Turks left Crete after 1922 and went to Syria (they are living near the coast)… They are Cretans 100% and they have kept their language and culture and customs… But when we think about Syria we should have keep in mind that this whole area was mostly Greek and later Christian and still today, regardless of their religion, Syrians of all persuasions and faiths are our natural allies – with the prime example of the Kurds… Unfortunately the narrow-minded and treasonous elites of Athens they never tries to keep them close… As Hellenes we need to go back to Hellenic Cosmopolitanism of the three centuries after the death of Alexander the Great, the ideology that gave birth to Christianity… A a matter of fact this type of cosmopolitanism can become the “global ideology” of today, away from hegemonic and exploitative western ideologies.
Greece, with her demographic problem, should have allowed Christian Syrians to settle in Greece in 2015. It would have provided new blood and those Syrians would have become Greek by now.
Greece should have allowed since the fall of communism in 1990 Orthodox Bulgarians, Romanians, Uklrainians, Russians, Georgians etc – including Syrians – to settle in the country. This was the biggest mistake the inept elites who govern the country made in the last 70 years!!
I woke up to a different Trump today. The people of Gaza are still suffering. The children will never get their arms and legs back and the people of Gaza have almost nothing left. Yet Trump is talking to take the little they have left and leave them with nothing and build a resort on the blood and human suffering. Even if he doesn’t go through with it, it is absolutely disgusting that he said it considering their unbelievable loss and torture they had gone through. Would Netanyahu be smiling, if Trump would have proposed the people of Israel would be moved to other countries and Israel would become a resort?
Yes Netanyahu would be pretending he is winning this war in order to avoid jail time… Trump has the upper hand now. Once Iran signs the deal with the US the road will be open for real peace…
The fact that those words even came out of Trump’s mouth is totally despicable! Whether he meant them or not, we already know he’s appeasing his task masters with his pre-written orations.
Palestine and the entire Levant has the buried and scattered bones of our saints, throughout the desert landscapes. Along with the thousands of people being murdered daily, Orthodox churches were annihilated and turned to rubble. God is watching, and I don’t think He is too happy with us. Lord have mercy….I highly doubt that their plans for a Vegas style resort will ever happen. This is sacred ground, and soaked with the blood of martyrs.
I cannot see the Arab nations or Iran going along with the ideas that Trump offered on Gaza.
Trump suggested it because he is creative. Instead, continued Islamic terrorist actions against Israel are likely, if not this year, then surely within the next ten years. Very sad.
What would you do if some lunatic was telling you “Mr. Sakelaris, you have to leave your house and your country, because me and my son in law want to build new houses and make it a tourist destination?” Would you leave?
Do not worry, hater of Israel. The Arabs will keep a major presence in Gaza and will be able to attack Israel again. The world’s Muslims may eventually even drive the small Israeli presence into the sea, just as they did the the enclaves of Greeks and Armenians from another portion of Islam’s chosen area of dominance in 1915-1922. I believe that such a destruction of Israel will make you happy.
John, you’re out of line. The guy doesn’t hate Israel and wants to see it destroyed. He stated the obvious. That Palestinians have been living there for thousands of years. Why should they leave? The solution to the Middle East problem is intractable. Simplistic non-solutions as yours are not helping.
Yes, the Christians were ethnic cleansed from Asia Minor, but it was an exchange of populations. The Muslims were also ethnic cleansed from Greece. That can not be done in Israel, because the Jews are too strong to be thrown into the sea and they don’t have a nation to go to, as the Greeks had.
Are the Israelis too strong to be thrown into the sea? At this time, quite so. But weapons and alliances can change and the expansionist desires of world Islam seem unlikely to moderate.
If Islam takes out Israel, Greece and Cyprus will be in danger as well.
Mr. Sakelaris,
I am not a hater of Israel. I am a hater of all genocidal criminals who kill civilians and blow up their houses. You and your AHEPA “brothers” obviously side with these criminals and their prime minister, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity…
Trump has the DNA of a real estate developer. I’m thinking the Palestinians with their well known love of Golf will flock to the Gaza Trump International Golf Club.
It has been decades since the world community gave both Israel and Palestine a home in their common ancestral land. Time and again the Palestinians have launched attacks on their neighbor to take what was not theirs. They have engaged in unspeakable terrorism. No Greek, even in support of Cyprus, could justify what they do to innnocents. In my opinion by their horrific behavior the Palestinians have forfeited their right to Gaza. If the Palestinians ever got control of Jerusalem how long do you think the Christian holy sites would last? From the river to the sea embodies the Palestinian mindset. They will never be content to share. And so they simply cannot remain where they are. Many know it. Trump has the courage to say it out loud.
” If the Palestinians ever got control of Jerusalem how long do you think the Christian holy sites would last? ”
As long as the good Lord allows it. The Christians are persecuted but orthodox jews who spit on orthodox nuns, spit on our orthodox cross, and abuse people in processions and attack the churches. Also Israel is stealing land from the orthodox church, so let’s not pretend they are innocent. THe Patriarch of Jerusalem condemned this actions and those that follow the orthodox news around the world are well aware. “From the river to the sea embodies the Palestinian mindset. They will never be content to share.” Sounds like you are describing Israel, not the Palestinians.
Sandy no one condones the rude behavior of many religious Jews against our clergy. But that is not true persecution. Go look at what the Turks have done in Smyrna in the 1920s, Constantinople in the 1950s and Cyprus in the 1970s. Christians are not safe almost anywhere where there are Muslim majorities. Go see what they have done to our Orthodox Churches in Kosovo. And the Kosovars are not nearly as violent as the Palestinians.
Michael, you are quite right in seeing that the greater danger to Christendom, by far, is Islamic conquest. Oh, we may grumble about some things that the Israelis do to our religious sites, but there is no comparison with what Muslims do when they get the chance.
Michael, I am talking about the present situation, not what the turks did decades ago, before I was born. Otherwise, we can look in our backyard to what Americans did to the natives here. And I can’t see why Hamas would lose all their leverage by giving all the hostages back as I see Trump threatening them, without anything guaranteed in return. They are not stupid and their loss is immense. They have nothing to lose, they might as well fight until the end. They have nothing left if their land will be stolen anyway. It is not an honest proposal, no matter how bad and cruel they are.
Michael,
Even an elementary school child knows that there is not and never was a Palestinian state. Are you so ignorant, or you pretend that you don’t know?
In 1948 the UK that was occupying Palestine decided to give it to the Jewish minority that was living there and created the artificial state of Israel. Since then the Israelis keep bringing Jews from all over the globe and suppress the Palestinians and push them out of their properties.
And then they built houses for the Jewish immigrants, like Trump and his son in law want to do in Gaza now.
And when the Palestinians revolt they call them terrorists, like you, and they just kill them massively. That’s called genocide and that’s why the Israeli prime minister is wanted by the International Criminal Court.
And you are very hypocritical about your concern about the Christians. There were 3.000 Christians living in Gaza and after the Israeli invasion and bombardment of Christian churches, there are only half left!
All the members of AHEPA, that you sympathize with Bibi the criminal, you are not Greeks actually. You proved it in 2018, when the treasonous Prespes agreement was signed and you didn’t say even one word! AHEPA is a disgrace and is very responsible for the decline of the Greek – American community…
The fact that you cannot engage in civil discourse without name calling over a sensitive topic tells me everything I need to know about you. Take your toys and leave the sandbox if you can’t at least be civil to people who disagree with you. You are part of the reason the Palestinian cause gains no traction.
Michael,
First of all, it is not an AHEPA meeting here, nobody appointed you a doorman to say who will write here and who will not.
The fact that you and your “brothers” in AHEPA spread such low level of misinformation, shows clearly what you think about other people’s IQ… Keep underestimating other people’s mental capacity and AHEPA will end up like Israel, the most hated entity in the world!
And by the way, I didn’t call any specific name on you! You are the one who doesn’t want actually to have a dialogue for the Palestinian question. And you are avoiding to talk about the essence of it, the fact that millions of Palestinians suffer since 1948 under the Israeli occupation…
