There is no end to the self-inflicted problems of the – incompetent and idiotic – prime minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis. His rejection by the new Trump administration is complete, with no end in sight. The latest: He was rebuked twice in the last few days by Vice President J.D. Vance, who refused to meet him during his visit to Europe. Most analysts in Athens expect that Mitsotakis, upon the arrival of the new ambassador, Ms. Kimberly Guilfoyle, will be asked to remove himself (by going to elections) soon…
It was a negative political accomplishment by someone who inherited everything because of his last name… He never dropped a sweat, he never made an effort, he never risked anything to achieve “success” in life… Someone who is the exact opposite of “meritocracy,” the quality lying at the center of Trump’s political agenda.
Let’s see the many failures of Mitsotakis in a summary:
- He gave everything to the American “Deep State” and the globalist’s war in Ukraine (including an essential port/basis in Alexandroupolis. What did he get in return for Greece? Absolutely nothing!!
- He repeatedly declared he was on the “right side of history” in Ukraine, and he unloaded enormous military supplies and equipment (leaving the Aegean Islands unprotected against Turkey). Ultimately, he managed the unique “accomplishment” of having broken relationships with the Americans and the Russians!! Unbelievable!!
- He rarely made an effort to hide his negative opinion of the Trump-Musk platform, even though after Trump was elected, he suddenly presented himself as anti-woke!! We have already learned that USAID was funneling money to Greece to support the same-sex legislation that passed last year!! Did you also notice that Stephanos Kasselakis has been nowhere to be found in recent weeks? Soon, we will know the real reason for his disappearance…
- Finally, to top it all off, he is gradually proven to have played a central role in the denial of justice for the Tempi railroad disaster. Over a million people came out to the streets to protest Mitsotakis’s failures and the corrupt political system in Greece. More than two million are expected to do the same on February 28, the two-year anniversary of the tragedy!
He is desperate. Mitsotakis recently hired a relatively low-level and unknown DC lobbying firm, BGR, to promote his government’s connections with the Trump administration (link here). The $600,000 a year the Greek government decided to pay this firm cannot buy you even a low-level DC connection. It will surely fill other pockets… Use your imagination…
The Trump administration’s democratic, patriotic, and anti-corruption agenda at home in America is bound to have global repercussions; the so-called “Trump effect” is already being felt globally. In Greece, new patriotic political powers are bound to emerge. We can already see the widespread socio-cultural phenomena demanding the return to patriotism and the deeply-rooted Hellenic cultural traditions. From the heroic efforts to raise funds for the movie “Kapodistrias” by Giannis Smaragdis (unreasonably opposed by the Mitsotakis government), to the demonstration of over a million people in late January demanding justice for the Tempi victims, to the unbelievably unique song, deeply rooted in our history and tradition song “Asteromata” by Klavdia, who will represent Greece in the Eurovision contest… Those of us, trained analysts of Greek social and political affairs, can smell the atmosphere of historic change…
The old has not died yet, and the new is not yet born…
PS. I have repeatedly supported the Greek shipowners and their positive role in Greek history. And I cannot but underline that in recent years, the Greek shipowners were “on the right side of history” instead of Mitsotakis. But I lament the fact that none of them has (yet) decided to take a patriotic stance and do something analogous to what Trump did for America and create a patriotic movement to “Make Greece Great Again”…

He passed the same sex marriege in the Parliament and was determined to vaccinate the Greeks make them multicultural and will oppose nativism-patriotism.So they changed Prime ministers but they all had the same antihellenic policy because they were all corrupt due to lack of accountability..Velopoulos is a capable patriotic politician but needs to make a coalition with Natsios.
