EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis). We wrote yesterday that Met. Emmanuel of Halcedon (the #2 in the Phanar hierarchy, formerly of France) was severely hallucinating as he tried to present Zelensky as “a hero who is fighting for freedom” and other such pure propaganda statements – so far removed from reality that they clearly show a delusional “state of mind.” In such situations, we usually respond with the biblical “God makes foolish those he intends to destroy…”
Indeed, Bartholomew, Emmanuel, Pope Francis, and their Globalist Cabal are heading right into the path of destruction. Full of arrogance, blinded by secular power and wealth, misguided by heresy, abandoned by the faithful, there is nothing left for them to plan except their descent into the self-defeating path of fake “unity”, glorifying their pan-religious, “Abrahamic”, globalist monuments and pursuing their hidden goal to concentrate power and control of humanity in their dirty hands.
A prime example: Christianity worldwide expects them to take a stand and declare homosexuality a sin, yet they insist on their woke ideological agenda, going against Nature and, as such, against ANY and ALL religions…
Bartholomew, the worst Patriarch Orthodoxy had in the last few centuries, can claim whatever he wants about the Schism and any other issue.
The faithful have abandoned him…

Pat Bartholomew: There was no schism between Rome and Constantinople in 1054

The Ecumenical Patriarch believes that the division between Orthodox and Catholics will disappear in the coming years.
On March 12, 2025, during a meeting in Istanbul with Greek Catholic Melkite Patriarch Gregory III, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople discussed a theory suggesting that there was no real schism between Rome and Constantinople in 1054, reports Catholic News Agency.
According to him, rather than a formal break, “there were tensions that intensified over time.” However, as Bartholomew emphasized, these tensions “are not insurmountable.”
Gregory III arrived in Istanbul with a group of pilgrims participating in a pilgrimage organized by the German Society of the Holy Land. The occasion for the pilgrimage was the 1700th anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea, held in 325 AD.
“Of course, many problems have accumulated over the past thousand years. But we are full of hope that they will be resolved in the coming years,” the Patriarch underscored. “Everything is in God’s hands. He has already prepared the true future for our Churches.”
As a reminder, Patriarch Bartholomew previously stated that he would seek a common celebration of Easter with Catholics and Anglicans.

Maybe he things he didn’t create a schism with Russia because what he did in Ukraine, either. Otherwise maybe he would not continue his idiotic plants to destroy the canonical UOC.
Hope the ill repute of Fanar & the homo Emmanuel’s depravity & woke Pope Francis dismantling his church & soon demise will blow up in one giant tower moment!🤮
I’m just waiting for this Clown Car to slide off a deep cliff…very, very soon!
Yes, definitely Barto and his company are in the Lulu land. The delusion continues and it gets worse and worse!
https://spzh.eu/en/news/85534-metropolitan-of-chalcedon-russian-church-has-become-schismatic
It is a fact, that of the Orthodox Churches, only the Russian Church has broken communion with Patriarch Bartholomew.
It is also a fact, that of the Orthodox Churches, only the Russian Church has broken communion with the Patriarch of Alexandria, the Archbishop of Cyprus, and the Archbishop of Greece.
Joseph,
Again your logic is flawed. The Catholics and OCU are also schismatics but you and Barto don’t seem bothered by it. Why are you so hanged up on what Russia is doing, breaking communion with those that are in communion with the schismatics? Russia may be proven right to do this and other local churches may follow. Barto is acting like a dictator, hanging out with the schismatics and expecting us to obey. I don’t want to be in communion with the schismatics either but that does not make me a schismatic!
So the fact that Moscow represents at least 50% of the global Orthodox population doesn’t phase you one bit?
Are you also dismissing the fact that most of the Orthodox Churches have yet to acknowledge and concelebrate with Epiphanios?
Are you forgetting that Jerusalem and Antioch were already at odds with Constantinople over that church representative that occurred in Qatar a few years ago?
Are you forgetting the outrageous claims of Constantinople, claiming jurisdiction of China after Hong Kong was annexed in 1997, and ignoring the presence of Russian missionairies and bishops in both China and Japan for a long time prior to the first “Constantinopolitan bishop” of Hong Kong even showing up?
Constantinople has been on “thin ice” for years. It’s possible that Moscow was 20 years too late in ceasing Communion with Constantinople…perhaps they should have made this move the first time Pope Benedict recited the Lord’s Prayer during Divine Liturgy in St. George’s Church in the Phanar on live Greek TV. Perhaps others would have followed suit (remember when Constantinople arrogantly cut ties with Christodoulos of Athens?) and perhaps that could have forced Bart to resign. By delaying, Constantinople’s actions were emboldened and became far worse.
Very well written! How far should the other Churches let Barto go in his quest for power? He acts like an arrogant emperor, going on other Patriarchs’ territory and profiting from the hard missionary work of others. He must be stopped. I hope the other Patriarchs are up to the task. Otherwise, one day Barto will claim their churches, too. He will take their marvelous structures, like he has been trying to steal the marvelous Lavra and kick the holy monks out, and steal cathedrals that took a lot of sweat to build in Ukraine. Ah, and then someone here has the nerve to call the Russian Church schismatic! If someone steals my house, I would not be a schismatic if I don’t want to talk to the thief anymore! Gee!
Markos,
While most of the Local Orthodox Churches will not concelebrate with the OCU, they nonetheless still maintain communion with Patriarch Bartholomew, with the Patriarch of Alexandria, with the Archbishop of Cyprus, and with the Archbishop of Greece. That is, in fact, the majority position of the autocephalous Local Churches. While the Moscow Patriarchate lays claim to most of the Orthodox Christians in the world, I believe the number they claim globally is around 164 million, it is all centralized in Moscow, not unlike the Vatican. This Vatican-like ecclesiology is now causing problems in the Baltic states of Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania, and of course in Africa and Ukraine.
While the Vatican still lays claim to most Christians in the world, something like over one billion, I think we can agree that legitimacy is not necessarily about who can get the most numbers of adherents.
In 1996, the Church of Russia broke communion with Constantinople. This was because Orthodox Christians in Estonia petitioned to be separated from the Moscow Patriarchate, and Constantinople granted this request. Communion was restored after about three months though, and the result is now two Orthodox jurisdictions in Estonia. However, in 2018, the Estonian Church of the Moscow Patriarchate was required to break communion again with Constantinople, and now the Estonian government wants to shut MP parishes down for national security reasons. This is not the case with Estonian churches under Constantinople, which are still in communion and recognized by all the Local Churches except for the Moscow Patriarchate.
You are delusional Joseph. The nuns and monks in Estonia are vocal about their unwillingness to leave the MP for the Constantinople. Are you suggesting that the monks and nuns are a threat to national security? I suggest you stop treating the real orthodox Christians in Estonia and Ukraine as traitors. They do not want to go under the woke Barto even if beaten up or killed, so stop telling us that they ask Barto to take them from MP and put them under his jurisdiction. This is pure propaganda, and it’s all lies, so stop.
Joseph,
The overwhelming majority of Vatican-like (Uniate) behavior the faithful see these days seems to come from Constantinople, which has
– been acting against the 150 year old condemnation of ethnophyletism,
– acting unilaterally on several divisive matters and disregarding the other autocephalous Churches and the Synodic tradition of Orthodoxy,
– who promotes bishops who make heretical claims such as “primus sine paribus”, or even recite the Filioque at their ordination,
– whose bishops have been openly recorded “kissing the hand” of the Pope, and violating the Canon that forbids obtaining a blessing from a heretic…
– who allowed the Pope to engage in common prayer during Divine Liturgy (by reciting the Lord’s Prayer) on several instances in Constantinople,
-Etc, etc…
It is obvious you also support ethnophyletism and by extension the Uniate “long game” that ethnophyletism plays into these days, so it makes sense that you are presenting yourself online a cheerleader of Bartholomew’s anti-traditional actions, but your stated position above is propagandized “hogwash”.
Back in the old days when the majority of Constantinopolitan hierarchs were authentically Christ-loving & courageous, and not Pope-loving & corrupt Vatican vassals, rhetoric such as yours would have likely resulted in formal excommunication, and anyone speaking it would be labeled a Λατινοφρονας. After all, ethnophyletism was condemned as a divisive heresy. The Pope-kissing fan-club supporting Epiphanios and his Uniates is you are cheerleading for… “congratulations” for supporting such “winners”, but we aren’t falling for the self-condemning (Titus 3:10-11) “emetic” rhetoric you stubbornly continue to regurgitate in this forum.
Markos, it is a fact that granting autocephaly is not Vatican-like behavior. Granting autocephaly is not representative of ethnophyletism either.
Not everybody needs autocephaly for their local church. Yet sometimes Governments and wars threaten to cause divisions within the Body of Christ for stated “national security reasons”.
If a government deems autocephaly, or some other form of independence, as an acceptable solution, then having this independence protects the freedom of the church.
Joseph, the Canon regulating autocephaly includes the clause that the remaining autocephalous churches will concur / agree with the granting of the tomos. That aligns with the Synodic tradition of the Orthodox Church. In the case of the Ukraine, every autocephalous Church was asking Bartholomew not to grant it, and he did, ignoring the Canon. And ignoring Canons is precisely Vatican-like behavior.
Those are “facts”, sir…not the Uniate propaganda that you are continuing to vomit all over this forum every chance you get…
Markos, the “canon” you reference has never been approved by any council. It was omitted from the Crete Council and mostly because the Russian Church objected to it. Remember that the Russian Church has “unilaterally granted” four different autocephalies: to Georgia in 1943, to Poland in 1948, to Czechoslovakia in 1951, and to America’s OCA in 1970. The autocephaly of the OCA is still not recognized by the majority of Local Churches.
There was a lot of hope that the Russian Church would unilaterally grant autocephaly to Ukraine also. This was even the hope of Constantinople, and it largely explains the patient reticence of Constantinople from getting involved.
In 1991, all of the Ukrainian bishops unanimously requested autocephaly in a letter to Patriarch Alexis II of Moscow. That request was denied. The result of that denial was schism in Ukraine, and that schism has persisted from 1991 even until today.
Joseph,
Your examples are not sound. We have repeatedly mentioned in the past that the 70 or so years of hard Bolshevik / Communist takeover of Moscow with its anti-canonical forced replacement of hierarchy and clergy with KGB agents cannot be used as a standard to emulate. Much of what was done was illegitimate, and KGB-man Philaret himself is an example, with his lavish lifestyle, concubines, and illegitimate children, all of which resulted in him being deposed when Communism fell… We all know that OCA started as a “Communist Moscow counterweight” to rival ROCOR, that Moscow had cut communion with because they were loyal to the Czar…politics cause schisms, period. But after ROCOR and Moscow reconciled after the fall of Communism, guess what….OCA has found itself in a precarious position…not really aligned with any of the 14 (not 15) legitimate Autocephalous Churches as they stand today, and waiving some Moscow “tomos” document that nobody recognizes, not even Moscow today, in fact… But that’s a different topic for a different day…
And yet, you bring up the 1991 “autocephaly” request to Alexios, which is strangely timed with the “long visit” of the deposed Philaret in the Washington D.C. downtown district, together with other KGB defectors? You consider all these facts non-related, coincidental or immaterial? Why don’t you ever comment on the 1992 and 1997 Bartholomew letters that we have already provided to you to examine, confirming that Kiev is under Moscow’s jurisdiction?
Bottom line…we have a Synodic Church. When the entirety of the Church doesn’t agree, a single bishop can’t go off and override them. When he does, that results in Schism. And to squash any delusions aligned with Elpidophoros’ twisted, heretical ecclesiological conclusion that the bishop of Constantinople is “primus sine paribus”, we can remind folks of the following:
1) In the book of Revelation, instructions for the “Church of Philadelphia, Church of Ephesus, etc are telling…(each had a bishop but in the 1st century the feeling of bishop = local church was evident),
2) The Apostolic Canons forbid one bishop to officiate (or meddle) in another bishop’s territory.
3) There is a Canon on the books that forbids ANY visiting bishop, including the Patriarch from sitting upon the ανω καθεδρα of the “synthronon” in the altar…do you even realize what this Canon means, and how it provides historical evidence that the “Vatican-like” nonsense we are seeing today out of Constantinople is totally against Orthodox tradition?
Finally, Constantinople always added a clause to the verbiage of each tomos (Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, etc), that explicitly stated that the proclaimation of autocephaly would be made «εν Οικουμενική ή και μεγάλη άλλη Συνόδω εν πρώτη ευκαιρία συνερχομένη» (in an Ecumenical or Great Synod convening at first opportunity…) Some will use this phrase to argue that technically autocephaly for Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, etc has not been fully completed, and similar arguments were used by Bartholomew against Christodoulos of Athens when he ceased commemorating the latter in the diptychs for a period of time over the “New Lands” controversy. However, once a new primate is commemorated universally in the diptychs of all Orthodox jurisdictions, it’s pretty much a done deal. That is NOT what we have going on today. Even in Greece, the Synod has not officially voted to modify the diptychs…The commemorations of Epiphanios are done arbitrarily. It’s a similar situation with Cyprus…a divided synod (aka schism). The importance of this verbiage though «εν Οικουμενική ή και μεγάλη άλλη Συνόδω εν πρώτη ευκαιρία συνερχομένη» is clear…it preserves the Synodic Tradition of the Church…if the larger Synod of Orthodoxy disagrees with something, it won’t be legitimized…if one party “forces his will” over the other bishops, this will cause Schism, which is PRECISELY what we have…
Let’s not forget also how the people are treated when their churches are stolen for “one without equals”. They are beaten and even killed. Are the holy objects treated with respect? OH, NO! Holy objects are thrown on the floor, icons burned, money and objects stolen from holy temples. How about relics? Are they venerated? Oh, No! They are “inspected” by the Department for Monitoring and Enforcement of Cultural Heritage Protection Legislation within the Ministry’s Directorate for the Protection and Preservation of Cultural Heritage.
That is what the Bolsheviks did too, and I don’t here the “one without equals” having a say in this. What a sacrilege! Also, the details of the commission’s work have been classified.
They are doing this work to “determine their historical and scientific value.” Where is the “one without equals”? Does he think this is appropriate? Or he just want to steal the churches and doesn’t really carry about how the relics are treated?

Let’s face it, Bartholomew should just don the red Zucchetto of a Roman Catholic Cardinal. For all intensive purposes, he has been one for quite some time. It’s the truth, and everybody knows it!
Our Church leaders need to be proactive concerning the determination of Istanbul and Rome to announce a common date for Easter. We’re getting close to Pascha and the time Francis and Bartholemew have set for their ill conceived meeting. Orthodox leaders must draw a red line and state that although Roman Catholics must accept ex cathedra nonsense from the Pope, Bartholomew is not infallible and should keep his schemes to himself. Dear Orthodox Hierarchs, please let Bartholomew know that he does not have the authority to act for the whole Church. Only a council of bishops has that role.
It’s called the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea and took place in 325AD. That’s your council of bishops. That’s when the common date for Pascha was decided.
And yet, there is no common date because of a unilateral decision of the Latin Pope (without an Ecumenical Synod) to make his own “corrections” a few centuries ago…
And in the 20th century, further arbitrary adoption of the Gregorian calendar (mostly by the “Pope-like” Meletios Metaxakis & some of his like-minded buddies, WITHOUT a wider pan-Orthodox synod), and applying it to the Orthodox Festal calendar, which led to the well-known New vs. Old Calendar Schism within Orthodoxy.
And fast-forward to the 21st century where we see the Phanariotes openly praying with heretics, granting “tomos” of autocephaly (without the backing of all Orthodox autocephalous Churches – aka council of bishops) to officially acknowledged Schismatic and Uniate sects, opening the “back door” to a false Union with Rome, and expanding the Schism within Orthodoxy to ridiculous levels…
So…here we are…without a common date, with at least 2 additional Orthodox Schisms caused by Constantinople over the last 100 years or so, but with several “Orthodox” hierarchs spawned from the Constantinopolitan lineage of Metaxakis who are ready to sign the dotted line, just like in 1439 in the pseudo-council of Ferrara…
Some “celebration” of the 1700 years that will be…representatives from Constantinople and Rome hanging out togethre, but with many missing Orthodox Churches? Let’s see what happens. God has already made sure that Francis has to stay at home for the next 2 months to recover from his hospital stay, which puts an interesting damper on Bart’s plans for a common proclamation on Pascha… Turkey is dangerously close to civil war with the arrest of Imamoglou…it may become difficult and dangerous for anyone to travel to Nicaea the next couple of months, if things don’t calm down…time to order more popcorn…
The end of the war is not going to be very kind to the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
If he and his Patriarchate choose to go the way of Unia then that’s on them, there will be pieces of the EP, including Athos, that don’t go. It’s painful to say but the Church will be better for it when they’re gone.
I personally welcome the joint event between Bart and Francis in May, that way things will be very clearly drawn in the sand. No more wishy washy
Petros:
Although it is very hurtful that an orthodox patriarch chose to betray us this way, I think you are right about your observations, and I tend believe that this will end up in a cleaning of the Church and the sheep and goats will be separated on right and left side. Barto is persecuting the UOC and is creating saints. Those people suffering today will be rewarded in the end and Barto will get his reward as well in the end.
I just found this article. As expected, the newly elected AB of Albania will NOT recognize the schismatic OCU and will follow in the footsteps of the great AB Anastasios.

More and more, Barto will look like he is walking around aimlessly with very little support for his schismatic OCU and also his attempt to create unity with the schismatic RCC.
