I watched the White House Greek Independence Day event program, which did not emphasize Greece or Cyprus.
First, who controls the list of Greek Americans invited to the White House? Where was George Papadopoulos at the event?
I have never been invited to the White House, even though I worked on issues with Greece and Cyprus for many years. I was the only Greek in rooms full of Turks and their paid agents in DC. I organized protests in front of the Turkish Embassy on July 20th for Turkey to leave Cyprus! I will never set foot in Turkey because I’d be arrested since Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press do not exist in Turkey.
Do the Greek American Democrat Establishment Elite control this list that Greek American Republicans like me are ignored? These are the same folks who are in bed with the Globalists, Clintons, Obamas, Kamala Harris, George Soros, and the US State Department.
I want to be invited to the next Greek Independence Day event in 2026. I’d like to go at least once, and I want to show up with my ex-intern, George Papadopoulos. George is a great Greek American Republican and patriot. The Deep State sent him to prison for false charges and ruined his reputation just to set up Trump. I hope George sues the federal government, as all J6ers will soon do.
The Deep State sent innocent people like Gen. Mike Flynn, Steve Bannon, Roger Stone, and many others to prison based on false charges.
The event did not discuss Greece’s threats from Turkey or its geopolitical importance. Greece is the birthplace of Western Civilization and Christianity. What about Greek bravery in WWII and how Greek patriots prevented Greek Communists from taking control of Greece?
Let’s recognize the heroes of freedom, not some Greek who came to America with $75 bucks and now has millions of dollars. The “$10 dollars in my pocket to America” speech does not inspire us younger American-born Greeks who see no American Dream thanks to the Democrats’ bad policies, including their high taxation/regulations/prices/ inflation/energy costs/home costs/etc. The average American with college degrees struggles to make ends meet with high debt obligations.
The event did not mention the Greek Independence War heroes of 1821 or how Americans showed support for the Greeks’ freedom from Turkey in 1821. However, there is a record of Americans donating arms, money, and supplies to the Greeks during the 1820s.
The event did not discuss the names of American volunteers who went to Greece to fight with Greek patriots for Greek freedom. Yes, the names of Greek Independence heroes should be named and remembered at the White House event.
Most of all, the connection between the ancient Greeks should be made. We should not forget the Ancient Greeks like Alexander the Great, Eratosthenes, Pythagoras, Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, Aristophanes, Sophocles, Solon, Hippocrates, Euclid, King Leonidas and 300 Spartans, etc. The Greek Orthodox Church leadership will ignore our Ancient Greek ancestors. I honor my Ancient Greek ancestors and try to read the great books they left behind. Our Greek history includes the Ancient Greeks, Byzantine Greeks, and Modern Greece.
I read Epictetus’s Ancient Greek Stoic philosophy each morning in addition to the Bible. Epictetus teaches me a lot about leading a great life. I urge all Greeks to read Epictetus and rediscover the works of Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, and others.
The event should showcase pure Greek dishes. I’m sorry, but humus and falafel are not Greek. They are Middle Eastern food.
Greek folk music should avoid Middle Eastern tones. Greek music is not tsefteteli Tourkiko, Arabic, or trash rap/techno/rap. What about instrumental Greek bouzouki players at the White House with Pontian Lyras, Cretan Lyras, etc.? Let’s show Greek music from Crete, the Ionian Sea, Peloponnesos, Makedonia/Thraki, the Greek Aegean Islands, etc.
Whoever handles the White House Greek Independence Day event does not know Greek Independence Day history, authentic Greek music/cuisine, etc.
I urge you all to take charge and hold great Greek Independence Day events in your local communities in 2026.
Let’s make the 2026 White House Greek Independence Day event great again!

What was lacking? Well between Trump and Elpi, integrity, character, philotimo, honesty, class…humanity…
I think Elpidoforos’s appearance was a disgrace. Not because he is a liberal. But because of his attempt to connect Konstantine the great and also a Saint of the Orthodox and Catholic church, to Trump. We have to stop giving clergy the leadership when speaking about our community.
Well said Alex Aliferis!
Humus & falafel are not Greek food & yes Greek music is not Arabic or trash Rap.
Bro make it to White House 2026!
Traditionally the social secretary arranges these events. If Trump hasn’t appointed his own then its still Elizondo who was appointed by Biden…which reveals the crass nature of the event. But not only. Elpidokotonos’ remarks are beyond awful …not an ounce of Christian modesty and seriousness at all…so embarrassing to say the least. The rest of the distasteful clowns there, at least most of them, need no comment. Well known seekers of personal συμφέρον.
In the White House “event” most importantly, nobody mentioned Turkey! Not Trump, not Elpidoforos, not Kimberly, nobody! They didn’t even mention the Ottoman Empire! So, the question is who the Greeks revolted against in 1821 and who Greece got liberated from?
Good points and another point may well be to find out who his speechwriter is-assuming he has one!
Unfortunately, the word “Turkey” was mentioned. But it was mentioned in the ” tsifteteli Tourkiko”song!
What ever happened to Theodorakis music and songs? Or Elitis’ poetic lyrics? and so so many other great Greek composers’ and poets’ songs. These are the songs that will make Hellenes rise if ever need be. Not the “τσιφτετέλι Τούρκικο” or similar songs with Turkish roots. Definitely not a very good picture of the White House reception to honor Hellenism and its independence from the Ottoman empire.
