Alarm from US military: Iranian missiles penetrate US ‘invulnerable’ defenses
Retired US Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis expresses serious concerns about the operational capability of US air defense systems in the Middle East, as Iran’s ballistic missiles manage to penetrate the much-vaunted US and Israeli defenses.
Davis specifically refers to systems like Iron Dome, Patriot missiles, and the advanced THAAD , which, despite the billions spent on their development, fail to intercept the majority of attacks.
“The current military strength of the United States is already sufficient to protect global interests. Engaging in a broad conflict would simply unnecessarily expose our soldiers to enormous risk ,” Davis noted.
His assessment indicates that Iran’s military capabilities have evolved much faster than Westerners expected, causing intense concern in the Pentagon and raising questions about the effectiveness of the American presence in the region.
It is indicative that, while the EU passively follows American initiatives , states such as Iran appear to have acquired the technological and strategic self-confidence to defend themselves and counterattack.
