Please New Yorkers, NOT Mamdani!

This political race for Mayor of New York is unlike any other; it’s the most outrageous in history. President Trump calls the leading candidate for Mayor of New York “The Communist” – Zohran Kwami Mamdani is now the newly crowned leftist superstar, but he’s merely an inexperienced socialist (born in Uganda but raised in NYC); he’s pitching that NY is too expensive and will lower costs. As Mayor, he will: freeze rent for all stabilized tenants, address the housing crisis, eliminate bus fares, provide no-cost child care, and impose taxes on big corporations and the wealthiest in New York. He will also have city-owned grocery stores and dismantle the police, replacing cops with mental health professionals and social workers! His mantra back in 2020 in relation to the NYPD was “Defund it. Dismantle it – End the cycle of violence”. But now he’s been walking back comments…

I posit that this foolish and prejudiced assemblyman who bashes  White citizens is not to be trusted — dear New Yorkers:

Do Not Cast Your Vote For Mamdani!  Zohran is now surging in the polls, leading Andrew Cuomo, Curtis Sliwa, and Mayor Eric Adams. On top of that, he’s said insane things against police like “We don’t need to investigate to know NYPD is racist, anti-queer & a major threat to public safety.” What he wants instead to prevent crime is a “socialist city council”.

Bill O’Reilly says voting for Mamdani is “an act of evil – It’s going to be anarchy and blood in the streets.”

A journalist friend texted me saying: “The New York Oligarchs created a monster with their policies… Zohran played very smart against corrupt Eric Adams and even more, corrupt Cuomo, and he beat them badly at the debate.”  IF Zohran wins, Wall Street will need to leave NYC. Then, who will pay the taxes in this city? The Zohran voters? They are takers, not makers.

Andrew Cuomo is next in line, and I believe his likeliest path to victory would be if both Curtis Sliwa and Mayor Adams drop out and endorse him. I see no other way to stop Mamdani except a two-way race. Tragically, I say this because I’m all for Curtis Sliwa, the Guardian Angels founder and radio talk host on 77WABC. To me, he’s the most qualified, hardest-working soldier this city’s ever had, even risking his life. I’ve been running into Curtis at Republican rallies since 2004 and love his fighting spirit. I genuinely believe Curtis, as the Mayor of New York, would be the best! Nobody focuses on community safety like him, even protecting the animals. But no matter what happens, in my opinion, Curtis Sliwa is already and will continue to be our valiant warrior we look to in times of trouble in NYC… and there will be trouble once Mamdani gets sworn in!

Recently I was at John Catsimatides big bash, birthday party at Cipriiani’s; I so thank him for his hospitality and thrilled to have met and briefly interview political icons like Mayor Eric Adams, Curtis Sliwa, Pete King and the patriot American flag artist Scott Lobaido, also radio’s Domonic Carter who does my favorite broadcast; and others from 77WABC: Sid Rosenberg, Anthony Cumia, Ken Matthews and JT all happy to express their views on Mayoral race. Frankly, everyone agrees we are headed for trouble.

I met “John Cats”, the Republican billionaire friend of President Trump, who ran for NY Mayor in 2013 (I volunteered), and from our Greek Orthodox Church, where he’s VP.  I still find his having lost unfair; “JC” would’ve been a wonderful Mayor… I remember his musings of building another World’s Fair… but now, in 2025, as CEO of Gristedes supermarket, he warns, “NYC could become like Havana under Castro if Mamdani wins!” —“Mamdani knows nothing about business – city government will go broke if ZM creates city owned grocery stores.”— “We’re paying highest taxes in the world!”

At the party, I met the ever-friendly, smiling Mayor Eric Adams, and he agreed to answer questions, as if he’s considering stepping down from the race in exchange for President Trump’s offer as Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.  He insisted, “I will not drop out of the race!” and “There was no job offer from the President at all.” He claims the media is all rumors and lies…“Everyone is ahead of themselves.” Then he welcomed me to photograph him with radio’s Domonic Carter and Mark Simone. However, some tell me Mayor Adams will indeed step down in time; I also hear John Cats also told him to take the Trump job.

According to the NY Post, the polls show Andrew Cuomo would have an advantage over Zohran in a two-way race, winning by 11 points.

When I asked Curtis Sliwa about the possibility of dropping out, he was adamant: “The White House has not contacted me, and I’m not interested in any job at White House – I’m the only candidate who can beat Mamdani.”

Also at the party, Ken Matthews of WABC told me he favors Curtis Sliwa and is certain Adams will step aside, that “he’s milking the publicity and wants to stack up as many favors as possible.” I inquired about him to former Governor Andrew Cuomo.  “He’s a spoiler and should’ve been put in jail over the sexual harassment and Covid scandal!”

I also bumped into the biggest vintage icon in radio, Bruce Morrow aka “Cousin Brucie”, sadly telling me he’s “losing what’s going on in NY as he lives upstate”. Maybe he’s just apolitical. I also met up with the boldest talking, patriotic red, white & blue flag painter Scott Labaido, who’s all out campaigning for Curtis Sliwa.

I, too, love Curtis, but I told Scott he has no chance, reminding him he’s low in the polls; Scott glared intently in my eyes with a voice boiling and asked, “IF I’m a true New Yorker, I cannot doubt Curtis Sliwa will be Mayor!” I had to calm Scott down by agreeing with his obsessed fantasy. Now can you imagine Scott Labaido’s upcoming meltdown on November 4th?

Sorry to break it to Scott, but even President Trump said, “Zohran will absolutely win unless multiple candidates drop out.”

All in all, I had a most remarkable night at John Cat’s party, where I even had an Epiphany about certain close encounters. What did I learn? You can’t mix politics & have a birthday cake too!
