Yesterday’s funeral and memorial service for Charlie Kirk in Glendale, Arizona, was unlike any farewell in recent memory. Tens of thousands filled State Farm Stadium, while many thousands more stood outside, listening on loudspeakers and watching on screens. What unfolded was part Christian revival, part political rally, and part solemn farewell to the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA.

Erika Kirk: Forgiveness Over Vengeance

The most powerful and unexpected words came from Erika Kirk, Charlie’s widow. In front of the massive crowd, she declared:

“I forgive him. My faith calls me to forgive, even in the face of this pain.”

She added that she would take up Charlie’s mission herself:

“We will not let hatred win. Charlie’s work will go on, and I will see to it that his legacy endures.”

Trump: “I Hate My Opponent”

Former President Donald Trump praised Kirk as a patriot, a fighter, and a “martyr” for America. But he directly rejected Erika’s Christian call to love one’s enemies:

“Charlie always said to love your opponent, but I’ll be honest — I don’t agree with that. I hate my opponent.This sharp contrast underscored the divide between forgiveness and political fire — a divide on full display at the funeral.

 

A Martyr for the Movement

Vice President J.D. Vance and Senator Marco Rubio, alongside others like Steven Miller, presented Charlie Kirk as a martyr for the conservative cause.

“Charlie gave his life for truth and for freedom. His blood has watered the tree of liberty.”

This rhetoric pushed the funeral beyond mourning and into mobilization. Many in the crowd left with the sense that Kirk’s death would be the beginning of a new political chapter.

Scale and Atmosphere

Estimates placed the attendance at 63,000 inside the stadium, with overflow possibly doubling that number outside. The atmosphere mixed patriotic displays, Scripture readings, Christian worship music, and fiery ideological speeches.

As one attendee put it:

“This didn’t feel like a funeral. It felt like a call to arms.”

Legacy

Above all, the day ended with Erika Kirk’s vow to continue her husband’s work. She announced that she would step into greater leadership at Turning Point USA, ensuring Charlie’s vision lives on:

“Charlie’s mission does not die with him. If anything, this is only the beginning.”

PS.  As we have said, this is a true “Turning Point”, marking in particular the colossal effort of America’s Youth to return to traditional Christian values and particuiarly Family, Faith and Nation… Why is it so difficult for Bartholomew, Elpidophoos and most everyone else around them to preach these simple values and especially Family?  Our constant “problem” for decades was the alienation of the youth… NOW THAT THEY ARE COMING TO US WE ARE TURNING OUR BACK – AND “WATERING DOWN” THE ORTHODOX FAITH? SHAME ON ALL IN THE CHURCH LEADERSHIP!!! FROM THE PHANAR ALL THE WAY TO THE LAST PRIEST WHO DOES NOT PROTEST and does not preach Family values!!
