In a glittering ceremony at the State Department , Kimberly Guilfoyle was sworn in as the United States ambassador to Greece , paving the way for her arrival in Athens in late October.
The former prosecutor and popular presenter , with extensive political and communications experience, is making history as she becomes the first woman to lead the American diplomatic mission in our country. Her position was proposed by President Donald Trump in December 2024 and was approved by the Senate , albeit with a delay.
In a post, the US embassy in Athens welcomed the development, noting:
“Today, Kimberly Guilfoyle was officially sworn in at the Department of State in Washington, D.C., as the next United States Ambassador to Greece, and the first female United States Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic. We extend our warmest congratulations to Ambassador Guilfoyle and look forward to advancing U.S. interests and strengthening our partnership with NATO ally Greece under her leadership!”
Kimberly Guilfoyle is expected to arrive in Athens at the end of October to officially assume her duties .
