The ‘Gay Colony’ of the Phanar and the Fr. Chrysostomos Double Standard

You cannot pretend that you accuse Fr. Chysostom – intruding into his private life on top of all else – for being “gay”, while at the same time you congratulate the “Gay Colony” in the Phanar and you support with hundreds of thousands of dollars the Orthodox Institute at Fordham to promote all kinds of LGBTQ “inclusivity” projects, including “ministries”. Orthodoxy does NOT promote “ministries” for LGBTQ people; It promotes repentance. Period. And then you accept pornography in the “Hellenic” Cultural Center of Astoria!!

The controversy surrounding Fr. Chrysostomos Gilbert raises a larger question: Are Orthodox moral standards being applied consistently?

Many faithful believe the answer is no.

The Constantinople Patriarchate is proven (including a Paris Police report!!) to be a “Gay Colony”, while Elpidophoros is chasing a very gifted, successful priest, Fr. Chrysostomos Gilbert, for being gay on the basis of gossip and outside any “canonical” frame, using the … community media!!

As the faithful have watched the Archdiocese pursue these gossipy allegations against Fr. Chrysostomos, controversy has grown over cultural programming hosted at GOA-affiliated institutions, namely the “Hellenic Cultural Center” in Astoria, which is obviously obscene if not pornographic.

What would Elpidophoros do now? Will he fire the management of the “Hellenic” Cultural Center? Will he send F. Gregory Stamkopoulos, a totally incompetent priest (whose many specialties include Internet Technology and who has absolutely no serious theological background, no charisma), back to Greece? Or will he allow him to keep living for free at the Cultural Center and accumulate a fortune? What will he do with the rest of the management of HCC?

Does he realize that AB Iakovos built this center with donations from shipowners and proclaimed, “I do not want this to become a shop!! This is for Hellenic Culture only”…  How many more times will Elopidophoros destroy the legacy of Iakovos? 

The issue is not art, censorship, or personal expression. The question is whether Church-affiliated institutions are expected to reflect Orthodox moral teaching.

No one argues that clergy should be above scrutiny. Allegations should be investigated fairly, thoroughly, and in accordance with the Canons of the Church. But accountability requires consistency.

If morality matters, it must matter everywhere. If scandal is a concern, it must be a concern whether it involves a priest, a bishop, or a Church-sponsored institution.

The growing concern among many faithful is not simply about one priest or one event. It is about credibility. A Church cannot condemn a priest for alleged conduct while simultaneously celebrating, funding, or promoting programs that appear to contradict the very standards being invoked against him.

Orthodoxy does not change its moral teachings according to cultural trends or institutional convenience. The Church calls all people to repentance, not to the creation of identity-based ministries that redefine its teachings.

Justice requires fairness. Leadership requires consistency. Credibility requires both

At the same time, the whole Church is watching Elaine Allen and George Tsougarakis’s efforts to turn GOARCH into a real estate development project.  Are you out of your mind? You will take what five generations of Greek-Americans built, our parents and grandparents, with sweat and tears, and turn it into “streams of income” to satisfy the “Gay Colony” of the Phanar? And their Ottoman rulers? At the same time, the Turkish Foreign Ministry controls the Phanar hierarchs and, using them, tries to control the Greek Diaspora all over the Globe.

So that Bartholomew can come out in Prinkipo island to announce that the sale of the historic Greek orphanage to a Turkish “developer” and the building of a hotel by a Greek construction company “promotes Greek-Turkish friendship”?  Why is Bartholomew pushing foreign policy while he can hardly preach Orthodoxy? And what “Greek-Turkish friendship” is he talking about when half of Cyprus is occupied by the Turks, the Turkish Parliament still has a “casus belli” against Greece in effect, and the whole “Ottoman” political leadership demands half the Aegean? 

SHAME ON ALL OF YOU!! BOTH HERE AND IN THE PHANAR!!

This will not pass!!!
