Inside the Secret Backchannel, Billion-Dollar Incentives, and an Unverified Attempt to Fracture Iran’s Leadership. What Is Known—and What Is Alleged—About Trump’s Secret Outreach to the IRGC.

An extraordinary story has emerged from the secret diplomacy surrounding the U.S.-Iran confrontation: Allegedly, Trump, acting like a mafia boss in international relations as he is constantly behaving in his second term, and thinking that Iran is the same as Venezuela, tried through backchannels in Iraqi Kurdistan to bribe the leader of the Revolutionary Guards of Iran (IRGC)!!
What is substantially documented is that the Trump administration opened an unusual backchannel to senior figures in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reportedly using Iraqi Kurdish President Nechirvan Barzani as an intermediary to reach IRGC commander General Ahmad Vahidi.
What allegedly happened inside that channel is far more explosive.
According to Larry Johnson and Pepe Escobar, their sources cited by the Transition Protocol YouTube program insist that Washington tried to persuade senior IRGC figures to distance themselves from, or potentially turn against, Iran’s political leadership. The alleged inducement reportedly involved enormous financial incentives.
Neither the White House nor the IRGC has acknowledged such an offer, and the claim remains unverified. But it did not arise in isolation.
At the same time, Washington was reportedly questioning whether Iran’s civilian negotiators actually had the authority to deliver an agreement. The IRGC had become central to Iran’s military and political decision-making, giving the United States a strong incentive to communicate directly with the people who could make or block a deal.
Axios reported that the Trump administration authorized a covert route to Vahidi through Barzani. According to that account, an IRGC representative facilitated secure communications, and Vahidi reportedly indicated support for negotiations rather than continued confrontation.

Their sources allegedly claim that senior IRGC figures were approached with financial incentives potentially worth billions of dollars in exchange for breaking with Iran’s leadership or facilitating a political realignment in Tehran. They describe the strategy as resembling a “Venezuela playbook” — trying to separate a government’s security elite from its political leadership.
Vahidi allegedly rejected the approach and allegedly informed Iran’s senior leadership. The same sources also claim that Pakistani Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir was approached as a possible intermediary and allegedly refused to participate in any effort to destabilize Tehran.
Those specific allegations have not been independently confirmed.
What is independently documented, however, is that enormous economic incentives were already being discussed with Iran, including a framework reportedly involving at least $300 billion in reconstruction and investment, sanctions relief, access to restricted Iranian assets and expanded oil exports.
Those proposals were officially presented as state-to-state economic incentives, not personal payments to military commanders. No public evidence shows the two were connected.
Still, the surrounding facts are striking: Washington had established a secret route to the Revolutionary Guard, massive financial concessions were on the table, and U.S. officials were trying to determine who truly controlled Iranian decision-making.
Johnson and Escobar allege that somewhere inside those overlapping efforts, diplomacy crossed into attempted political inducement.
The secret IRGC channel appears to have been real. The scale of the economic incentives was real. The allegation that Washington tried to use that channel to financially induce senior Revolutionary Guard figures to break with Tehran remains unverified — but it is the central claim that now deserves scrutiny.
I for one, would be ecstatic if it were true. This would mean that Trump was looking for an off-ramp. Nothing wrong with that.
George – I think we know he is looking for an off-ramp (which the “combined West” sees as it saw it in Ukraine – as a useful interval in order to re-arm and re-attack). Most of his generals and his top aides, including Vance, suggest so. I think he knows the facts. The problem is Bibi and the Zionists. Not only because of their ideology – which they use as a justification to overtake Iran but mostly because the “puppetmasters” behind them know very weel that losing Iran to China and Russia as a geopolitical stronghold and as an oil and gas producer will mean the end of their hegemony, and will likely have as a result the collapse of the dollar.
Unluckily for the “puppetmasters”, the Persians invented chess, and they have proved it quite clearly in the last few years.
Nick, I agree with you about the “puppet-masters” who are ultimately pulling Netanyahu’s strings as well. Losing Iran to China and the Ukraine to Russia will be destructive to their financial hegemony.
That doesn’t mean that they aren’t losing and that they can’t lose. Already, in not being broken up into five or seven statelets, Russia has won in the geostrategic sense. Even if the war freezes along the present lines. We can understate the demonic fury of the collective West in their desire to reduce Russia to rubble. This goes back to Zbig Brzezinski btw. George and Helleniscope your testimony just add to the Criminal complaint against the United States government, the State Department, and officials of both parties who have been operated a global criminal enterprise waging undeclared, unconstitutional warfare against Russia, Iran, Venezuela, Syria, and others through a coordinated system of economic sanctions, tariff warfare, military pressure, and political coercion — all without a declaration of war, UN authorization, or lawful use of U.S. Treasury funds.
