EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis): I could not imagine wild boars in the central avenues of the Athenian metropolis – not far away from the neighborhood where I grew up!… I can already hear the leftists screaming, “Climate Change,” “Climate Change!” But that’s a positive eventuality on the face of it, right? Oh, please, my friends on the Left: there is too much food in the streets of the Greek capital!… If I was a wild boar, this is exactly where I would go… A lot of food, no natural enemies (e.g., bears – there are many up in the high mountains of Greece), and a lot of “animal lovers” to protect me and even feed me… Why should I waste my energy while I am given everything for free – thanks to the “good-hearted” leftist ideology? I will walk around the avenues of Athens and get fat and happy, while I also enjoy the antiquities and the gay parades!

Wild Boars In the Streets of Athens!
The Region of Attica proceeded with the installation of warning signs for the presence of wild boars a few kilometers from the center of Athens, as you will see in the following images of carandmotor.gr.
The increase in the population of wild boars, even in populated areas of the country, has created various problems, posing a danger to drivers of cars or motorcycles, who will encounter them on their way.
The accidents that have already been recorded are numerous, and many of them serious, as in some cases they even cost human lives.
This very reason prompted the Region of Attica to place warning signs informing about the possible presence of wild boars a few kilometers away from the center of Athens.

The three warning signs were placed in the area of Daphni, and in particular near the Holy Monastery of Daphni, upstream of Athens Avenue towards Athens (according to the report and photos of carandmotor.gr).
As one can perceive, wild boars have found shelter in the adjacent grove, which in search of their food, reach as far as Athens Avenue.
Therefore, drivers should be especially careful in this section of the road and reduce their speed to have a greater reaction time if an animal is found on the asphalt.

It remains unknown whether there have already been any accidents due to the crossing of wild boars at this point, which may sound… exaggerated since the distance is only a few kilometers from the heart of Athens and a few hundred meters from residential areas. However, the placement of the warning signs just by chance can not be.
It is worth noting, however, that in addition to the warning signs, a metal mesh should also be installed, which will prevent animals from entering the road network and in particular on Athens Avenue from the neighboring grove, significantly reducing the possibility of a traffic accident.
