Dimitris Konstantakopoulos, a friend of Helleniscope (as I have repeatedly stated, we have friends in all political corners – and Dimitris belongs to the Left – but he is primarily a truth seeker and a patriot), explains in just one minute why Mitsotakis is a traitor: Because his policies undermine the national interests of Greece!! Let me note that Konstantakopoulos is among the most knowledgeable in Russian affairs in Greece and worldwide! He lived in Moscow for many years as a correspondent for the Athenian Press Agency and has maintained close connections with politicians and journalists ever since.
Says Konstantakopoulos: There is NOT ONE Greek government of any political orientation (Right, Center or Left) since 1945 that cut off ALL relations with Russia! NOT ONE!! Except the current Mitsotakis government. And he explains at least two instances where Greece sought the intervention of Russia to support her national interests. a) In 1987, Andreas Papandreou, through his FM Karolos Papoulias, asked Bulgaria, then a close ally of Russia, to move their troops close to the Turkish border and Bulgaria did, averting any “bad” Turkish ideas. b) In 1964, AB Makarios, then President of Cyprus, asked Russia’s intervention and averted a Turkish invasion.
I could name many other occasions, such as the many (at least five that I can recall) times when Russia’s support averted negative (mostly British) plans against Cyprus in the U.N. Security Council.
I have communicated these ideas with many of the Hellenic Lobby in DC and many other leaders of our organizations – especially the Cypriot leaders, who should be the first to be concerned. Do you know what response the Cypriot so-called leaders gave me? They gave me the same response I would get from the State Department: “Mitsotakis is a good leader, and we are satisfied with him!!” Well, we have noted your response… HELLENISCOPE WILL NOT FORGET IT… At some point, you will be called to explain publicly if you work for the interests of Greece and Cyprus or for the financial well-being of the warmongers at the State Department!!

They have now made the people of Cyprus not only legitimate targets for Russia, Syria , Iraq, Yemen, Turkey but most of the middle East …if war spreads! Today Iran has launched missiles against Israeili mossaad bases in Iraq, and Syria …and Syrian and Iraqi militias continue to attack Illegal U.S bases occupying Syria and Iraq! Importantly, The Uk bases in Cyprus were used in bombing of Syria in 2016 kill civilians and drawing massive protest by the Orthodox Christian Community and Churched of Syria !
At that time , the Cypriot government received a lot of heat for putting the people of Cyprus at risk for war , in allowing the bombing runs! So the Racist Colonialist Uk And U.S … use Mistotakis of Greece to wage war on Orthodox Russia , and the leaders of the acknowledged U.S and Nato Aircraft carrier to wage war on Syria , Russia , Yemen , Iran and Palestine !
Helleniscope spare us the treason charges against MIstotakis , and start facing the realization , …that Turkey will never give up its bases in Cyprus, because he has always known that it would be replaced by the Axis of Evil America , England and Israel! And that is why there is no reunification of Cyprus! Importantly, Cyprus could have used the Uk Bases removal to leverage them into fullfulling their obligation s to meet UN resolution demands for Nato Turkey to remove its bases from Northern Cyprus…but they didn’t !
Let stop the Nonsense , Helleniscope , …Greece and Cyprus are gone …and merely colonies of U.S , Israel, and UK ! No Greek should support Greece or Cyprus ..because they are only supporting the U.S and Uk governments of Cyprus and Greece!
In order to call someone a traitor, you have to have proof, that he gave comfort and help to the enemy. Who is the enemy of Greece that Mitsotakis gave comfort to? Whom did he collude with, with the intention of harming Greece? Differences in policy do not a traitor make. Just because Kostantakopoulos disagrees with the current Western orientation of Greece, doesn’t mean that it is treason. Let’s look at things realistically here, instead of flinging mud
I have said many times that when the CIA archives from the 1960s are revealed they will show that Constantine Mitsotakis, his dad, was a paid agent of the “agency” and the American establishment – and the family continues his “legacy” because “this is how business is done”… Even so, the elder/late Mitsotakis did not dare cut-off relationships with Russia when he was prime minister of Greece in 1991-93. But 30 years later his son, Kyriakos did, hurting the interests of Greece. If you do not think this is treasonous then this is the last time you will see a comment posted here. When ALL governments of Greece since 1945 follow the same policy (“we belong to the West – but we keep decent relations with Russia”) and Kyriakos Mitsotakis is the only one to put Greece’s interests at risk, then his policies are treasonous… There is no room for rhetorical escapes here… Last time someone destroyed relationships of Greece with Russia it was 1919-22, the culprit was Eleftherios Venizelos and Hellenism lost Asia Minor, two million Greeks uprooted from their ancestral lands, the biggest disaster of the last five centuries… Did you say anything?
