Global outcry for the injustice against the Italian female boxer – “Shame! Man hits woman”

“Shame, shame!” social media users are writing about the injustice against Angela Carini who was forced to fight Algerian  Imane Khelif at the Paris Olympics and quit after a powerful punch that broke her nose in the very first seconds of the match.

The image of the athlete crying in despair after being asked to compete against an opponent who had male muscle strength has caused outrage worldwide . In addition to the comments on Greek Twitter (X), thousands of posts “flood” the platform with #IStandWithAngelaCarini. Users are on the side of the athlete who was forced to leave the unequal competition, since she understood from the very first moment that her physical integrity is at risk and she cannot compete with a woman who has male chromosomes.

A crowd of people are opening fire against the Olympic Games Committee for allowing this fight to take place , especially when the International Boxing Association recently banned Khelif from participating in a women’s fight in Delhi because after biological tests it was found that she has male chromosomes and high levels testosterone.

Reactions from Meloni and Salvini

The Italian Prime Minister Meloni also launched an attack against the committee: “I do not agree with the choice of the IOC and we have said so for several years. When in 2021 the IOC changed the regulations on this matter, we submitted a proposal to highlight the consequences that would arise. It is a fact that with the levels of testosterone in the blood of the Algerian athlete, the fight does not seem fair from the beginning. «Ντροπή, αίσχος!» γράφουν οι χρήστες των μέσων κοινωνικής δικτύωσης για την αδικία σε βάρος της Angela Carini που αναγκάστηκε να παλέψει με την Αλγερινή Imane Khelif στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες του Παρισιού και εγκατέλειψε μετά από δυνατή γροθιά που της προκάλεσε σπάσιμο στη μύτη, στα πρώτα κιόλας δευτερόλεπτα του αγώνα.

Η εικόνα με την αθλήτρια να βάζει τα κλάματα απελπισμένη αφού κλήθηκε να αγωνιστεί με αντίπαλο που είχε ανδρική μυϊκή δύναμη έχει προκαλέσει οργή σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο. Εκτός από τα σχόλια στο ελληνικό Twitter (Χ), χιλιάδες αναρτήσεις «πλημμυρίζουν» την πλατφόρμα με το #IStandWithAngelaCarini. Χρήστες στέκονται στο πλευρό της αθλήτριας που αναγκάστηκε να εγκαταλείψει τον άνισο αγώνα, αφού από την πρώτη κιόλας στιγμή κατάλαβε ότι κινδυνεύει η σωματική της ακεραιότητα και δεν μπορεί να ανταγωνιστεί γυναίκα που έχει ανδρικά χρωμοσώματα.

Πλήθος κόσμου εξαπολύει πυρά κατά της Επιτροπής των Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων που επέτρεψε τη διεξαγωγή αυτού του αγώνα, την ώρα μάλιστα που πρόσφατα η Διεθνής Ένωση Πυγμαχίας απαγόρευσε στην Khelif να συμμετάσχει σε αγώνα γυναικών στο Δελχί καθώς μετά από βιολογικές εξετάσεις διαπιστώθηκε ότι έχει ανδρικά χρωμοσώματα και υψηλά επίπεδα τεστοστερόνης.

Αντιδράσεις από Μελόνι και Σαλβίνι

Επίθεση κατά της επιτροπής εξαπέλυσε και η Ιταλίδα πρωθυπουργός Μελόνι: «Δεν συμφωνώ με την επιλογή της ΔΟΕ και το έχουμε πει εδώ και αρκετά χρόνια. Όταν το 2021 η ΔΟΕ άλλαξε τους κανονισμούς για το θέμα αυτό, καταθέσαμε πρόταση για να επισημάνουμε τις συνέπειες που θα προκύψουν. Είναι γεγονός ότι με τα επίπεδα τεστοστερόνης στο αίμα του Αλγερινού αθλητή ο αγώνας εξ αρχής δεν φαίνεται δίκαιος. Θεωρώ ότι οι αθλητές με ανδρικά γενετικά χαρακτηριστικά δεν πρέπει να επιτρέπεται να αγωνίζονται σε αγώνες γυναικών, όχι για να γίνει διάκριση σε βάρος κανενός, αλλά για να προστατευθεί το δικαίωμα των αθλητριών να αγωνίζονται με ίσους όρους» είπε και πρόσθεσε: «Ευχαριστώ την Άντζελα για τον τρόπο με τον οποίο αντιμετώπισε την κατάσταση. Το γεγονός ότι η αποσύρθηκε με θλίβει ακόμα περισσότερο. Χθες ήμουν ενθουσιασμένη όταν έγραψε ‘θα αγωνιστώ’ γιατί η αφοσίωση και ο χαρακτήρας μετράνε και σε αυτά τα πράγματα, αλλά μετράει και το να αγωνίζεσαι με ίσους όρους».

«Τρανς μποξέρ που έχει αποβληθεί από την Παγκόσμια Ομοσπονδία μπορεί να αγωνιστεί στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες και θα αντιμετωπίσει τη δική μας Άντζελα Καρίνι. Μία Μεξικανή αθλήτρια που αγωνίστηκε εναντίον της είπε ότι “οι γροθιές της πονούσαν πολύ. Δεν νομίζω να έχω νιώσει έτσι στα 13 χρόνια που πυγμαχώ, ούτε καν σε σπάρινγκ κόντρα σε άνδρες”. Χαστούκι στο πρόσωπο του αθλητικού ιδεώδους και της αξιοπιστίας των Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων.   2. What should happen next time, is the real female should not even participate in any sport that the opponent is male. She should have let himget up on tghe canvas and find no opponent. Its really the ultimate in stupidity, in the name of “inclusiveness” to match a woman with a man. No matter if that man wants to call himself a woman.

  4. This is a bizarre case…Algeria is not exactly a society that has adopted or accepted the woke “trans” movement, let alone allow biological males compete against females. So that part of the narrative doesn’t make much sense…on the surface, it doesn’t appear that this is a classic “woke / trans” situation…so what’s really going on here?

    The claims on the internet are that this individual was raised as a female in a village in Algeria, and would sell scrap metal to earn bus money to go to town to train. That is an important detail, because villages in Algeria are not exactly advertised as “woke” or “tolerant” of trangenderism. The claims are also that this athlete has unusually high levels of testosterone. There was a similar case about 20 years ago with a runner that was disqualified due to high testosterone levels (although I’m not sure they ever tested those “bearded” East German weightlifters thoroughly back in the day)… so what could be going on here?

    Without access to private medical records, and based on whatever available information is on the internet today, we can start speculating that this “Algerian village female” might very well be one of those cases of a genetic defect, or even one of those rare “ambiguous situations” at birth where doctors in the past used to make a decision on gender and surgically corrected the “less dominant phenotype” based on the “observational probability of dominance” of one over the other as the child developed. However, if this is such a case, and the doctors made a decision for “female”, but the chromosomal composition is XY (there are some anecdotal inferences on the internet), that still poses a big problem for sports. Either way, all this is speculation because it is not clear if the Olympic committee did DNA testing, or if they would ever disclose the results of such a test.

    Up until recently the Olympic committee still excluded those with “excessive testosterone” from women’s sports, even if it was not a case of “doping”, precisely in order to avoid these kinds of situations. Nevertheless, XY vs. XX competition should never be allowed. Of course, there would be psychological ramifications when the individual finds out the truth about what really happened at birth, in these rare instances, and that would have to be mitigated as well…

    The middle ground here might be based on the decades-old policy of “doping”, where the Olympic committee has medical thresholds for how much testosterone can be in a XX athlete. For those who can prove XX chromosomal origin from birth, yet have “medically proven naturally higher testosterone than the rest” to compete in a separate “weight category”, because if it is a natural phenomenon for some reason, that isn’t the fault or the willingness of the athlete. However, I suspect it won’t be easy to find too many “natural” situations like this, though, so the problem will likely self-correct. It is more likely that we will find some cases of XY that are competing against XX, because of a “medical decision” that was made at birth that nobody advertised and nobody suspected because it was a private decision between doctors and parents based on the birth defect details that they had to figure out…

    Again, this was some theoretical speculation based on some quick online research…let the doctors confirm what is really going on.

    As for the others that are part of the “woke” movement lying to themselves on a daily basis that they are something that they are not….of course, those are documented and well-advertised situations…we already know that’s unacceptable by default.

    • Great work Markos. I have to admit that I was one of the first ones to put the blame on the “woke” IOC for allowing a “male” boxer to fight against a female. Looking at the boxer in question, she does not look much of a female. She’s taller than her opponent, has more muscles than her opponent, has narrow hips and a masculine face.

      On the other hand, the fact that she comes from a Muslim nation, bothered me but I chose to overlook it. We all know that trans is not allowed in the Moslem world. Most likely, she must be a female with higher testosterone, which gives her more muscle strength. Her birth certificate lists her as female and there are pictures of her, during childhood dressed as a girl.

      This should be a lesson to us all. Let’s stop looking for “woke” enemies and consider all the possibilities, before judging. Can you imagine the trauma of this Algerian woman, with so many doubting her gender?

      • The “woke” enemy is real and certainly exists from a wider Christian perspective, as we have seen in our “societal indoctrination camps” (politics, schools, media, and entertainment) in recent years… At times like these it is important to compare what we see and hear in our days to the Scriptural references that have warned for many centuries us about these times we live in:

        Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

        But at the same time, the concept of the “woke enemy” cannot and should not automatically be applied as a Salem witch-hunt either… facts are always important.

        In this case, it is most likely that the Algerian athlete was not treated fairly or properly informed in an honest manner, starting from her own Sports Organization which likely knew about the testosterone issue for years (each country tests/audits for doping regularly), and tried to take advantage of the laxity of the Paris Olympic committee rules this year, which ultimately resulted in this embarrassing and very public situation. I agree with the assessment that the athlete’s treatment in Algeria is not going to be very good going forward…
