After all Christianity is not the most widely excepted religion (under 400 million) in a planet of over 7.5 BILLION inhabitants.

This is the point really; had this obviously been a Dionysian feast, then there would be no practical grounds to make any complaint. The artistic director acknowledged the mockery of Christianity and then an apology was offered. Why be so keen on dismissing Christian concerns?
