It is not enough to apologize, to give back what was stolen
For decades we have been hearing the well-known narrative of German guilt, with which the supposedly…repentant post-war generations of Germans were nurtured , lest they acquire even a modicum of humility before those who forced death or misery in order to feed German economic prosperity. In fact, all Greece is collecting is German hypocrisy.

Unfortunately, Germany with its actions constantly proves that it cannot be a “friend” of Greece , because on every occasion it officially fights or undermines our country and its people. On the contrary, Germany has for centuries maintained warm relations, chained by dirty interests, with Turkey, its historical ally and in the Second World War with the then pro-Nazi Ankara.
Steinmeier, who will go as far as the martyred Kandano , as his predecessor Gauk had done with the Leagues ten years before, is firmly in favor of Turkey joining the EU. Berlin has no qualms about selling weapons to Erdogan either, so he can threaten Greece.
No hypocritical apology is enough for what Germany has been doing to our country for over 80 years now . Actions are required. A good first and minimal step is to return the stolen wealth that the German state and subsequent generations of its prosperous citizens have reaped by depriving our own generations.
Germany, which in 2010 blamed Greece for its debts, never paid off any of its own debts even though it started two world wars. Instead, it was allowed to become a state again with American and European financial aid.
The sight is not new, it is about to become a custom. These days, as in autumn 2018, we have the customary visit of shame from the German president. But when it comes down to it, the billions stolen by one, unified and unchanging Germany, Berlin counts neither humiliation nor shame . The point is to never compensate Athens, which also gives the German president the opportunity to pose every now and then as a “bridge builder” and friend.

Για δεκαετίες ακούμε το γνωστό αφήγημα περί γερμανικής ενοχής, με την οποία γαλουχήθηκαν οι υποτίθεται… μεταμελημένες μεταπολεμικές γενιές Γερμανών, μήπως και αποκτήσουν έστω μια ταπεινότητα μπροστά σε όσους υποχρέωσαν σε θάνατο ή δυστυχία για να ταϊστεί η γερμανική οικονομική ευημερία. Στην πραγματικότητα, η Ελλάδα το μόνο που εισπράττει είναι η γερμανική υποκρισία.

Ο Γερμανός πρόεδρος Στάινμαϊερ φρόντισε και για το σημειολογικό, αν όχι προκλητικό, του πράγματος. Αποφάσισε να έρθει στην Ελλάδα για επίσκεψη σήμερα, μόλις μία μέρα μετά την επέτειο του ΟΧΙ. Πολιτικά πρόσωπα της Ελλάδας σπεύδουν σε τέτοιες περιπτώσεις να μιλήσουν με το ύπουλο δόγμα κατευνασμού για «αλλαγή σελίδας». Ότι «πρέπει να κοιτάξουμε μπροστά». Ότι «έχουν περάσει τόσες δεκαετίες πια και είναι ώρα να προχωρήσουμε».
1. Ο Β’ Παγκόσμιος Πόλεμος στέρησε από την Ελλάδα την πληθυσμιακή της ανάπτυξη. Λόγω των γερμανικών θηριωδιών και του λιμού που επέβαλαν οι ναζί, έχασαν τη ζωή τους 800.000 Ελληνες, σε μια εποχή που η χώρα μας είχε πληθυσμό μόλις 7.300.000. Η Γερμανία, με τη συνενοχή και των ελληνικών κυβερνήσεων, αρνείται καν να συζητήσει το ενδεχόμενο επιστροφής του πλούτου που άρπαξε. Αυτά τα χρήματα στέρησαν από την κατεστραμμένη χώρα μας την ευκαιρία και τα μέσα να ορθοποδήσει τις πρώτες δεκαετίες μετά τον πόλεμο. Να δημιουργήσει υποδομές και βιομηχανία κανονικού κράτους.
3. Η Γερμανία εξήγαγε τη διαφθορά της για να ελέγξει, κυρίως μεταπολεμικά, τις ξένες αγορές με τις εξαγωγές. Νομοθέτησε επίσημα ότι επιτρέπονται οι μίζες σε ξένες κυβερνήσεις και αξιωματούχους από γερμανικές εταιρίες, ώστε αυτές να παίρνουν τις δουλειές. Μια τέτοια περίπτωση, όχι η μοναδική, ήταν το σκάνδαλο Siemens.
4. Η Γερμανία έσπρωξε την Ελλάδα το 2010 στον μνημονιακό γολγοθά, με μοναδικό πραγματικό στόχο, όπως αποδείχθηκε πια, να αλλάξει χέρια η διαφθορά. Το δίδυμο Μέρκελ – Σόιμπλε, εφαρμόζοντας την πάγια και αναλλοίωτη γερμανική πολιτική νόρμα επικυριαρχίας, αποφάσισε και το εξευτελιστικό κλείσιμο τραπεζών το 2015.
5. Η Γερμανία μετατρέπει από το 2016 την Ελλάδα σε «αποθήκη μεταναστών», προκειμένου το Βερολίνο να μην αντιμετωπίζει πολιτικό κόστος από την έκρηξη των ροών. Η δήθεν ευρωπαΐστρια Γερμανία εξακολουθεί να πορεύεται με μεθόδους στραγγαλισμού σε βάρος όσων δεν εξυπηρετούν την αυτοπροστασία της. Δεν διστάζει και πάλι να καταστρέψει οποιονδήποτε, μια χώρα ή και την Ευρώπη. Αρκεί να περνάει το δικό της και να μην πληρώνει καμία συνέπεια.
Δυστυχώς, η Γερμανία με τις πράξεις της αποδεικνύει διαρκώς ότι δεν μπορεί να υπάρξει «φίλος» της Ελλάδας, διότι με κάθε αφορμή πολεμάει επίσημα ή υποσκάπτει τη χώρα μας και τον λαό της. Αντίθετα, η Γερμανία διατηρεί εδώ και αιώνες θερμές σχέσεις, αλυσοδεμένες από βρόμικα συμφέροντα, με την Τουρκία, ιστορικό της σύμμαχο και στον Β’ Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο με την τότε φιλοναζιστική Άγκυρα.
Ο Στάινμαϊερ, που θα πάει μέχρι και στη μαρτυρική Κάνδανο, όπως είχε κάνει με τους Λιγκιάδες δέκα χρόνια πριν ο προκάτοχός του Γκάουκ, τάσσεται σταθερά υπέρ της ένταξης της Τουρκίας στην Ε.Ε. Το Βερολίνο δεν έχει αναστολές ούτε για να πουλάει όπλα στον Ερντογάν, ώστε αυτός να απειλεί την Ελλάδα.
Καμία υποκριτική συγγνώμη δεν είναι αρκετή για όσα προκαλεί η Γερμανία στη χώρα μας για πάνω από 80 χρόνια πια. Απαιτούνται πράξεις. Ένα πρώτο καλό και ελάχιστο βήμα είναι να επιστραφεί ο κλεμμένος πλούτος που καρπώθηκαν το γερμανικό κράτος και οι επόμενες γενιές ευημερούντων πολιτών του, στερώντας τον από τις δικές μας γενιές.
Η Γερμανία, που το 2010 κατηγορούσε την Ελλάδα για τα χρέη της, ποτέ της δεν αποπλήρωσε κανένα δικό της χρέος κι ας ξεκίνησε δύο παγκόσμιους πολέμους. Αντίθετα, της επετράπη να ξαναγίνει κράτος με την αμερικανική και ευρωπαϊκή οικονομική βοήθεια.
Το θέαμα δεν είναι καινούργιο, κοντεύει να γίνει έθιμο. Αυτές τις μέρες, όπως και το φθινόπωρο του 2018, έχουμε την καθιερωμένη επίσκεψη της ντροπής από τον πρόεδρο της Γερμανίας. Ο Στάινμαϊερ εμφανίζεται σε μαρτυρικές τοποθεσίες για να πει λόγια του αέρα, σαν να βγάζει την υποχρέωση περί «διασφάλισης της ιστορικής μνήμης». Φαντασιώνεται, όπως και μέρος του ελληνικού πολιτικού συστήματος, ότι υπάρχει κάποιου είδους «φιλία».
Αλλά, όποτε η κουβέντα έρχεται στην ουσία, στα δισεκατομμύρια που έκλεψε η μια, ενιαία και απαράλλαχτη Γερμανία, το Βερολίνο δεν υπολογίζει ούτε εξευτελισμό ούτε ντροπή. Το ζητούμενο είναι να μην αποζημιώσει ποτέ την Αθήνα, η οποία δίνει και την ευκαιρία στον Γερμανό πρόεδρο να ποζάρει κάθε τόσο ως «γεφυροποιός» και φίλος.

The civil war would not have happened if Greece wasn’t invaded, occupied, starved, robbed and had its meager infrastructure blown up. The country was divided into leftists and rightists. You couldn’t be in the middle. The leftists sprang from the real resistance to the occupation, while the rightists were the collaborators of the Tagmata asfalias, or “germano tsoliades. After liberation, the resistance was hounded as being communists, while the traitors were the “heroes”
Hey Bobbie , you got this right , but you left out against the White Supremacist British War Criminal Churchill who after the Communist you talked about single handily move the Nazi out of Greece , Churchill sent brigades of Troops from England were sent to Greece to restore the Monarchy and disarm the Greek Army filled with the communist resistance forces ! Hey Helleniscope ..maybe you could tell the Dirty little Secret , how on December 6th , 1944, British troops and Greek Police opened fire on unarmed Greeks celebrating the victory of Nazi , Germany and praising Stalin and all the Allied leaders! The were shot because they included Communist resistant GreeK forces, it was this and then British aircraft straffing Greek forces presumed to be Communist ! And that is how the civil war erupted , and that practice has been used against all foreign countries by U.S and Britain! So Bobby , you were right, but you will never hear it from me.
The communists did NOT chase the Germans out of Greece. They ruled the mountains, but none of the cities. The reason the Germans left was because they didn’t want to be trapped in Southern Europe by the advancing Soviet army.
The Dekembriana did not happen while Greeks were celebrating the liberation of Greece. They had already done that back in October, when the liberation happened. The massacre happened because of a huge protest, that caused panic to the Greek police guarding the police station near Syntagma square. That was how protests were put down back then. The subsequent battle of Athens, pitting the British forces in Greece, aided by the Greek taxiarchia that had fought in Rimini, Italy, looked bad for Greece. The allies were still fighting the Germans. Here was Greece, the first country to resist the fascists. fighting against their allies. Yes, Churchill was a supporter of the monarchy. He wanted the king back on his throne. But he also kept Greece out of the Soviet sphere.
The calculations cited in the article above are not correct. If we are looking at a serious “invoice” for reparations, it should be calculated as follows:
1) 3 years of “confiscation of Greece’s GDP” (output) to be repurposed by the nazi war machine. In today’s money, that is 3 x annual GDP alone, = 3 x 200 Billion Euros (measured in 2022) = 600 Billion Euros.
2) 800,000 murders (starvation / execution / etc) x 1,000,000 Euros compensation for each life taken = 800 Billion Euros. (1 million per life is conservative, especially when we are talking about the violations of conventions, including cruel starvation of the population, etc)
3) Loss of future GDP over the next 25 years due to mass migrations after the war (the Marshall Plan didn’t come out of the German budget, by the way)…let’s be conservative, and say there are 4,000,000 descendants globally of those who migrated after WW2 due to “conditions” left behind, who may have produced additional GDP in Greece…again, conservatively, in today’s terms, let’s say an average of an additional 20% GDP was lost as a result per year for 25 years…200 Billion x 20% x 25 = 1 Trillion Euros.
4) Environmental catastrophies, including the burning of farmlands and entire forests (yes, the Germans burned forests in an effort to reduce hiding places for freedom fighters), cultural catastrophies including the burning of Byzantine monasteries (Stomio & others), war crimes such as theft of valuables & antiquities, , violence, etc… add another 300 billion Euros to the pile….
So what do we have as a grand total with this “back of the napkin” calculation?
2.7 TRILLION Euros…
That’s why the Germans don’t want this wound to be scratched. It would destroy their economy forever, especially when other European countries follow suit…
