EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis). What a dramatic turn of events! This morning AG nominee Matt Gaetz withdrew his bid to become Attorney General, drawing some pessimistic comments from the MAGA crowd. However, a few minutes ago this evening, Pam Bondi, a former Florida AG (2011-19), born and raised in the Tampa area, and a Trump loyalist, was picked… Bingo!! She will not be as flashy as Matt Gaetz, but she is sure to wreak havoc on the establishment and the swamp creatures ruling the Justice Department. Her confirmation by the Senate will surely be easy given her legal/prosecutorial experience – which Matt Gaetz lacked. By the way, she is very close to the Greek-American community.
And what will happen to Matt Gaetz? No worries. There are many ideas, one better than the other. First, Florida Governor De Santis can appoint him to replace Marc Rubnio in the Senate. Then, what if Trump makes him FBI director? There are many other options of course. One of them is to be picked by Bondi as her chief of staff, a powerful position in the DOJ…

Trump picks former Florida AG Pam Bondi to replace Gaetz
President-elect Donald Trump went from one Floridian to another Thursday, announcing that former Sunshine State Attorney General Pam Bondi would be his new pick to lead the Justice Department, hours after former nominee Matt Gaetz withdrew his name from consideration.
“For too long, the partisan Department of Justice has been weaponized against me and other Republicans – Not anymore,” Trump, 78, said in a statement on Truth Social. “Pam will refocus the DOJ to its intended purpose of fighting Crime, and Making America Safe Again. I have known Pam for many years — She is smart and tough, and is an AMERICA FIRST Fighter, who will do a terrific job as Attorney General!”
Gaetz, 42, was announced as Trump’s attorney general-designate Nov. 13, but withdrew earlier Thursday after failing to persuade a majority of Republican senators to support him.
