John Catsimatides’ political ambitions are not new… And his daughter Andrea’s publicity chase is nothing new either. So, celebrating Christmas at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, a New York City landmark across from Rockefeller Center, brings all these “prerequisites” together…
With one little problem, though… It’s a little problem that deserves explanation. John Catsimatides is the V.P. of the Archdiocesan Council of GOARCH. In other words, he is the #2 in our Church’s hierarchy, after the Archbishop. Doesn’t he think his presence at Midnight Mass for Christmas at the Catholic Cathedral needs to be explained?
Did he get the OK from Elpidophoros? Ha…Ha… Who are we kidding? First, I do not think he would ever bring himself to ask the Archbishop… Second, even if he did, he would get many blessings from both Elpidophoros and Bartholomew!! Especially now as they are planning for a common Easter next year!!!
We are not holding our breath for any explanations… We know the answer…
We are heading fast for the final stage of the demise of this Church, which will be “merging with declining Catholicism”. At a time when many Christians are thirsty for originality and want to go back to the original “Well of Faith”, which is Orthodox Christianity, Globalist pawns Elpidophoros and Bartholomew – and all “Archons” (in name only) behind them are jumping head first off the cliff of faithlessness…

I left GOARCH 30 years ago for ROCOR! Never looked back! ROCOR bishops are genuine bishops, who live as the monks they are supposed to be.
This is what we are hearing left and right… Many Greeks have left for good for ROCOR… Most well-known names that come to mind are Federal Judge Stephaos Bibas, who, as I hear, serves as a priest in a NJ parish and our friend Jim Yatras…
That’s not the Greek way! I mean to leave and abandon our church to the heretic faithless. We have to stay and fight, or else we will lose everything…
Elpidoforos doesn’t care if we leave our churches, because he can fill them easily with other Orthodox ethnicities, Arabs, Ethiopians, Romanian, Georgian, Ukrainians, etc. or with Episcopalians that flee their church massively because of the LGBTQ issue…

Blanket statements are great, until we understand what has historically transpired during past Schisms and heresies, including iconoclasm and Arianism (ref: the story of St. Gregory the Theologian in Constantinople).
We need 3 “good bishops” for an Orthodox Church to survive heresy & schism, because it is Canonical order to require 3 bishops to ordain a new bishop. Please name 3 “good bishops” (who haven’t compromised their hierarchical obligations and faith) in GOARCH that the faithful can “follow” right now, so that they are “safe” from the Uniate movement. We have said it in the past…there are many “able men” who could be bishops, but the corrupt “system” (including in the Church of Greece and Cyprus) is not allowing them to be elevated to bishop (plenty of articles and examples have been provided on this topic in the past).
Depriving the corrupt ones of their money stream would be a simple solution to remove them (that’s how Spyridon was removed), but with the likes of Catsimatides (who from the images appears to have already adopted Union) and other wealthy donors floating any GOARCH and Patriarchal budget shortfalls into the future, it is unlikely that a mass exodus of faithful will be effective in this light.
Furthermore, regarding your other comment of “treason” below, how exactly does this quote from Titus 3:10 reconcile with your viewpoint:

The quote says to abandon/quit a heretic man, doesn’t say that we should abandon/quit the church our ancestors built and hand it over to the heretic man!
You can’t logically follow a bishop that has already “abandoned” the church via heretical action / teaching / belief. It’s not about “handing over”. The church buildings are “taken over” by default when a bishop becomes heretical, especially when the Synod doesn’t do anything about it. Do you follow the wolf in sheepskin at that point? That’s the question here…you can’t blame those who answer “No” to that question.
However, there is a solution if aggregate willingness exists…If the people were as zealous today as the people of Constantinople were in 1439 when they jeered and publicly humiliated the delegation of treasonous bishops, and rejected the “subjugation to the Pope” that the latter signed, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation right now. If the people rejected the spiritual imposters “en masse”, they wouldn’t be able to show their face in public. However, where is that zeal for tradition this modern sea of “complacency” and “luke-warmness”? Let’s not kid ourselves here…

I hope at some point courageous people in GOARCH will do the same. The shrinking of GOARCH will hurt the OC because I do not think all Greeks that leave will go to ROCOR. Some of them will just stop going to Church. Those that go to St. Patrick Cathedral instead are not real orthodox. Let’s be serious.

What you say is not true. If the Greek Orthodox Church was an ethnic ghetto, why so many people from other ethnicities attend it or want to join?
The truth is that the ecumenists masons who govern it with their heretic actions made a lot of Greeks leave. Something that in my opinion is also wrong. Our ancestors didn’t build these churches for us to hand them over to the heretics. We must stay in our churches and fight till we kick out the heretics and take back the control of them.
Now the heretics try to dehellenize our churches, inviting more ethnicities and other denominations. And when the Greeks will end up being a minority in their Greek Orthodox Churches, next thing the ecumenists will eliminate is the Greek language…

My concern is with the OC, not the other denominations. I don’t have time to write long massages and shame everyone and I won’t. God will judge them. And I agree Greek Orthodox Christians of America should not leave their churches unless there are serious problems in their churches that makes it very difficult for them to stay. Their ancestors worked hard to build these Churches. Where I am my issue is that the name of Patr. Barto is commemorated and because of what is happening in Ukraine, I just can’t stand hearing his name. One time I got so upset that I just stayed home and didn’t go to any church because of the stealing of the canonical OCs and beating up the Ukrainian Orthodox. Not a legitimate excuse to miss church when I have other options a little further away. So next year, I will not be 100% in this church but I will split my time here and in other churches that don’t have this patriarch. I am waiting to see what happens in Nicaea and then decide if I leave for good or not. I would probably tough it out longer and stay if I was a Greek in a Greek church. But I am not Greek and I am not going to a Greek church.
Metr. Neophytos who I greatly respect said that the Church is not Bartolomew and not Kirill. So let’s not forget this, it is very important to listen to holy men and not start leaving churches on our own, without consulting with a spiritual father! But for me the situation is a little different and I am sorry to say that hearing the name of the Patr. is a distraction and it’s painful to hear because I am on the side of those people that are abused in their own country thanks to our patriarch.
Also, Fr. Ephraim from AZ advised Greeks NOT to leave their churches because of what happens in Ukraine, that God will fix this in the future, and he said a lot more but I don’t have time to write. YOu can find his videos on youtube.

It’s a very strange comment coming from a bishop, to say that Orthodox Christians are united by Liturgy rather than by the bishop. There are plenty of schismatics who meticulously pray the same Liturgy and are not in communion with Orthodox Christians. And what about the Western Rite folks in ROCOR?

He is NOT referring to the schismatics at all! He only recognizes Metr. Onuphry in Ukraine. Of course the all schismatics are not included in this category since they are outside the Church. So consider this statement only for the canonical Orthodox Churches which are the only ones that serve valid Liturgies.
What makes the Liturgy valid and canonical? Is it not the bishop?
What would a bishop or patriarch be, without offering the liturgy? The Liturgy is so important that it holds the whole earth! If the bishop or patriarch die, they can be replaced. The Liturgy can not be replaced. There are saints that say that if the Liturgy will end being served, the world will end. So even if a bishop like Elpi creates much division, or a patr like Barto creates not only division but a disaster that hurts the canonical OC in Ukraine, it is still the Liturgy that unites all people. Liturgy is heavenly inspired and unites, no matter what. Just because Barto is a patriarch does not mean that the bishops he ordained in Ukraine are canonical, which in turn makes their liturgies invalid, not to mention that it also did not unite anyone but brought a second war in Ukraine in which the Christians are terrorized. Do you think that patr Bartolomew united anyone in Ukraine, or is it the Liturgies of the canonical biships in Ukraine that unite the people of Ukraine?

The canonical church in Ukraine (UOC) is recognized by the majority of the orthodox world local churches. UOC is recognized but Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, Albania, Serbia, Rocor, OCA, Etc
OCU on the other hand is an invention of the Patr. Bartolomew that is recognized only by him and a handful of bishops. He brought nothing but sorrow to the Orthodox Ukrainians people. Patr. Of Jerusalem, Serbia, Bulgaria, and many bishops have criticized him but he seems to be on a power trip and doesn’t care. The OCU has stolen over 1500 churches ( which are now empty and locked up because the faithful did not follow the fake priests for the most part), beat up priests, bishops, elderly, monks, burned churches, stole church items, burned icons, stole lighing fixtures and everything else they could steal including Metropolitan Theodosy’s vestments, Crosses, Killed faithgul that wanted to protect their churches, broke bones, skulls, burned eyes, etc (the list is very long!) and you think he is uniting us when his OCU “priests” are doing this?
THey are doing cooking shows, movies and dances–even dances with people dressed in devils and demons, yes, in the churches they steal from the real orthodox instead of Liturgy. I could write at least 10 pages and that will only be a brief summary. So please don’t get me started with this because I have followed the situation very closely and unity is not what Barto brought to Ukraine. And I can back up all of this because it is well documented. A documentary is coming out this year so you can educate yourself of how Barto brought “Unity” to Ukraine. Metropolitan Arseny is rotting in prison since before last Easter so they could still his churches. Even politicians wanted to vouch for him to be released but no such luck. He will be kept in jail, in order to silence him, with no trial, so that Barto can continue to steal churches and bring us “unity”/

As we get closer to the Easter of 2025, do you have any doubt that we will have Catholic “visitors” in our churches? A few months ago Elpi brought a Catholic cardinal in a church and the cardinal started throwing holly water on the astonished Orthodox people. They were caught by surprise. Now we know, that it was just a rehearsal. So, we have to be there to show our disapproval. If we are absent, it is like giving our consent…
And to those who think that if the Greeks leave, the churches will be empty, I will say that as easily they replace the population of Greece with illegal immigrants, they can fill the Greek Orthodox churches with no Greeks…
Why didn’t those “astonished ones” who were present immediately yell “anaxios”, and ask both Elpidophoros and the Cardinal to exit the building, or at least leave the two of them alone with an empty building to preach to? Why did they allow the Cardinal to start sprinkling, or two days later “incensing” the faithful? Passive “astonishment” isn’t going to produce any results.
Where do you see a “battle” or “ταμπουρι” or even anyone “resisting” the travesties that we are seeing? Whether they speak Greek or not, they have already surrendered when they remain silent, lukewarm and passive. Remember the troparion from Holy Week “Βλεπε ουν ψυχη μου, μη τω υπνω κατενεχθης”….That was my point above…in 1439 the people were vigilant, and they actively rejected the corrupt, treasonous hierarchs. In 2024, that’s not happening.
I only know of one case in Detroit a few years back where after the service, someone from Greece confronted and complained the metropolitan for bringing a “heretic Cardinal” to address the Orthodox faithful at the Resurrection service, and the metropolitan angrily yelled back at the individual, expressing the “Hierarchical” opinion that the Cardinal is NOT a heretic. On that critical day, had the entire parish sided with the lone person from Greece who protested, maybe that metropolitan would have been “humiliated”, and his peers taken notice to not imitate the scene in the future…So why didn’t the others join in? As a result of collective passivity, now we observe in Detroit, Boston, New York (and elsewhere) that Cardinals are showing up all over the place…who is actively resisting this phenomenon live when it happens?
Ultimately the solution is to educate the faithful on their “rights”, as well as to starve out the cancer via the “power of the purse”. Despite the propagandist fear-mongering exaggerations that are being spewed by some “neo-theologians” claiming that “the bishop is the Church”, and that “the people have no say”, at the end of the day a lone bishop is not allowed to serve liturgy alone. The people are a material construct of the Church, and Divine Liturgy is for the faithful. The people need to understand this and start believing it, as well as educate themselves on how the various Greek Synods have deceptively managed to remove the laity from the process of electing bishops…this was not the case historically or even Canonically. If they don’t want a heretical bishop, the people can reject and replace that bishop if they really want to (like in 1439, but also because the Canons call for the laity’s participation in the election of a bishop), but that will never happen when the majority of the people remain in a lethargic, lukewarm, passive state of mind, and as long as the money keeps coming into the coffers…
(So this has nothing to do with “Greeks leaving”, but more to do with “the passive faithful waking up”…if they are able to any more….)
Patriot Greeks who are baptized Greek Orthodox must get involved and run for your parish council. Take it over! Make sure the Greek language is taught to kids and in the liturgy. Also, create a Greek cultural association to gather Greeks for Greek activities. Stop the Globalists in the church!
Spartacus…I have news for you; most of the American Greeks drumming the beat of Hellenism in the GOA are globalists. Who we need more involved in parish council are the members that choose to live Orthodoxy and take the faith seriously. We have allowed cultural Orthodox people to take over our GOA Churches.
It’s true. At the church I go there are a lot of liberals that voted for Biden and don’t have a problem with abortion. I don’t think they would want me on the parish council! They chose people like them. And even if I would somehow get on the council, I’d be a minority, and I would not be able to make any kind of impact. They were very very sad that Trump won, even the priest. The atmosphere was much worse than when a parish member dies!

I would have left immediately and certainly I would have not allowed a cardinal to sprinkle me with Holy Water. That’s absolutely ridiculous! If I would want a cardinal to sprinkle me with holy water I would go to a catholic church. It’s an interesting point you are making in the end: “they can fill the Greek Orthodox churches with no Greeks…” Well, maybe even worse, they can fill them with no orthodox… or leave them empty like in Ukraine or fill them with fake orthodox… That would be a even bigger disaster. I didn’t think about that possibility, but certainly they could fill them with Catholics and other denominations as well. But they can do this even if they have Greeks in them too. Once the catholic cardinals come, catholic faithful may follow.
That’s why we are responsible to guard our Churches. I have never met Elpi but I have read so much bad stuff about him that I would not go to a church if I would know he would be there. Not even if he is the only clergy left on earth and I am on my death bed and need my last confession. I would just avoid him as if I would not go to my Church if a cardinal, Elpi, Barto, etc would come. No way! Our ancestors paid for our faith to be preserved often with their blood, torture, jail, martyrdom, etc and I am not going to be a traitor. THey would have never accepted compromises like this. Can you imagine St. Paisios allowing a cardinal to sprinkle him with holy water?
I think we have to judge the situation on case by case basis because if the cardinal doesn’t show all the time, this could have been avoided by not participating in services only on the day he was there. But if a cardinal would be present in my church every day, then I would avoid that church all together and go somewhere else. Unfortunately, there are more and more of those co-celebrations. We have to ask our conscious how far we can compromise. There are prophecies that at the end the churches will be marvelous, but we can no longer enter them. It becomes clearer and clearer why we won’t be able to enter them…

I am of course blocked by the gay communist on Twitter even though I never commented on the man’s page. I looked on Facebook but there is no updates on social media to tell us the news. Only pictures of church and political things.Notice that the gay communist moderator allows all the comments against Republican people without blocking them. woe to the hypocrites as the lord said.
