EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis).  This is a MUST-WATCH interview by someone who knows what is going on with Ukraine’s ecclesiastical and religious issues better than anyone and has spent the last few years collecting evidence… He speaks the truth, and he can prove it!!! All the proof of you, doubters of the crimes, is here! And I am sure he will be present in the Court for the Ukro-Nazis and other criminals to be established (similar to the Nurenberg Tribunal) in the months after the end of the War… Which is coming in the next few weeks and months…  The time of justice is near… Here are his main points, but I strongly recommend watching the interview.

  • Repression in Ukraine: Amsterdam described Ukraine as “the single most repressive country” he has encountered, challenging the prevalent narrative of Ukraine as a democratic nation.

  • Persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC): He highlighted the Ukrainian government’s aggressive actions against the UOC, including raids on churches, arrests of clergy, and proposals to ban the church entirely. Despite the UOC severing ties with the Moscow Patriarchate in May 2022, the government continues to accuse it of Russian affiliations.

  • Suppression of Religious Freedom: Amsterdam expressed concern over the criminalization of legitimate religious debate in Ukraine, noting that clergy members face charges for allegedly “offending the religious feelings of Ukrainians.” He emphasized that such actions undermine fundamental human rights and freedoms.

  • Lack of International Response: He criticized the international community, particularly Western leaders and Christian organizations, for their silence on these issues. Amsterdam found it shocking that countries like the United States, known for strong Christian leadership, have not condemned the Ukrainian government’s interventions for political purposes.

  1. I thank Tucker for exposing the atrocities against UOC early on when few even knew about it. God bless him for being true to himself and God.

  2. Extremely important interview, but for those who want a quick highlight of what the details are about, from the 7th minute, there is some very interesting language is being used… :)

Whether people like him or not, Tucker has a very large listening audience, and these details may be reaching many folks for the first time ever…that’s extremely important right now.

However, this same publicity is going to become a huge problem for the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and it would be interesting to see if the previously reported “Poroshenko money trail” gets publicly exposed as a result of the parallel government audits we are hearing about in the media these days… There is still time for all the architects of this “tomos” to resign (EVERYONE that backed up Bartholomew on it and concelebrated with Epiphanios), so that a new, “untainted Synod” can do the right thing and revoke it, and thus repair the terrible “Bartholomaic Schism” that we sadly witnessed in our days…

I respect you knowledge on religious matters. And your straightforward way of delivering it. Maybe you can clear up this question that I have, if Nick doesnt delete my post:
Orthodoxy is split into National churches. Russia did it first, about 30 years after after the Byzantine empire was obliterated. Greece followed suit after her independence. Then, the other newly liberated countries of the Ottoman empire, such as Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia also established their own patriarchates.

We learn in Greek history the partisan way that Bulgarian priests and I am sure Greeks also, to the point of blessing killings of women and children of the opposite camp, during the Macedonian struggle.
Both Orthodox nations, desecrating churches of the enemy and turning them into stables to obliterate any sign of previous occupants of the other ethnic side.

Why can’t the Ukrainians have their own ethnic church, but be under the Moscow patriarchate, which is also opposed to Ukrainian independence. How would us, Greeks or even Macedonians in former Bulgarian Macedonia feel iof Bulgarian religious authorities ruled over them> Greeks broke from the patriarchate because it is in located in their former enemie’s city. Even though that patriarchate is lead by one of our own.

      • Bob, even if we ignore the historical facts that Constantinople decided to put Ukraine under the Moscow Patriarchate over three centuries ago, the only acceptable way for Ukraine to get “Autocephaly” would be with a Panorthodox Synod. this is at the heart of the issue.
Everything else that you mention is a distraction.

        • Nick. Considering the fact that nations were not independent then, but all being a part of an empire, with Ukraine being part of the Russian empire and of course falling under the Moscow patriarchate, as was Greece part of the Ottoman empire, while now empires have morphed into nations.

. The panorthodox synod in order to grant autocephaly, that you mentioned is something that I wasn’t aware of. But such a synod is impossible to convene, let alone agree on any subject, especially a national church being formed, which would be opposed by the church that is the “victim” of such independence. Of course no one would expect Moscow patriarchate to agree to a demand for an independent church.

Moreover, all the other Orthodox churches, such as the Russian one, broke away without obtaining such a synodical agreement. The Bulgarian church broke away notwithstanding Konstantinople’s objections, until it was eventually recognized as independent about 50 years after breaking away. They created a fait accompli

          • BOB STOP… The late Archbishop Anastasios, arguably the wisest Orthodox hierarch or theologian argued for a Pan-orthodox Synod in two letters to Corrupt Pat. Bartholomew, letters that will remain forever part of Orthodox history.
            Here is one…
            https://orthodoxtimes.com/archbishop-of-albania-calls-for-a-pan-orthodox-council-for-the-orthodox-church-crisis-in-ukraine/
You of course are such a spirit of useless contrarianism that you believe you have a better argument than Anastasios…
At some point you have to give up this bs…

          • The link itself says the same thing I said. I copy and paste. “At the same time, the Church of Albania reminds its criticism directed at the Church of Russia for denying participating in the Pan-Orthodox Council in Crete and the rush to severe full communion with the Ecumenical Patriarchate.””

So, how can a council be convened two years later, after the Ukraine war has already begun and Moscow is not in a compromising mood and has already not participated two years earlier. ? You know Russia would have turned it down.

You have to stop with your one-sidedness and your always ready put down of the Patriarch. I am not against criticism, but not one based on some kind of prejudice against one of our own, who is isolated in enemy territory, but holding up a two thousand year old tradition of our common civilization. Sure he makes mistakes. He’s not God. Even though God makes plenty of those also.

          • BOB – NO MATTER HOW YOU SLICE IT THE FACT REMAINS THAT BARTHOLOMERW HAD NO RIGHT BY HIMSELF TO GIVE AUTOCEPHALY TO UKRAINE. HE GOT BRIBED WITH OVER $20 MILION AND HE DID IT. AND NOW HJE WILL BE PUNISHED DEARLY FOR HIS SIN. PERIOD – END OF STORY.

          • BOB:
Why criticize Helleniscope of what you do: Being one sided? You are always taking Patr. Bartolomew’ side even though almost the entire OC points out he is wrong on this issue, and most of the OC does not recognize his schismatic structure? DO you think you might be wrong on this or you would rather believe that almost the entire OC is wrong? Hmmmmm….

Just because Patr. Barto is in “enemy territory” doesn’t mean he has the right to behave like a pope and do whatever he wants, and ignore most of the OC bishops, monastics, and patriarchs etc that do not agree with him. HE IS NOT THE CHURCH, he is just one among EQUALS, no matter if first or last, he is still only ONE and he can’t decide for the entire OC, that means he can’t decide the fate of UOC, on his own.

The two thousand year old tradition had nothing to do with Barto. Let’s be serious, he was not around that long.

But perhaps most telling of how confused you are on the matter:
“Sure he makes mistakes. He’s not God. Even though God makes plenty of those also.”

Seriously, you think that God makes plenty of mistakes? Are you even orthodox? Wow!

        • What would Bartholomeau do with $20 mil? He’s close to death. Is he going on trips to tropical islands? Is he riding around in a Masserati? Is he eating steaks every day? Is he wearing Italian suits? If someone had access to that kind of loot, you would know it. In Greece the saying is “You can’t hide coughing and wealth”

          • Why don’t you ask him? Why don’t you ask him why he visits often Switzerland where his barber brother lives and where his bank accounts are?
Why don’t you ask him why the “Pashas” blackmail him? What do they know about him and demand so much money?

Do you want me to continue?

      • Bob,

The Patriarchate of Constantinople in the 1800s was TOTALLY AGAINST Ethnophyletism, which was exactly a “divide & conquer” of Orthodoxy. Ethnophyletism was basically anathematized by that Synod. However, Bartholomew ignored and reversed this position, and has ravaged the prior status quo in a terrible way, with “tomos” after “tomos”.

Having said that, the Ukrainians did have a fairly autonomous situation going on with Ounoufry. However, that didn’t seem to be sufficient for the International puppeteers , one of them being the Vatican, which had been waging warfare against Orthodoxy in the Ukrainian lands since the 1600s. People are focused on Kiev vs. Moscow in this “tomos” thing, but they fail to see the real root cause…a “pro-Vatican” Constantinople colluding with the “Vatican” to legitimize schismatics that have a ton of Uniates within their ranks. The long game here (30-50-100 years) was and is the desire for a total take-over of the Ukraine by “clergy” that would be more open to conceding to and UNITING WITH the Vatican’s vision of the ecclesiastical world order. Unfortunately Constantinople has a fair amount of hierarchs within it that already share that vision of Union. There are plenty of photographs/videos out there showing such hierarchs “kissing the hand of the Pope”, bringing Cardinals to Orthodox services to “bless” the flock with censers and sermons, a thing that St. Nektarios (a real hierarch) would have never done.

The Bulgarians have always been a rough crowd, and you can’t consider their clergy under WW1 and WW2 regimes as being loyal to Orthodox principles over “dictatorial ethnocentric principles”…(wolves in sheepskins basically, during those years)

So Bob, that’s the angle that you really need to “see”, and then everything will fall into place.

        • Nick, if you plan on deleting this, which was time consuming to write, please, send it to Markos directly and ask him to reply on my email.

          • Bob, Sorry but neither I nor Markos have limitless time to talk for the sake of talking… We need to earn a living and conteributing to Helleniscope is a hobby.

  3. I think the whole interview was great! Even for someone listening to this interview that is not familiar with the situation, Amsterdam explained things very well. The only place he could have added some more info IMHO is to explain what the Lavra is, as many westerners have no clue about the significance of this holy place. There are amazing documentaries about this holy place and if he would have added more info, many people may become intrigued and would want to search it. But both Tucker and Amsterdam did a great job in exposing the crimes, lies, and money used for unorthodox purpose by US government. Needless to say, neither of them are orthodox! And neither are Trump and Vance orthodox.
I see this interview mentioned on other orthodox websites, which is great. And thanks to Helleniscope for posting it. The louder the info gets out there, everywhere, the more impossible is for the crooks to contain it.
And of course, the blind will never see that it is very undemocratic (of US) and uncanonical (of Patr. Bartolomew) to interfere and attempt to crush the canonical UOC like this, and make up a fake state church and expect the pious Ukrainians to just jump ship and leave their canonical bishops behind and be ok with it… Or who can expect for the canonical bishops, loyal to UOC, to just wake up one day, to just join an uncanonical state structure?
I don’t know who cooked this up, but it doesn’t make any sense… I said from the beginning the transition from UOC to OCU will never happen… Yet I have met clergy here in the US under Patr. Bartolomew that tried to convince me that through dialog they were hoping to solve this. To me it’s a paradox. If someone comes to my house and beats me up and steals my house from me… what dialog can we have?

  4. Elon Musk and his DOGE may uncover the documents and receipt that will allow us to draw conclusions about a number of events affecting the Orthodox Church The many visits of the likes of Gregory Pyatt, Mike Pompeo
and other U.S. government officials to Greek Orthodox leaders in Athens, New York City, Alexandria, and Jerusalem as well as to Ukranian prelates in Kiev. There is also the occurrence of the huge financial problems at the GOA. Then the creation of the schismatic church in Ukraine, the choice of Epiphanios to head the Ukranian entity, and many events designed to isolate the Moscow Patriarchate from Ukranian Orthodoxy and the rest of the Church.I believe more evidence is needed before one can conclusively connect all these things. Is Elon Musk about to uncover the evidence? Then what will happen?
