EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis). This is one of the best interviews with Jim Jatras!! In the recent episode of The Kim Iversen Show titled “Why Ukraine Will Burn—And Trump Can’t Do a Thing About It,” he delves into the ongoing Ukraine conflict, discussing the limitations of former President Donald Trump’s influence over the situation. The episode discusses the intensifying situation in Ukraine, highlighting the challenges faced by the country amid ongoing hostilities.

  • Trump’s Limited Influence: There are serious constraints on Trump’s ability to impact the conflict: geopolitical dynamics and entrenched interests limit his capacity to alter the course of events significantly.

  • U.S. Foreign Policy is ineffective: The discussion includes a critical analysis of U.S. foreign policy decisions related to Ukraine, questioning the effectiveness and motivations behind certain actions.

Jatras expressed justified concerns about the U.S. State Department’s involvement in ecclesiastical matters, such as the recognition of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, viewing such actions as attempts to weaken the Russian Orthodox Church and, by extension, Russian cultural and spiritual influence.

No analysis of Ukraine is valid unless it recognizes that the West, since the very beginning with the book of Samuel Huntington (early 1990s) “Clash of Civilizations”, aimed to undermine the foundations of Russian culture and ethnicity, which is Orthodoxy, and they used Patriarch Bartholomew to achieve this goal.
