Sinai Damianos: “He asks for the intervention of the Parliament”
Archbishop Damianos of Sinai places his hopes in the Greek Parliament for the protection of the property of the Sinai Monastery.
This emerges from the letter he sent to the President of the Parliament, Nikitas Kaklamanis, on the issue of the Holy Monastery of Saint Catherine of Sinai.
Archbishop Damianos requests the convening of the Committees on Educational Affairs, National Defense and Foreign Affairs and Hellenism in the Diaspora of the Parliament in order to inform the Greek Parliament.
It is noted that Archbishop Damianos refers in his letter to the corresponding letter from Kaklamanis.
The action and argumentation of the President of the Parliament is referred to as “extremely important” and it is underlined that: “the parameters set out in your letter are crucial and can ensure a positive outcome for us in the case”.
At the same time, he expresses his satisfaction for the identification of views on such a serious issue, underlining: “we are happy because we are under the same belief that it is not possible for a court decision to erase the law and history of 15 centuries, the truth and culture and to distort a reality that even barbaric conquerors respected”.
The Archbishop of Sinai also points out his trust in Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Gerapetritis, for the “negotiation process”.

Σιναίου Δαμιανός: «Ζητά την παρέμβαση της Βουλής»
Στην ελληνική Βουλή εναποθέτει τις ελπίδες του για την προστασία της ιδιοκτησίας της Μονής Σινά ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Σιναίου Δαμιανός.
Αυτό προκύπτει από την επιστολή που απέστειλε στον πρόεδρο της Βουλής, Νικήτα Κακλαμάνη για το ζήτημα της Ιεράς Μονής Αγίας Αικατερίνης Σινά.
Ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Δαμιανός ζητά τη σύγκληση των Επιτροπών Μορφωτικών Υποθέσεων, Εθνικής Άμυνας και Εξωτερικών Υποθέσεων και Ελληνισμού της Διασποράς της Βουλής για να ενημερωθεί το ελληνικό Κοινοβούλιο.
Επισημαίνεται ότι ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Δαμιανός στην επιστολή του αναφέρεται στην αντίστοιχη επιστολή Κακλαμάνη.
Η ενέργεια και η επιχειρηματολογία του προέδρου της Βουλής, αναφέρεται «ως εξόχως σημαντική» και υπογραμμίζεται ότι: «οι παράμετροι, οι οποίες τίθενται στην επιστολή Σας είναι καίριοι και μπορούν να εξασφαλίσουν θετική προς ημάς έκβαση της υποθέσεως».
Παράλληλα, εκφράζει την ικανοποίησή του για την ταύτιση απόψεων επί ενός τόσο σοβαρού θέματος, υπογραμμίζοντας: «χαιρόμεθα διότι εχόμεθα υπό της αυτής πεποιθήσεως, ότι δεν είναι δυνατόν μία δικαστική απόφαση να διαγράψει το δίκαιο και την ιστορία 15 αιώνων, την αλήθεια και τον πολιτισμό και να διαστρέψει μια πραγματικότητα την οποίαν και βάρβαροι κατακτητές εσεβάσθησαν».
Ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Σιναίου, επισημαίνει ακόμη την εμπιστοσύνη του προς τον Κυριάκο Μητσοτάκη και τον υπουργό Εξωτερικών Γιώργο Γεραπετρίτη, για τη «διαπραγματευτική διαδικασία».
