Helleniscope was the only Greek media voice to demand this recognition from Israel in recent years, while we played a leading role (in collaboration with Congressman Billirakis’ office and many community organizations) in passing HR 296, which recognized the Armenian, Assyrian and Greek Genocides.

On August 6, Helleniscope stood alone among all Greek and Greek-American media in demanding—loudly and clearly in our headline—that Israel recognize the Armenian and Greek genocides. Yesterday, in an interview with journalist Patrick Bet-David (of Armenian descent), Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu finally acknowledged the Armenian, Assyrian, and Greek genocides. Yet he also falsely claimed that the Israeli Knesset had already recognized the Armenian Genocide—a blatant lie that no serious leader could make, least of all the sitting prime minister, who should know the truth.
Israel today finds itself more isolated internationally than ever before, even losing broad public support within the United States. Netanyahu’s sudden recognition is not accidental: it reflects the tremendous pressure Israel now faces on every front. The once-unquestioned “Holocaust tool” has finally been demolished as a shield for Tel Aviv’s policies. This shift comes only weeks after Israel’s stunning military defeat, when Iranian hypersonic missiles penetrated the much-touted Iron Dome, devastating nearly 40% of Tel Aviv, destroying most of Israel’s ports, and inflicting crippling blows on its defense industry.
It bears remembering that the very term genocide—in its full significance under international law—was coined on the factual foundations of the Armenian Genocide. For Israel to tout the Holocaust for eight decades while remaining silent on the Armenian and Greek genocides was a total disgrace.
Helleniscope is proud to have been an enthusiastic protagonist, alongside many Greek-American community organizations, in the 2018–2019 effort to secure U.S. recognition of these genocides—an effort led by Congressman Gus Bilirakis. That work culminated in the passage of HR 296, which explicitly recognized the Armenian, Assyrian, and Greek genocides in the first paragraph. It should be noted that Jewish-American organizations had recognized these Genocides and assisted in the passage of HR 296.
And let us be clear: AHEPA had no participation whatsoever in this historic effort—none at all. Neither did the so-called “Archons of Disaster.” They should be ashamed to eternity. Today, they pose for photos with failed Patriarch Bartholomew, the leader of the “Turkish Religious Institution” called the Patriarchate (which is a tool of the Turkish Deep State), pretending to act. But when the community needed them most, when they had the chance to lead, they were utterly nonexistent.

Netanyahu’s historic statement: Recognize the genocide of Greeks, Armenians and Assyrians by the Turks!
Benjamin Netanyahu made a particularly serious and important statement on Tuesday .
More specifically, the Prime Minister of Israel , during a discussion, recognized the genocide of the Pontic Greeks, Armenians and Assyrians by the Ottoman Empire at the beginning of the 20th century!
Recognition
Netanyahu, speaking on Patrick Bet David’s podcast, answered the question of why Israel does not recognize the genocide of the Greeks, Armenians and Assyrians.
” I think we did. I think the Knesset passed a resolution on that .”
When the Israeli Prime Minister was pressed to answer why no Israeli Prime Minister has recognized the genocides, he said:
” I just did it. Here it is .”
” Thank you for doing it. I’m sure many Assyrians and Greeks appreciate your words ,” said the presenter, who himself is of Armenian origin.
It is the first time that an Israeli prime minister has recognized the genocide of Greeks, Armenians and Assyrians by the Turks.
According to the Times of Israel, Israel has been reluctant to recognize the genocides because it did not want its relations with Turkey to be affected . Erdogan has often compared Israel to the Nazis. Netanyahu’s statement marks a change in Israel’s stance, at a time when relations between the two countries are in crisis.

Very true. Israel is isolating itself.
Netanyahu answering a random question in a random interview is not an official recognition. There must be an official vote and decision of the parliament of the country.
As I noted the Israeli Parliament Knesset has not recognised the Armenian, Assyrian and Greek Genocides – despite several efforts over the years. Until they do this will not be enough… But forcing the genicidal war criminal Netanyahu who is also a Zionist to recognize them even in such a statement is quite a step.
The only reason that Netanyahu mentioned these genocides is because he is feeling the heat. The fact that he did it in an off-hand manner is an insult.
He will have to pass it through Knesset but it will not be easy as he holds a slim majority and is dependent on the extreme Zionists and settlers…

He’s doing this as a power play for Syria and Cyprus
We have repeatedly reported that the Israelis are furiously buying land both in the north and the south of Cyprus and that they Cyprus was always part of the plan for a “Wider Israel”.
The unholy alliance between Turks and Jews goes back centuries…in all its many shape shifting forms. Even the loud outbursts by both sides that seem to reveal shattered relationsare carefully nuanced by backroom negotiations. Netanyahu’s flippant but helpful comment just barely cracks that wall of alliance but it will take a public and forceful proclamation by the Knesset to whack that wall so it may finally crumble.
