A Nation Shaken by the Murder of a Conservative Leader. Is this the second phase of a civil War?

The United States has been thrown into shock following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old co-founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, who was fatally shot during a campus event at Utah Valley University. The young father of two and close ally of President Donald Trump was struck in the neck by a single bullet while addressing students under a tent marked with his signature slogans, “The American Comeback” and “Prove Me Wrong.”
Chaos erupted as students and supporters scrambled for safety, while graphic video evidence of the shooting circulated online within minutes. Authorities confirmed late Wednesday that the gunman remains at large, with federal and state agencies engaged in a manhunt.
President Trump announced Kirk’s death on Truth Social, calling him “great, and even legendary.” In his first official act of mourning, Trump ordered that flags be lowered to half-staff at all public and military buildings across the nation, a gesture underscoring the gravity of the moment and Kirk’s significance to the conservative movement.
Former President Obama and a wide array of political figures across the partisan divide joined in condemning the killing as an assault on American democracy. Governors, senators, and even past victims of political violence—Nancy Pelosi, Gabrielle Giffords—spoke out against the act.
At Turning Point USA headquarters in Phoenix, supporters gathered in grief, laying flowers and praying. Many remembered Kirk not only as a fiery defender of free markets, religious liberty, and American exceptionalism, but as a man of faith and family, whose identity as a young father animated his vision of the conservative movement.
Internationally, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed prayers for Kirk’s family, and leaders in the United Kingdom echoed concern over the rising tide of political violence in the United States. Ukraine, notably, has remained silent, with no official comment from Kyiv or Ukrainian representatives reported in global media coverage as of this writing.
The killing of Charlie Kirk comes amid an alarming series of attacks on public officials across the ideological spectrum, underscoring the dangerous polarization tearing at America’s civic fabric. For conservatives, it marks the loss of one of their most prominent voices—a man who, from the age of 18, dared to challenge liberal orthodoxy on college campuses and went on to build one of the most influential youth movements of the Trump era.

In a very recent post, I invited you to remind yourself about the 1958 “Our Lady of Angels” incident in Chicago, where 95 lives were lost by a wacko criminal who didn’t fire a single shot. While you are at it, also read about the “copy cat” crime in Arkansas the next year 1959, that murdered another 21 kids without a single shot fired… and how about the Lincoln Elementary School incident in 1980, where the “sicko” disgruntled janitor fortunately did NOT succeed in killing with the same “non-gun method”, because they evacuated the building in time? Only 2 years after that Kansas incident, in America elementary schools, unknowing kids were singing a pretty “sick” parody of the Christmas song “Deck the halls with bows of holly”, as a “joke”, without realizing it was referring to sick events like that…
If you really want to solve a problem, focus on real root causes….focus on identifying “sickos”
1) Start by reversing Jimmy Carter’s law that released everyone from the Asylums (giving them “rights”), and prevents the State from committing “crazy” people BEFORE they commit the crime…that would have prevented the Parkland, FL incident, given that the police had visited that wacko’s home multiple times prior to the incident, and couldn’t “put him away” legally because of the Jimmy Carter law…
2) Fix the problem with the Clinton-era HIPAA privacy, so that the FBI background database includes those folks who are diagnosed with major psych conditions…
3) Fix the problem where all juvenile offenses are “erased” at the age of 18…certain violent juvenile offenders should remain “on record” and “in the FBI background check database for a LONG time after turning 18…
4) Have all school children take “psych evaluation tests”, and monitor the ones that score “high” on the “criminal mindset” scale and get them the help they need before they become part of the juvenile system or worse…and by the way, if they score that high, they can be put on a list after the age of 18, too, so they can’t “purchase” anything harmful…
Simple solutions…anyone could have implemented them, even Bush, Obama or Biden…But nobody on either side of the aisle cares to fix the problem, because it is a “convenient” topic that “motivates voters”, and they “play the issue” back and forth like tennis pros. Wake up and smell the coffee, because you are being played into typing untimely and shameful comments, at a time when we should all be asking “what happens to the Orthodox faithful tomorrow if we are having a public conversation that someone doesn’t like”? Do you remember the 2009 attack on the Orthodox priest in Florida?
It doesn’t take much to “cross over the Rubicon” in cases like this, to a point that you or I in the near future would need to look over our shoulders before entering an Orthodox Church…Don’t you see the writing on the wall? Your public response on yesterday’s murderous incident is quite shameful right now.

Humanity is quite primitive. We are all sinners descended from Adam and Eve. Our human blood is tainted from the first humans on earth. After the kill everybody say good words about the victim… What Trump did to protect him? Nothing obviously. The killer is visible on the roof in the videos! What kind of security is that?
By the way, Charlie Kirk had become very popular lately, when he started attacking Israel’s policies… And everybody knows well who is the deadliest killing machine on earth…
Why was it “Trump’s” job to protect Charlie Kirk??? This was Charlie’s personal ministry outreach. Not some governmental role in which he was speaking on behalf of in any official capacity. Not DJT’s responsibility. If anything, the Utah campus security should have had more security onsite or an interior venue should have been chosen for limited access and exposure to the public at large.
These comments are baseless and show complete stupidity, lack of understanding and ignorance! C. Kirk was not an elected official, nor did he have an appointed position within the Trump Administration. So why, WHY would he be permitted access to government/Secret Service protection??? Trump failed no one.
Articles state that Kirk had 6 security people working on site. How on earth, can 6 people protect 1 man when you have several thousand in attendance when there is someone with evil intent to do bodily harm? Not possible.
Charlie did what he did because he was called to step up and into a role, position and calling with a God given anointing and gift to reach out and speak out like the Apostles did telling truths to an otherwise young, indoctrinated, lost bunch of college kids in this generation. Charlie had full awareness of the evil spiritual forces against him. He was not afraid of death. He knew the Light intimately. He knew where he would spend eternity. And that is why the DEMONOCRATS, the trannies, and Christ fearing nations wanted him dead. No different than the Pharisees and the Sadducces.
I will state this again, if you don’t believe in Jesus Christ as Our Savior, Redeemer, Healer, Life Giver, Peacemaker, etc., then you are a non-believer and have no clue as to the dark spiritual realm which surrounds each and every one of us daily. Our curse dates back to the Original sin of Adam & Eve in the Garden of Eden.
Charlie chose the Light of Christ and was an evangelist for Christ. There was NOTHING EVIL in what Charlie Kirk stood for or espoused. Charlie’s life abruptly ended at the age of 31. Jesus Christ’s life ended at the age of 33 with only 3 years of ministry. While I’m not comparing JC to CK, there hasn’t been anyone this mature, willing to speak out with love at all costs on behalf of our Lord and Savior. WHERE IS THE CHURCH IN ALL OF THIS?
