For too long, the concerns of Greek-American Orthodox Christians have been ignored while transparency, accountability, and trust have steadily eroded. We gather peacefully on Thursday, June 11, to make our voices heard and to demand a Church leadership that serves the faithful rather than itself.
We Demand Justice and Due Process
We demand justice for Fr. Gilbert and for all clergy and laity who deserve fair treatment. No priest should be subjected to trial by media, public humiliation, or character assassination through leaks and press campaigns before a fair and transparent process has taken place.
We Demand an American Archdiocese That Serves American Orthodox Christians
The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese must answer to the faithful entrusted to its care. We reject outside political influences and any efforts by individuals whose loyalties lie with foreign government interests – NAMELY, TURKEY – rather than the spiritual welfare of Orthodox Christians in America. The Archdiocese must be governed for the benefit of the Church, not external political agendas.
Hands Off Parish Properties
Parish properties were built through the sacrifices, donations, and labor of generations of faithful Greek Orthodox Christians. These sacred and community assets must not become targets for speculative development schemes or backroom real-estate ambitions. The mission of the Church is not property development—it is the salvation of souls, the preservation of our faith, and service to our communities.
We demand the Lay People’s Participation in the Election of Bishops and Metropolitans
In the Christian/Orthodox tradition, the hierarchs were always elected by the clergy and laity. In modern times, only the Church of Cyprus keeps a very diluted form of this ancient custom. We need to return to the roots of our Faith!!
Accountability for the Hellenic Cultural Center in Astoria!
Firing the “Art Director,” Mr. Ammohostianos, is not the way to address the vulgarity that occurred at the Center at the end of March. The Executive Director of the Hellenic Cultural Center has a name: Fr. Gregory Stamkopoulos, who also takes advantage of and lives there for free!! He needs to be fired, also! But he is protected by his close friend Elpidophoros!! You cannot run a church based on your incompetent and corrupt friends!!
Invest in Our Schools and Youth
Instead of endless bureaucracy, “Real estate development” plans and questionable priorities, invest in our schools, our students, our teachers, our ministries, and our future. Strong schools create strong parishes and a strong Church. The future of Orthodoxy in America depends on educating and inspiring the next generation. The future of Hellenism in America also depends on strong communities.
No Conflicts of Interest
The faithful deserve transparent governance free from conflicts of interest, favoritism, and insider arrangements. Decisions affecting parishes, schools, institutions, and communities must be made solely in the best interests of the Church and its people. Elaine Allen is the most obvious example of a conflict of interest, and she needs to be removed from the Astoria parish immediately!! There are other examples of course…
The Four Ecumenical Foundations of Hellenism
We are the most fortunate ethnicity on the planet, a truly ECUMENICAL “ethnos” founded on four major pillars:
- Our 5,000-year-old Civilization, the “Ark” of human achievement through the centuries, with a language as a matrix of human communication.
- For five millennia, our shipping industry has been exploring the oceans peacefully.
- We read the New Testament in the original text in our language, and Orthodoxy is our Faith, attracting now millions of faithful in America and beyond.
- We are spread across the globe as a people, our Diaspora, enhancing peaceful coexistence through trade and NEVER through exploitation.
Of these four foundations of Hellenism, the Patriarchate and GOARCH created a schism in Orthodoxy globally to serve their political masters. And they made the Hellenic Diapora a servant to the plans of the Turkish Foreign Ministry!! They are talking about “Greek-Turkish Friendship” while half of Cyprus is occupied, a Turkish “casus belli” is in effect against Greece since 1996, and the whole Turkish leadership is demanding half the Aegean!! No More dependence on the Phanariots!!

I made a look and can’t find nothing much about the corrupt Woman Elaine Allen on line. Not too much results when you are googling her. Not even the lately Hellenic scope articles. Nothing bad is coming up. Looks like she’s paying the service to hide the dirty things and bad search results. We search and seen that she is the treasurer of many non profit organizations!!!!! Look it up and see. And she still also has a full time job for company on the LinkedIn called Mitchell AND Titus. She’s using a very old picture showing her more skinny and younger. She looks different now when you see her in the lately pictures you can’t tell. Big money she’s making form this company I bet she is one of the partners who owns it. And why she is also all day sitting in the Greek archdiocese in New York???? You telling me she is no making money? Πες τα αλλού! Nobody millionaire like this is all day working for free. What she’s doing days long in there and shes commando with psaros archons making money and playing games. The people need to know what’s going on. I call to talk three times last week and they tell me she’s no there. I asked what’s she’s hiring to do the economics work for the archdiocese. It is her friends. I am very concerned about this person. I am encouraging all people going to
Clergy Laity in Cleveland to ask lots of questions. It’s all very suspicious. This person who is the treasurer is involved with everything and also has gone over the term limit on the council. Why does she not want to allow another person in. This is the typical pattern when a parish council is up to no good. Why are we not following the rules here. Why is she getting involved in individual parishes in New York and even being put on their parish councils. What exactly is she involved in and what’s her real job. I have never heard of an archdiocesan council member working in the anrchdiocese every day. That is a major red flag. Is it true that she is financially controlling other non profits? Is that even allowed? Shouldn’t we know? This needs to be brought to everyone’s attention and I know many people are reading helleniscope and relying on it to tell the real information that the archdiocese hides. If she is controlling the archbishop and running the archdiocese then she is controlling the information. This is why it took Theodore Kalmoukos to disclose the situation with the cathedral priest because they don’t tell people what’s happening. And Nick why haven’t you done an article explaining who she is and why people need to know? Just like you explained the lawyer. Have you been threatened with being sued by her? It’s very suspicious all of it and I have talked to a lot of people and they’re all not happy about this including my priest who says shes got to go. Maybe she has on the archbishop and that is how she keeps him in line doing whatever she wants him to do

The archdiocese’s ugly face, its mean disposition, its archdiocese vs the sheep attitude, its better than though false pride, its selfish regard, its lying, its neglect of its duty, its non-transperancy, its continual galas, dinners and awards, its absence of humility, its lack of monastic spirit, is a constant reminder of the tragedy that has befallen our faith. It is a continual sandal that must be excised.
If reconcilement is to be hoped, Tsougarakis, totally ignorant of scripture and church tradition, is a heavy burden on the church’s image. He represents the tyranny and hypocrisy that Christ condemned in the scribes of His time. The anomaly of a lawyer attacking the parishioners that pay his salary, is an abomination. The fact that Elpidoforos hired him, without checking out his resume, for anti-Christian attitudes in his former job, just because he was dazzled with his “used-car-lot- dog” credentials, does not mean that parishioners should be mistreated by Elpidoforo’s wrong hire. He has to either be leashed and muzzled, or shown the door. Preferably the latter
Tsoungarakis is an evil existence in this church and society. Ask his peers at his previous law firm. Ask his “friends” at his local parish. Even the locals in SH have plenty to say. There’s a famous wise saying: tell me who your friends are, and lll tell you who you really are and what you’re all about”. Yes, seek and you shall find. Dear friends, I have been reading the posts on helleniscope for a while now, and i have refrained from participating in the dialogues . I now regret it, but, I feel that a lot of emphasis is being placed on many issues which have seriously hurt our beloved Church, and not enough on recommendations and a call to action. As lay persons, we must take the bull by horns and then the throat. As superior matadors we must go out on the arena and raise hell. Don’t expect anything from the metropolitans. They’re a useless “body of Christ” The Priests are only concerned about their salary. They’re have no interest in saving the church from the tyrant who the chief heresiarch has appointed to destroy our Church. Take charge and boycott everything related to the Church, the parish, the metropolis and of course, the Archdiocese. Become EXORCISTS and destroy the power of evil in the person of Elpidoforos. Spit upon him now.
I ask for your forgiveness for being so harsh, but please try to understand our frustration. We want our Church back. Let’s work hard at it. We can accomplish our goal if we the laypersons are united in the faith let’s go for it here and now. The longer we wait, then we risk our children not having a Church in which they will peace and refuge in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

These are the evil times the Bible talks to us about. The bible is the WORD.
I told the fake pastor we could meet with a priest in town. He mocked Orthodox Christianity. Stated the schism was created by Constantine to control the Roman Empire. What bullshit. I spoke out loud and clear. Then the owner created a lie online about me and blocked my ability to respond.

How about dedicating tomorrow’s protest to Bartholomeos the Turkish patriarch. From what I remember it’s his Nameday tomorrow. Do us all a favor please, DO NOT WISH HIM MANY YEARS. The more years he’s around the longer we will suffer with his offspring presence. And yes, I m referring to evil elpi. Demand that they both go to hell NOW. That’s where they belong.

I’m much more in favour of demanding that they both REPENT. How can we demand that anybody go to hell – demand that they be cut off from God’s grace for ever?
They’re not going… they’re already there. Their soul is so dark and blackened that no light can ever penetrate it. One who does not believe in God can never repent. Why? Because they’re greater than God. Our God. Repent for what? In their mind, Destroying the Church and the people which comprise it, is not a sin. It’s mandatory and necessary for the fulfillment of their woke and illicit existence. Again, ANATHEMA, ANATHEMA, ANATHEMA TO THEM.
