EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis): We received a truly exceptional response from a senior member of GOA clergy (below) to one more email blast from Karloutsos, regarding the new, online only, publication of the Orthodox Observer. I would only add that AB Elpidophoros missed one more opportunity… This time he could celebrate Memorial Day by issuing a statement/encyclical and visiting a cemetery to honor American Patriotism. At the same time he could mention the thousands of Greeks and Greek-Americans who fought and died side by side with the American forces in WWII and Korea and bring together the two countries, who have always been and will always be very close allies… Karloutsos could offer such advice to Elpidophoros, who unfortunately is not yet well-adjusted to America and he is lacking in leadership qualities. But the Machiavellian Karloutsos chose, once again, to undermine the new archbishop for his own self-serving reasons… Consumed by arrogance he cannot see that his own disgraceful end is just around the corner…

“Is the digital Orthodox Observer going to be OBJECTIVE, TRANSPARENT AND ACCOUNTABLE FOR ACCURATE INFORMATION?
Please don’t make it another photo journal of the archbishop’s travels and encounters with people.
We know what he looks like with or without reading glasses. We know that he smiles profusely. We know who he represents – Athens and Istanbul. We know that he needs to read his Mark Arey prepared English language homilies because of his limited knowledge of English. We know that he prefers to sign his name in the Greek language to prove that he is a foreign agent. But most of all we want to know that he is objective in his discernment’s and honest in his utterances.
While we all know that he is a foreigner, we need to know why he didn’t issue an encyclical message on the occasion of Memorial Day, 2020 when all real Americans recall and remember the men and women who defended our nation and gave their lives for our liberty?
