“If we think of the Archdiocese as a ship, we were off course, taking on water, and without a captain. Then came the decision of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to elect Archbishop Elpidophoros, whose name means ‘bringer of hope.'”
Yes dear readers, it is not a mistake!… This is exactly how John Catsimatidis decided to start his statement yesterday commemorating the one-year anniversary of AB Elpidophoros… With the metaphor of a sinking ship in need of a good captain…  Even if someone tried hard, they would not be able to come up with a more unfortunate metaphor.  Already many faithful have nicknamed GOA the “Sinking Titanic”…
It actually has all the traits of the Titanic.  It was sailing in oblivion, the ocean eerily calm, as the iceberg of financial troubles was lurking ahead… It was suddenly hit underwater once and then immediately again by the federal criminal investigation… The music kept playing for three full hours – the equivalent of three years in our case…. “By the time the captain toured the damaged area ….five compartments were already filling with seawater, and the bow of the doomed ship was alarmingly pitched downward, allowing seawater to pour from one bulkhead into the neighboring compartment….” goes the original story.  In our case, we have the additional mistake of replacing the captain in the middle of sinking…. The worst mistake of all, because the sinking is now all but guaranteed… It’s an impossible – and completely unfair – task for any new captain to learn his boat in the middle of a fatal accident…
And what did the new captain do? Let’s watch the theatrical play in all its many acts, with protagonist the new Archbishop…
First Act: Installed the failed “mechanic” (Karloutsos) as an official co-captain to make sure that the “Prince of Darkness” would never allow transparency and accountability to prevail…
Second Act: Gave his first speech in Astoria and “declared every dissident a heretic”, a totally unholy act.
Third Act: Installed his donor’s (Andriotis)  minions in key positions of GOA, so we do not doubt that this is a “pay-to-play” establishment and NOT the Church of Christ.
Fourth Act: Focused on the money problems without balancing his behavior with care for the faithful and their spiritual concerns.
Fifth Act: Turned the headquarters into a monastery/hotel with his “trusted” friends from Greece and Turkey, none of whom had any knowledge of the American Church…
Sixth Act: Hired expensive lawyers as the legal icebergs appeared very frightful in the horizon and the federal investigators kept expanding the scope of their search into more “corners” of financial mishandling.
Seventh Act: The cacophonous “Archons Orchestra” kept playing “Τη Υπερμάχω” as the faithful were jumping off the ship…
Eighth Act: Made haphazard arrangements to start rebuilding St.Nicholas Shrine, with the same failed actors and Archons… St.Nicholas himself “miraculously” escaped this desecration of his eternal memory of humility and selflessness…
Ninth Act: Ordered multiple spoons for the delivery of the Holy Communion turning half the Metropolitans of America and 90% of the clergy and faithful against him.
Tenth Act: Removed himself further away from the people when he participated in a “socially congestive” Black Lives Matter event, while the Churches were closed as “non essential”….
Final Act: The flatterers kept praising him as the Federal investigators kept unfolding all kinds of evidence from “financial wrongdoings” to breaking the “conflict of interest” rules in the headquarters and everywhere else in GOA… The Titanic sank when the investigators announced a comprehensive third round of indictments, as the Archons Orchestra kept playing, the brown-nosers kept flattering and the faithful kept jumping…

  1. Sure, Larissa, certainly you don’t think that BLM is really about BLM, do you? First, it’s an extortion money shakedown by Race Hustlers and second it is a “cover” for the Marxist Boshevik. Maoist, Anarchist crowd to tear down the democratic institutions as we know then–education, church , mIlitary, law enforcement, family structure, male-female/ parent-child relationships, symbols like the flag, patriotism and all the pillars and re-make them into a central command, authoritarian state with no private rights. If BLM mattered why the Black Silence Matters over 18 dead in 24 hours in Chicago and 9 in NYC over night?
