EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis): There is no better medicine in the midst of this wintry misery we all have to suffer than music – and yours truly is a major proponent of “Music therapy”… So we picked a few happy songs to bring some rays of summer in our life…  We had 8 inches of snow today in New York – and the pandemic multiplies the misery by a factor of ten….

The “Yellow Submarine” by the Beatles, “Le Moustique” (The Mosquito”) by Joe Dassin and the “Mediteranee” by a great Hellene, the eternal “Meteque” (immigrant/ μέτοικος), Georges Moustaki… If these three songs do not spell summer for you then,  sorry… You need to see a …therapist…

2) JOE DASSIN – LE MOUSTIQUE / THE MOSQUITO

BELOW IS THE ENGLISH TRANSLATION

The Mosquito

Don’t bother me, mosquito
Don’t bother me, mosquito
Don’t bother me, mosquito
Go back home
I’m taking a nap, mosquito
Stop your music for a little bit
Don’t be disagreeable
Don’t bite me
Mosquito, my man, you seem very little
You have wings, go see the country
I have a boss larger than me
Go there with trust, it’s me that sends you
Don’t bother me, mosquito
Don’t bother me, mosquito
Don’t bother me, mosquito
Go back home
You see me melancholic
For disturbing your picnic
If you taste me, mosquito
You will not like it
There are countries full of delight
For a quality mosquito
In Saint-Tropez, in Honolulu
All the world is big, all the world is bare
Don’t bother me, mosquito
Don’t bother me, mosquito
Don’t bother me, mosquito
Go back home
I’m taking a nap, mosquito
Stop your music for a little bit
Don’t be disagreeable
Don’t bite me
