The most wonderful moments in life come when you see proof in front of your eyes that you passed on to your children and grandchildren a good part of your culture, your traditions, and your family heritage…
Today was such a moment for me. I woke up staring at a photo of my first-born son Andreas having a live octopus all over his hand and arm!… Andreas, 25, is in Greece for vacation, and a good (almost professional) swimmer that he is, he had no problem pulling an octopus from under a rock with his bare hands… He was a little kid, about 6 or 7, when I helped him do the same with a very little baby octopus, maybe 20% the size of this one…
Yes, my friends, this is proof that our lineage from Crete and a couple of Aegean islands will continue to keep the family heritage for a long time… I have many reasons to be proud of Andreas, but this one is near the top… We are “seamen” in the family… Θαλασσινοί…
OPA!
Great color photo & octopus I wouldn’t eat.
Barbecued octopodi with olive oil/oregano/lemoni…….delicious!
