By Nick Stamatakis

When Ambassador Tsunis was picked for Greece, we wrote that it was mathematically certain that he would create all kinds of silly or even serious problems -because he was not …” tuned”, or “equipped,” or otherwise ready to assume his role… He was promoted on the basis of his Greek descent (and his donation of a couple of million $$ to Biden) but he lacked the education or preparation needed for his position…

Well, yesterday, he proved us and everyone else correct by appearing at Alexandroupolis – arguably the most important presently American base/installation in Greece, as if he were going to the beach.   He was there to greet his “friend” Senator Menendez, who visited for a day or so.

Ambassador … Tsu-tsunis (if you do not know what this nickname means, please ask any of the native Greek speakers in your circle) appeared in sandals wearing a rainbow sign next to “Pride Beach” on a T-Shirt as if he was going to a beach nearby – a …pride beach nonetheless…

Naturally, he attracted the anger of the local Metropolitan, Anthimos, who posted a harsh comment on Facebook… On the surface, Met. Anthimos was irritated by the informal appearance. But it seems that the rainbow and the “pride” sign were likely the real issues…

Well, after less than four months on the job, it is still early for …Tsu-tsunis to offer the full scale of his …skills and abilities… Stay tuned for more laughs shortly…

Metropolitan Anthimos Angered By Ambassador Tsunis T-Shirt

For the first time, the American ambassador to Greece, George Tsounis, visited Alexandroupoli, meeting the American senator and President of the Foreign Relations Committee of the United States Senate, Robert Menendez.

Joining them in this unofficial visit was the military attaché of the US Embassy in Greece and the President of the Port Authority of the region, Kostas Hatzimichael.

The Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee was informed about the implementation of the Hellenic-American Defense Agreement regarding the importance and of using the port of Alexandroupoli.

What brought reactions was the appearance of the US ambassador, who wore Bermuda shorts, sandals and a purple T-shirt that read “Pride Beach.” For his part, the American senator also had a summer outfit, but this consisted of trousers and a polo-type shirt.

In fact, the appearance of George Tsunis brought the wrath of the Metropolitan of Alexandroupolis, Anthimos who said in his statement: “The American Ambassador in Greece cannot appear informally and even in carefree summer clothing in Alexandroupolis”.

Below this post there are comments that defend Tsunis, saying that “the essence of the visit is important and not the attire”. Others argued that it would be better if he had a more proper appearance.

  3. Tsunis was not only inappropriately dressed but clearly out of style, dressed in yesterday’s “cargo” type shorts looking like the kid on the block most others laughed at. What a pathetic image of a person whose predecessors were seasoned and distinguished members of our nation’s diplomatic corp.

  4. 😂😂😂😂

You did it again, Dr S., I’m laughing out loud!

What an embarrassment….to know that he didn’t grow up too far from the Miracle Mile on Long Island’s North Shore, where he could have bought and packed a really nice outfit for such occasions for his new post, or at the very least pick up a Summer suit in Athens.
Seems like the gastronomy in Greece is agreeing with him. Let me know if he needs a personal trainer, I could help him….😂 His family must be very pride beach of him!

    • Please skip the “Dr.” title… My Ph.D is real – unlike some others around the community – but I truly hate using titles…

      • You earned your title Dr S., the good ol’ fashioned way, unlike Mr Tsunis. Maybe you should go to the next event ahead of time, and help the guy out? He’s over his head and out of his league.
I could just hear the Greeks, “Ρε το Αμερικανακι! 😂

        Shameful…..

It reminds me of a Jerry Lewis telethon. The world is soon coming to an end.

  6. What do you expect from an idiot whose father LITERALLY BOUGHT him the ambassadorship. Who was nominated by an imbecile of a President, recommended by evil, corrupt FAK, and best friend of Eraklis Diamataris, editor of the famous Astoria rag! Cry the Beloved Country!

    • His father has been dead over a decade. Because he was Damato deputy banking committee counsel, George was deputy camapign manager for Pataki in 1994 but Rob Ryan dumped him, so George followed his uncle Rev Dr John A Poulos into the Democrats, finally took the bar, and became counsel to Peter Vallone. When George was rejected for Norway, Damato defended his old acolyte Tsunis on the radio, arguing George was briefed months before the delayed confirmation, hence the information was outdated. And George grew up on the south shore, Babylon, to be exact. Please lookup: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republican_and_conservative_support_for_Barack_Obama_in_2008

  7. My anger level is sky high— pushing that pride skata are we? We make a statement by our dress and demeanor… Appealing to the fringe base again? Need them for what? Wore it to prove what?

  8. Tsunis is dressed like garbage to deliberately
disrespect Greek Orthodoxy & to propagandize he’s on board with gay agenda
    Truly sickening pig!

  9. Tsunis is a sub-par, sub-intellect, know-nothing stooge player in a world of perverted Biden appointed officials. Consider that on Bastille Day, the French national holiday, two weirdos with whom he was competing for “queerness affirmation” in this administration, represented the US Government at the French Embassy in Washington DC—Admiral “Rachel” Levine (a man in a skirt) and Sam Brinton , in charge of nuclear safety for the country, who is a bald man in a dress and heels.

Next time, His Excellency Georgie needs to put on his Sunday best Drag on if he wants to impress his Rainbow boss. A size 22 dress ought to fit!

  10. I am not going to comment on Tsu-Tsunis’ attire but wearing the LGBT insignia proves that he is not
an honest Ambassador. An Honest Ambassador represents EVERYONE and doesn’t push parochial, and divisive agendas which are insulting to the majority of the people the Ambassador represents… This proves the deeply unDemocratic attitude of government bureaucrats who behave as if the Government office belongs to them and not to the people they are tasked to represent…

    • Well said – this juvenile lefty is advertising his gay agenda with that T-shirt!
Wonder if Rasputin Karloutsos “advised” him?
