EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis): It looks like the worst has been avoided around Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in Eastern Ukraine, the biggest NPP in Europe and among the ten most prominent in the world.  As the Ukrainian supposed “counter-offensive” in the South was developing (and eventually failed miserably), a special forces team of Ukrainian saboteurs of the Ukrainian Army approached the power plant at a small distance aiming to capture it.  They were all trapped by the Russians and eliminated.  Then Ukraine tried to block the approach of the UN inspectors at the power plant – as they have been doing for days… They failed again.  Finally, the inspectors arrived, and two stayed at the power plant permanently.

Sept 2 (Reuters) – Two inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will stay at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant on a permanent basis, Russia’s ambassador to international institutions in Vienna told the RIA Novosti news agency on Friday.

An IAEA mission is currently at the plant, Europe’s largest nuclear facility which has been under the control of Russian forces since March.
