EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis): We have repeatedly noted our opposition to the catastrophic idea of transferring the S-300 missiles (now stationed in Crete and providing an almost impenetrable air defense) to Ukraine.  Russia has already provided Turkey with S-400 missiles – but has already taken care that these should not be used against Greece.  If the puppet Mitsotakis (whose family has been sold to the US “deep state” since the early 1960s) proceeds to such a stupid move then the Russians have several options, including allowing the Turks to use S-400 missiles against Greece (something that would render the supposedly advanced F-16 Vibers and Rafale fighters useless). Please note that if the US Air Force had an answer against the superb S-400 missiles, they would use them in Syria.  Instead, President Trump ordered a missile barrage for “show” only, lest the S-400 and other Russian weapons ridicule the American military…  Most of the American missiles were destroyed in the air… Alexis Tsipras is not better and follows a similar line to Mitsotakis…

Finally, the corrupt imbeciles constituting the ruling political elites in Greece, should ask themselves why Israel does NOT deliver the “Iron Dome” to Ukraine.  The short answer is that they fear the Russian retaliation through Syria that would devastate their air defenses….  And the Greek “leadership” should also consider that Russian military bases in Syria are minutes away from Cyprus…

FOR THE REST, ENJOY A SUPERB ANALYSIS BY THE TWO GREEKS, ALEX CHRISTOPHOROU AND ALEXANDER MERCOURIS…

  1. Nick, superb analysis! There are also other reasons why Israel is dragging its feet when it comes to helping the Ukraine, especially with its Iron Dome anti-missile system, the main one being that they’re scared that the Ukrainians may sell one to the Russians (who will then give them to the Iranians who will then reverse-engineer them).

Another reason is that the Russians would not restrain the Iranians (or the Syrians and Hezbollah) from making the Israelis lives miserable.

Smart cookies, those Jews. Too bad we Greeks aren’t as smart.

    • Thanks George!
Russia has forced Turkey into her sphere of influence by threatening her from North (Black Sea) and South (Syria) and also from the East (Iran). They also control their energy resources 100% through oil and gas and through the new nuclear power plant they are building in the Mediterranean Coast of Turkey. Those in the West who think that Turkey will return to their alliance are hallucinating…
However, this is the bait for our side and especially the Greek-Cypriots, who expect that this is the way to kick the Turks out of Northern Cyprus – possibly by the membership of Cyprus to NATO. It’s a very tempting idea but I believe it is mostly wishful thinking if Russia takes the Turkish side. Even if it happens, the Greek side will pay the price elsewhere…
Greece should never change the 80-20 or 90-10 policy (between the West and Russia) that started in Yalta in 1945 and was followed faithfully since – until Kyriakos Mitsotakis became prime minister…

    • It refers to the, almost mythical, historical event at the famous Yalta Conference (1945) between Churchill, Roosevelt, and Stalin. It was reported that Stalin passed a handwritten note (on a napkin!!) to Churchill where it was written: Yugoslavia 50-50% Greece 90-10%, meaning Greece was under the influence of the West at 90% while Russia had a 10%. Others report it as 80-20%, As we all know, Yugoslavia was neutral throughout the Cold War. Greece had followed since then a policy that allowed Russia some access. This is why Greece was able to buy Russian oil (since the 1980s) and Russian weapons (a bit later), the latter very effective even today for the country’s air defense system. Even as we speak Russia is allowed to have three anchorage points in the Eastern Aegean to facilitate the Russian ships as they sail from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean. One of them is west of Lesvos, one south of Samos, and the third near Rhodes.

  2. “Interestingly, this development comes when the Biden administration is finalizing plans to send a Patriot system to Ukraine after months of Ukrainian demands and consternation in Washington.

Interestingly, the Greeks want to deploy the Patriot missiles on the island of Crete. This is the same island on which a Greek S-300 allegedly “locked” Turkish F-16 fighters on August 23 this year.”
