EDITOR’S NOTE: Yes, the news below is clear… The Patriarch visited yesterday Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, the county executive – or otherwise “Pasha” – of Istanbul, and gave him a bag of cash supposedly for the victims of the earthquake… Yes, this is the surface… But for all of us who know how things work in today’s Ottoman Turkey, the truth is a little different… For example, we know that this same “Pasha” of Istanbul gets an annual “bakhshish” (the term for bribery in Ottoman times – still very much alive today). So when the alleged $10 million in cash from the Greek Foreign Ministry arrive annually with the diplomatic mail in Istanbul, this same Pasha photographed here, gets a visit and a very generous present of at least 10 percent… This ten percent had been the usual during Ottoman times, centuries ago…
Please don’t tell me that this “Pasha” will respect the Earthquake victims and will not get his “cut” out of the “Earthquake money”… He definitely will get his “cut” and he has no respect for the victims… Why? Because he knows that the Patriarch himself has no respect for the money he collects for any victims… It is common knowledge in the close circuit of GOARCH that any money for ANY “philanthropic” purpose collected in America is funneled to the IOCC (International Orthodox Christian Charities) and of the total 90 percent goes to the Patriarchate and only a meager ten percent goes to any victims – if it ever reached there…
LESSON TO ALL OF YOU: No money for any purpose to GOARCH or the Patriarchate… Donate to the International Red Cross if you want… and please do not forget: it was mostly Ottoman corruption that caused the tens of thousands of victims – because of the faulty construction by “businessmen” connected to Sultan Erdogan…

Ο Οικουμενικός Πατριάρχης κ. κ. Βαρθολομαίος παρέδωσε οικονομική βοήθεια προς τον Νομάρχη Κωνσταντινουπόλεως για τους σεισμοπαθείς.
Αναλυτικότερα, ο Οικουμενικός Πατριάρχης κ.κ. Βαρθολομαίος, συνοδευόμενος από τον Μ. Πρωτοσύγκελλο κ. Θεόδωρο, επισκέφθηκε σήμερα, 14 Φεβρουαρίου 2023, τον Νομάρχη της Πόλεως κ.Ali Yerlikaya και του εξέφρασε εκ μέρους του Οικουμενικού Πατριαρχείου και της Ρωμαίικης Κοινότητας τα θερμά συλλυπητήρια για τις χιλιάδες των θυμάτων του φονικού σεισμού που έπληξε τη νοτιοανατολική Τουρκία, ευχόμενος ο πανοικτίρμων Θεός να αναπαύσει τις ψυχές τους και να δίδει δύναμη στους οικογενείς τους.
Ο Παναγιώτατος εξέφρασε τα συγχαρητήριά του για το έργο των σωστικών συνεργείων και των εθελοντικών ομάδων, από την Τουρκία και από όλο τον κόσμο, που έσπευσαν από την πρώτη στιγμή στην περιοχή και εργάζονται υπό δυσχερείς συνθήκες για τον απεγκλωβισμό από τα συντρίμμια επιζώντων. Ευχήθηκε δε η αποκατάσταση των ζημιών στις υποδομές όσο και στις κατοικίες να γίνει το γρηγορότερο δυνατόν.
Σε ένδειξη έμπρακτης συμπαραστάσεως παρέδωσε προς τον κ. Yerlikaya χρηματικό ποσό για να διατεθεί από το Κράτος στην αντιμετώπιση των άμεσων αναγκών των πληγέντων από τον σεισμό. Ο Παναγιώτατος ενημέρωσε τον κ. Νομάρχη ότι το Οικουμενικό Πατριαρχείο και οι Ρωμαίικες Κοινότητες της Πόλεως και της Ίμβρου συγκέντρωσαν και απέστειλαν ήδη ανθρωπιστική βοήθεια στις σεισμόπληκτες περιοχές, ενώ υπάρχει διαρκής επικοινωνία με τοπικούς παράγοντες για την στήριξη των συνανθρώπων μας που υποφέρουν.
Ο Νομάρχης ευχαρίστησε τον Πατριάρχη και την Ρωμαίικη Κοινότητα για το άμεσο ενδιαφέρον και την συμπαράσταση σε αυτή τη δύσκολη στιγμή που βιώνει όλη η χώρα, καθώς και για την οικονομική ενίσχυση της συλλογικής προσπάθειας ανακούφισης των πληγέντων.
Μετά την συνάντηση ο κ. Νομάρχης έδειξε στον Παναγιώτατο το συντονιστικό κέντρο άμεσης βοήθειας.

Don’t donate to the Red Cross either, they spend 90% on advertising and upkeep. The Antiochian Patriarcate is on the ground in Syria and has a donation set up on their page, go donate there!

I do not know how you can go about claiming lies to be truth. I know for sure that every penny collected for the Covid Relief Fund by the GOA supported those in need during that difficult time. Hundreds of thousands of dollars were distributed, and each application submitted was carefully and scrupulously reviewed. The process could not have had more integrity than it did. When will you stop spreading lies?
I have my sources, and my sources claim otherwise. And I think some reports about IOCC have already been published. When was the last time they applied transparency and they published their accounting for their charitable giving? I went to their website and could not find anything. Maybe you can help me… They can send us their verified accounting, and we will publish it.
Unfortunately, they are controlled by the Istanbul Patriarchate, where much “business” as we all know, happens in cash. We have heard it from the lips of at least two former Foreign Ministers of Greece. We know roughly how much they get annually via the diplomatic mail from Greece…
If the Patriarchate were not about “shady business” and self-enrichment they would have established – (legally and quite easily) a non-profit religious organization in Switzerland and offer some degree of transparency to all. Instead, from what we know they have established personal bank accounts there… In their names (Bartholomew and Emmanuel)

This is getting ridiculous. IOCC is a pan-Orthodox organization that functions independently of all jurisdictions. Your claim that 90% of collected funds go to EP is a blatant lie. You are misleading people and slandering the most successful pan-Orthodox endeavor. Please repent of your sin.
Where is transparency and accountability? All charity action in America for any international issue has to go through IOCC.. They are not transparent. Nothing guided by Istanbul is. We had MANY debacles with GOARCH supposedly charitable collections.IOCC is controlled by GOARCH which means by the Patriarchate – why should they be trusted? Open the books and be accountable…

Now if you believe that a corrupt Payriarch who got paid $25 million out of the Saint Nicholas Ground Zero fund to give autocephaly to Ukraine will treat charity in an open and accountable way I have a bridge – actually several bridges in NY to sell you… As you know there is nothing harder in life than to regain the trust that was betrayed. Nick, I called a friend who is on the IOCC board and another who works for IOCC. Both acknowledged that The EP has nothing to do with IOCC. The board member stated that he EP is not even mentioned in board meetings and that he would not even support or participate as a board member if the EP were involved. Please do some work, read the posted audited report and write a retraction to the lies you promote.

Nick, IOCC is under the assembly of bishops with a Romanian bishop as the representative from the assembly. Additionally, I was told that Elpi is constantly complaining that not enough money is going to Greece. The EP is not in charge. I doubt that your sources are more accurate.
