Let me remind you that when I exposed the scandal in the Metropolis of Paris, I underlined that the Bulgarian gay escorts returned to the Metropolis building and stole very expensive watches and other jewelry (valued at hundreds of thousands of euros) belonging to Maximos, Emmanuel’s assistant. This is a common thread: The Patriarchate’s priests and hierarchs live a life of luxury and sin. How do they achieve that? With financial support from all of you… After the Paris scandal, instead of punishing Emmanuel and Maximos, Pat. Bartholomew promoted them, and now Emmanuel is “second in command” at the Patriarchate, while Maximos is now a Bishop in the United Kingdom. I can almost guarantee you that Agathangelos Siskos has a great future in the “Band of Thieves” of the Patriarchate… Hopefully, we will not have to deal with him here in America…

Greek Priest Serving at Ecumenical Patriarchate Arrested for Stealing
A Greek Orthodox priest serving at the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Istanbul (Constantinople) was recently arrested by the Turkish police for stealing a valuable pocket watch from an antique shop.
Agathangelos Sisko was arrested on Monday but was released soon after following the intervention of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
The moment when Sisko is apparently stealing the watch was caught by a security camera. Turkish TV stations have been extensively reporting on the case.
Ecumenical Patriarchate places priest on indefinite leave
According to a report by National Herald which first broke the news, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew placed the priest on indefinite leave.
Sources told the Greek American newspaper that Bartholomew is terribly troubled and saddened by the incident.
The owner of the antique store in Istanbul told the media that “it is a shame because the perpetrator is a member of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and he should have thought about the institution he represents and been more careful.”
Siskos has acknowledged he is the person appearing in the video but refused to make any further comment.
The priest is reportedly the Arch-Guardian of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. He arrived at the Ecumenical Patriarchate from the city of Kastoria in Greece as a layman and later was ordained.

Αποφυλακίστηκε κατόπιν παρεμβάσεως του Οικουμενικού Πατριάρχη
Συνελήφθη την Δευτέρα στην Τουρκία ο Μέγας Αρχιμανδρίτης του Οικουμενικού Πατριαρχείου, Αγαθάγγελος Σίσκος, για κλοπή ρολογιού τσέπης μεγάλης αξίας, το οποίο είχε κατασκευασθεί για συλλεκτική συλλογή το 1800 για λογαριασμό των Ανακτόρων.
Σύμφωνα με τον «Εθνικό Κήρυκα» ο Μέγας Αρχιμανδρίτης οδηγήθηκε στη φυλακή από όπου αποφυλακίστηκε με παρέμβαση της αστυνομικής φρουράς του Πατριάρχη Βαρθολομαίου.
Κατά την ίδια πηγή ο Οικουμενικός Πατριάρχης Βαρθολομαίος τον έβαλε σε αργία επ’ αόριστο ενώ εμφανίζεται φοβερά προβληματισμένος και λυπημένος για το συμβάν διότι διασύρεται το Πατριαρχείο.
Η ιδιοκτήτρια του καταστήματος σε δηλώσεις της στα Μέσα Ενημέρωσης της Τουρκίας είπε, μεταξύ άλλων, ότι «είναι κρίμα διότι ο δράστης είναι μέλος της Πατριαρχικής Αυλής κι έπρεπε να σκέπτεται τον θεσμό που εκπροσωπεί και να είναι πιο προσεκτικός».

Σημειώνεται ότι ο Μέγας Αρχιμανδρίτης Αγαθάγγελος Σίσκος, ο οποίος κατάγεται από την Καστοριά, πήγε στο Πατριαρχείο ως λαϊκός και εκεί χειροτονήθηκε διάκονος και πρεσβύτερος, είναι και Αρχαιοφύλακας του Οικουμενικού Πατριαρχείου.
Εθνικός Κήρυκας: Έχετε κάποιο σχόλιο για το θέμα της κλοπής του ρολογιού στο οποίο εμπλέκεσθε;
Πατέρας Αγαθάγγελος: Ευχαριστώ πρώτα απ’ όλα για το ενδιαφέρον που δείχνετε, δημοσιογραφικό προφανώς. Έχει ανατεθεί το θέμα σε νομικό. Όσο γίνεται έρευνα δεν μου επιτρέπεται να πω κάτι και επίσης δεν έχω και την άδεια του διευθυντού του Γραφείου Τύπου του Οικουμενικού Πατριαρχείου διότι είναι θεσμικό το ζήτημα, διότι στο εν λόγω βίντεο αναφέρεται στην ιδιότητα κάποιου κληρικού του Πατριαρχείου η εν λόγω κυρία, οπότε είναι θεσμικό το ζήτημα και δεν μου επιτρέπεται να πω κάτι».

He was likely suspended only because he was “stupid enough” to be caught, not because there is an actual Canon on the books that would result in automatic defrocking if he is eventually [rightfully] convicted of a crime by a secular court…
Either way, this “candid camera” incident is a clear sign that a non-profit org whose primary mission is to hire Private Investigators in order to “expose and clean up” clerical corruption would likely receive a ton of donations, and likely have a lot of success…long overdue at this point.
They won’t “police themselves”, unfortunately…it only happens when something goes public, and even then, the “Bulgarians in Paris” episode shows that it’s not a “de facto” conclusion that they will be removed…
Why does this not surprise me?
It’s unbelievable that EVERY priest or bishop appointed from flake Patriarch Bartholomew is a huge embarrassment.
