Duo Violins Are the Next Big Thing and They Are Greek!!!
Duo Violins Came to start a new musical journey

Recently I had the pleasure of meeting two young people, excellent musicians with incredible talent and an upward trajectory.. (you will remember me I think they are The Next Big Thing).
Dimitris Isaris and Giorgos Gaitanos, the so-called Duo Violins.
Dimitris reminds me a lot of Penn Dayton Badgley. The older ones might remember him from Gossip Girl and the younger ones from You, as he also brings me a bit of James Franco while George reminds me of Mark Wahlberg in his youth.
They both have quite advanced humor and are very witty and above all apart from having manners they are very low key and are very good guys. (and I’m not saying this because they told me a song inspired by me, but I mean it).
Our first meeting lasted 5+ hours and it was love at first sight.
Music is the best thing that has happened in the world and it comes out in various listenings for all tastes and surely their own listening is here to stay and make a difference in their field and give beautiful quality melodies.
And this is how the story of Dimitris Isaris and George Gaitanos begins..
They met on New Year’s 2015 at a NYE party in the States. Dimitris was then a member of OtherView who, after their scheduled appearance at VOX, went to sing at this party.
In fact, George had decided not to go and changed his mind at the last minute.
Their shared passion (and their studies in New York and England respectively) in music for film and love of orchestral music brought them together and created a strong friendship full of adventure, humor (a lot of humor) and a lot of music.
Giorgos has been a regular partner in major orchestras such as the National Opera, the Earth Orchestra, etc. and participated in important concerts as a freelance musician in Greece and abroad (Scorpions MTV Unplugged, Vanessa Mae, Marios Frangoulis, etc.)
In the same year, Dimitris decided, in the context of a psychology and self-improvement seminar, to “fulfill” something he always wanted to do but never did…to learn the violin. It sounds easier than it actually is of course. It is therefore a natural consequence that he should take his first lessons from his friend.
The most unexpectedly important development was when their other mutual friend, Consoul Trainin, (DJ – Producer living permanently in Dubai) a year later, asked Dimitris to write a violin part on a deep house track. The result was Take Me To Infinity, no 86 World Shazam Chart for 2016.
This song brought many requests for live performances and various projects. In one of them, Dimitris, asking for George’s contribution, thought to play the violin together, and somewhere there they found themselves in front of a “eureka moment” and that’s how the idea of DuoViolins was born.
In the autumn of 2017, to seal the establishment of the new format, they record in collaboration with Consoul Trainin again and Steven Aderinto Obsession, a song that remained for 23 weeks in the top 15 of Europa Plus (the largest listening station in Russia – Ukraine). At the same time, they perform their first live in a shop in Glyfada and their first TV appearance on Ant1’s evening show.
We enter 2018 and they start the first performances with original compositions of their own, ideal for sunset moments and their own arrangements from Hadjidaki to Red Hot Chilli Peppers!
Every event for them is different. They support this with their image stylistically, but also musically, always forming the most ideal repertoire for the occasion, whether it is a club show, sunset ritual, wedding party, etc.
From the spring of 2018 onwards until March 2020, a series of appearances begins at corporate events, clubs, hotels in very special venues.
Of particular interest is their participation in the episode of the French show “50 minutes inside” by Nikos Aliagas for TF1, dedicated to Mykonos and the activities of Duo Violins on the island.
The quarantine abruptly interrupts a world tour streak that had reached 12 countries in sixteen (16) months (Bali, Toronto, Dubai, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Paris, Frankfurt, etc.) but gives them time and inspiration to create many new compositions but and record collaborations.
A characteristic moment in the middle of the quarantine was their initiative to hold their first online concert dedicated to the celebration of lovers, that is, St. Valentine’s Day. The specific concept was of particular interest as they presented a program – contrary to what we were used to. Orchestral repertoire from Amelie by Yann Tiersen to Tango by Astor Piazzolla. A surprise on this particular evening was the guest participation of Andromachis Dimitropoulos, Anna Tarba and Nearchos.
So they started in the summer of ’21 at the time of this writing with the following (there are so many more in progress):
– the release of a special track entitled BarbaRossa, with a pirate concept (Mediterranean instead of the Caribbean) which developed into an absolute ethnic dance anthem in shops of Paros, Bodrum and Cairo.
– their participation in a special project directed by PickCodes for the global campaign of the new Xiaomi mobile phone in the first visualization of a song (Video Clip) with a mobile phone.
– their appearance at the Mad Awards in collaboration with Demy and Sergio T.
– an art video in Sarakiniko of Milos for their track entitled Meltem – which needs a whole dedication to tell you about the adventures they lived.
And of course, they start their Summer Tour energetically in beautiful destinations and especially venues, in Santorini, Mykonos, Rhodes, Crete, Lefkada, etc. Those friends who want to be informed about their summer appearances can follow them at www.instagram/duoviolins

Οι Duo Violins είναι the next big thing και είναι Έλληνες !!!
Οι Duo Violins ήρθαν για να χαράξουν μια νέα μουσική πορεία

Πρόσφατα είχα την χαρά να γνωρίσω δύο νέους ανθρώπους, εξαιρετικούς μουσικούς με απίστευτο ταλέντο και ανοδική πορεία.. ( θα με θυμηθείτε πιστεύω πως είναι The Next Big Thing ).
Ο Δημήτρης Ίσαρης και ο Γιώργος Γαϊτάνος, οι λεγόμενοι Duo Violins.
Ο Δημήτρης μου θυμίζει πολύ τον Penn Dayton Badgley. Οι παλιότεροι μπορεί να τον θυμόσαστε από το Gossip Girl και οι νεότεροι από το You, καθώς επίσης μου φέρνει λίγο και σε James Franco ενώ ο Γιώργος μου θυμίζει τον Mark Wahlberg στα νιάτα του.
Έχουν και οι δύο αρκετά προχωρημένο χιούμορ και είναι πολύ witty / πνευματώδης και πάνω από όλα εκτός του ότι έχουν τρόπους είναι πολύ χαμηλών τόνων και είναι πολύ καλά παιδιά. ( και αυτά δεν τα λέω γιατί μου τάξανε τραγούδι εμπνευσμένο από εμένα αλλά τα εννοώ ).
Η πρώτη μας συνάντηση κράτησε 5+ ώρες και ήταν love at first sight.
Η μουσική είναι ότι καλύτερο έχει συμβεί στον κόσμο και βγαίνει σε διάφορα ακούσματα για όλα τα γούστα και σίγουρα το δικό τους άκουσμα ήρθε για να μείνει και να κάνει διαφορά στον τομέα τους και να χαρίσει όμορφες ποιοτικές μελωδίες.
Και κάπως έτσι ξεκινάει η ιστορία του Δημήτρη Ίσαρη και του Γιώργου Γαϊτάνου ..
Γνωρίστηκαν την πρωτοχρονιά του 2015 σε ένα NYE party στη Πολιτεία. Ο Δήμητρης ήταν τότε μέλος των OtherView οι οποίοι μετά την προγραμματισμένη τους εμφάνιση στο VOX, πήγαν για να τραγουδήσουν σε αυτό πάρτυ.
Μάλιστα ο Γιώργος είχε αποφασίσει να μην πάει και τελευταία στιγμή άλλαξε γνώμη.
Το κοινό τους πάθος (και οι σπουδές τους σε Νέα Υόρκη και Αγγλία αντίστοιχα) στη μουσική για κινηματογράφο και η αγάπη για την ορχηστρική μουσική τους έφερε κοντά και δημιούργησε μια δυνατή φιλία γεμάτη περιπέτειες, χιούμορ (πολύ χιούμορ) και πολύ μουσική.
Ο Γιωργος υπήρξε τακτικός συνεργάτης σε μεγάλες ορχήστρες όπως Εθνική Λυρική Σκηνή, Ορχήστρα της Ερτ κλπ και συμμετείχε σε σημαντικές συναυλίες ως freelance musician σε Ελλάδα και εξωτερικό (Scorpions ΜTV Unplugged, Vanessa Mae, Μάριος Φραγκούλης κλπ)
Την ίδια χρονιά ο Δημήτρης αποφάσισε στα πλαίσια ενός σεμιναρίου ψυχολογίας και αυτοβελτίωσης να “εκπληρώσει” κάτι που πάντα ήθελε να κάνει αλλά ποτέ δεν έκανε…να μάθει δηλαδή βιολί. Ακούγεται πιο εύκολο από ότι είναι φυσικά στην πραγματικότητα. Φυσική συνέπεια λοιπόν τα πρώτα μαθήματα να τα πάρει από τον φίλο του.
Η πιο αναπάντεχα σημαντική εξέλιξη υπήρξε όταν ο άλλος κοινός τους φίλος, ο Consoul Trainin, (DJ – Παραγωγός που ζεί μόνιμα στο Dubai) ένα χρόνο μετά, ζήτησε από τον Δημήτρη να γράψει ένα βιολιστικό μέρος σε ένα deep house track. Το αποτέλεσμα ήταν το Take Me To Infinity, no 86 World Shazam Chart για το 2016.
Αυτό το τραγούδι έφερε πολλά requests για live performances και διάφορα projects. Σέ κάποιο από αυτά ο Δημήτρης ζητώντας τη συμβολή του Γιώργου σκέφτηκε να παίξουν βιολί και οι δύο τους και κάπου εκεί βρέθηκαν μπροστά σε ένα “eureka moment” και κάπως έτσι γεννήθηκε η ιδέα των DuoViolins.
Το φθινόπωρο του 2017 για να επισφραγίσουν και την ίδρυση του νέου σχήματος, ηχογραφούν σε συνεργασία με τον Consoul Trainin ξανά και τον Steven Aderinto το Obsession, ένα τραγούδι που παρέμεινε για 23 εβδομάδες στο top 15 του Europa Plus (μεγαλύτερου σε ακροαματικότητα σταθμού σε Ρωσία – Ουκρανία). Ταυτόχρονα πραγματοποιούν το πρωτο τους live σε μαγαζί της Γλυφάδας και την πρώτη τους τηλεοπτική εμφάνιση σε βραδινή εκπομπή του Ant1.
Μπαίνουμε στο 2018 και ξεκινάνε τις πρώτες εμφανίσεις με πρωτότυπες δικές τους συνθέσεις, ιδανικές για sunset moments και δικές τους διασκευές από Χατζιδάκι μέχρι Red Hot Chilli Peppers!
Κάθε event για αυτούς είναι διαφορετικό. Αυτό το υποστηρίζουν και με την εικόνα τους στυλιστικά, αλλά και μουσικά διαμορφώνοντας πάντα το ιδανικότερο ρεπερτόριο για την περίσταση, είτε πρόκειται για club show, sunset ritual, wedding party, κα.
Από την άνοιξη του 2018 και μετά μέχρι τον Μάρτιο του 2020 ξεκινάει ένα σερί εμφανίσεων σε εταιρικά events, clubs, ξενοδοχεία σε πολύ ιδιαίτερα venues.
Ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον έχει η συμμέτοχη τους στο επεισόδιο της Γαλλικής εκπομπής “50 minutes inside” του Νίκου Αλιάγα για το TF1, αφιερωμένο στην Μύκονο και τις δραστηριότητες των Duo Violins στο νησί.
Η καραντίνα διακόπτει απότομα ένα σερί παγκόσμιας περιοδείας που είχε φτάσει τις 12 χώρες μέσα σε δεκαέξι (16) μήνες (Μπαλί, Τορόντο, Dubai, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Παρίσι, Φρανκφούρτη κλπ) αλλά τους δίνει χρόνο και έμπνευση να δημιουργήσουν πολλές νέες συνθέσεις αλλά και δισκογραφικές συνεργασίες.
Χαρακτηριστική στιγμή στα μέσα της καραντίνας ήταν η πρωτοβουλία τους να πραγματοποιήσουν την πρώτη τους online συναυλία αφιερωμένη στην γιορτή των ερωτευμένων δηλαδή του Αγίου Βαλεντίνου. Το συγκεκριμένο concept είχε ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον καθώς παρουσίασαν ένα πρόγραμμα – κόντρα σε αυτά που τους είχαμε συνηθίσει. Ορχηστρικό ρεπερτόριο από Αμελί του Yann Tiersen μέχρι Tango του Astor Piazzolla. Έκπληξη στην συγκεκριμένη βραδιά ήταν η guest συμμετοχή των Ανδρομάχη Δημητροπούλου, Άννα Τάρμπα και του Νέαρχου.
Ξεκίνησαν λοιπόν το καλοκαίρι του ‘21 μέχρι την ώρα που γράφονται αυτές οι γραμμές με τα παρακάτω (υπάρχουν άλλα τόσα σε εξέλιξη):
– την κυκλοφορία ενός ιδιαίτερου track με τίτλο BarbaRossa, με concept πειρατικό (της Μεσογείου αντί της Καραιβικής ) το οποίο εξελίσσεται σε απόλυτο ethnic dance anthem σε μαγαζιά της Πάρου, Bodrum και Καΐρου.
– την συμμετοχή τους σε ένα ιδιαίτερο project σε σκηνοθεσία των PickCodes για την παγκόσμια καμπάνια του νέου κινητού της Xiaomi στην πρώτη οπτικοποίηση τραγουδιού (Video Clip) με κινητό.
– την εμφάνιση τους στα Mad Awards σε συνεργασία με την Demy και τον Sergio T.
– ένα art video στο Σαρακήνικο της Μήλου για το track τους με τίτλο Meltem – το οποίο θέλει ολόκληρο αφιέρωμα για να σας διηγηθούνε τις περιπέτειες που ζήσανε.
