ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΜΕΤΑΦΡΑΣΗ ΑΚΟΛΟΥΘΕΙ

Today’s announcement that Turkey approved Sweden’s accession into NATO, along with other “deals” she supposedly made with the West, seem impressive, but they really have no much substance. Here is why:
- Russia expected Sweden to join NATO. After Finland’s membership, Sweden’s accession to NATO makes a small military difference to Russia. Additionally, this deal harms Sweden, which enjoyed unprecedented peace and security because of its neutrality.
- The deal to produce Turkish drones in Ukraine is also full of “fresh air.” It is done mostly for bribery, as Erdogan’s son controls the Turkish drone manufacturer. More importantly, the drones are very low quality, and the Russians have been destroying them easily.
- The Azovstal “Neo-nazi” leaders released by Erdogan will make a good parade in Lviv. But they will prove for all to see that the West supported these Nazis despite their long dirty history – starting with the holocaust of 1.5 million Ukrainian Jews during WWII. The fact that the CIA used these “Banderista” Nazis to cause problems for the Soviets after WWII (until 1954) does not “sanctify” them. They were and still are today, Nazis -period.
- Nobody believes seriously that Turkey gained any promises to enter the EU. First, the Europeans do not want the barbarian Turkish regime – now more than ever. Second, Turkey has no interest to enter the EU. Instead, she is getting plenty of financial support from Qatar and Saudi Arabia, she has a promise from China for a huge loan, and above all, she is getting ready to enter the BRICKs with several other nations. This is personal for Erdogan: he will never forget the fight he gave 20 years ago, at the beginning of his political career, to free Turkey from the claws of the IMF.
Still, the Russians will pretend to be very angry against Erdogan and will take this opportunity to:
- Finish the “grain deal” and close the port of Odessa for business. It is rumored that a part of the Western equipment reached Ukraine through the “grain ships” docking at Odessa. In addition, as the Russian Navy completely controls the Black Sea with its advanced missiles, it will basically take away from Turkey the leverage of the “Straights”. And if push comes to shove, it will give Russia many excuses to attack these Straights militarily.
- Demand many concessions from the Turks, who depend on them for their energy, via two huge gas pipelines under the Black Sea and by the construction by Rosatom of at least two nuclear power plants.
Today’s deal seems purely “theatrical” and affords the West a “show” of a diplomatic victory. In the West, they care mostly for “narratives” and not for substance. But the end game will be purely written on Russian terms. Nobody can instill in the Turks the “fear of God” more powerfully than the Russians – and if you know even the basics of history in this part of the world, you have to admit this fact.
Our major concern from the Hellenic point of view is whether Greece will be forced to pay a (part of the) price in this effort to keep Turkey in the Western camp. So far, it does not seem that there is any deal regarding the F-16s or any other deal with the US as a mediator between the two countries. But with the inadequate (if not treasonous) Greek political elites, all of them playing the song of “reconciliation,” we will not be sure until the facts convince us otherwise.
Questions to these well-fed Greek political elites: You start a “reconciliation” process while Turkey still has in effect, an official threat of war (“casus belli”) voted in her parliament? You start talking about peace while Turkish troops still occupy the North of Cyprus? The word “shame” is not enough to describe those who subscribe to these ideas…
Let me close by reminding you of news that escaped most people’s radar: Erdogan confirmed on July 7 that Putin will visit Turkey in August... Why do you think the two sides kept this trip on their calendar (it was agreed upon much earlier), if they did not have some very serious moves to discuss? Let me make a wild guess: the Erdogan-Putin meeting will occur before the BRICKS summit in Johannesburg… Does this tell you anything?

Ο Ερντογάν σε τεντωμένο σκοινί: Στράφηκε στην πραγματικότητα κατά των Ρώσων;

Η σημερινή ανακοίνωση ότι η Τουρκία ενέκρινε την ένταξη της Σουηδίας στο ΝΑΤΟ, μαζί με άλλες «συμφωνίες» που υποτίθεται ότι έκανε με τη Δύση, φαίνονται εντυπωσιακές, αλλά στην πραγματικότητα δεν έχουν μεγάλη ουσία. Να γιατί:
- Η Ρωσία περίμενε ότι η Σουηδία θα ενταχθεί στο ΝΑΤΟ. Μετά την ένταξη της Φινλανδίας, η ένταξη της Σουηδίας στο ΝΑΤΟ κάνει μια μικρή στρατιωτική διαφορά για τη Ρωσία. Επιπλέον, αυτή η συμφωνία βλάπτει τη Σουηδία, η οποία απολάμβανε άνευ προηγουμένου ειρήνη και ασφάλεια λόγω της ουδετερότητάς της.
- Η συμφωνία για την παραγωγή τουρκικών drones στην Ουκρανία είναι επίσης γεμάτη «φρέσκο αέρα». Γίνεται κυρίως για δωροδοκία, καθώς ο γιος του Ερντογάν ελέγχει τον τουρκικό κατασκευαστή drone. Το πιο σημαντικό είναι ότι τα drones είναι πολύ χαμηλής ποιότητας και οι Ρώσοι τα καταστρέφουν εύκολα.
- Οι ηγέτες των «νεοναζί» του Azovstal που απελευθέρωσε ο Ερντογάν θα κάνουν καλή παρέλαση στο Lviv. Αλλά θα αποδείξουν σε όλους ότι η Δύση υποστήριξε αυτούς τους Ναζί παρά τη μακρά βρώμικη ιστορία τους – ξεκινώντας από το ολοκαύτωμα 1,5 εκατομμυρίου Ουκρανών Εβραίων κατά τον Β’ Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο. Το γεγονός ότι η CIA χρησιμοποίησε αυτούς τους «Μπαντερίστας» Ναζί για να δημιουργήσει προβλήματα στους Σοβιετικούς μετά τον Β’ Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο (μέχρι το 1954) δεν τους «αγιάζει». Ήταν και είναι σήμερα, περίοδος Ναζί.
- Κανείς δεν πιστεύει σοβαρά ότι η Τουρκία έλαβε υποσχέσεις για ένταξη στην ΕΕ. Πρώτον, οι Ευρωπαίοι δεν θέλουν το βάρβαρο τουρκικό καθεστώς – τώρα περισσότερο από ποτέ. Δεύτερον, η Τουρκία δεν έχει κανένα συμφέρον να μπει στην ΕΕ. Αντίθετα, λαμβάνει άφθονη οικονομική υποστήριξη από το Κατάρ και τη Σαουδική Αραβία, έχει μια υπόσχεση από την Κίνα για ένα τεράστιο δάνειο και πάνω από όλα, ετοιμάζεται να μπει στα BRICK με πολλά άλλα έθνη. Αυτό είναι προσωπικό για τον Ερντογάν: δεν θα ξεχάσει ποτέ τον αγώνα που έδωσε πριν από 20 χρόνια, στην αρχή της πολιτικής του καριέρας, για να απελευθερώσει την Τουρκία από τα νύχια του ΔΝΤ.
Ωστόσο, οι Ρώσοι θα προσποιηθούν ότι είναι πολύ θυμωμένοι εναντίον του Ερντογάν και θα εκμεταλλευτούν αυτή την ευκαιρία για να:
- Τελειώσουν τη «συμφωνία σιτηρών» και να κλείσουν για τα καλά το λιμάνι της Οδησσού. Φημολογείται ότι μέρος του δυτικού εξοπλισμού έφτασε στην Ουκρανία μέσω των «πλοίων σιτηρών» που ελλιμενίζονταν στην Οδησσό. Επιπλέον, καθώς το ρωσικό Πολεμικό Ναυτικό ελέγχει πλήρως τη Μαύρη Θάλασσα με τους προηγμένους πυραύλους του, ουσιαστικά θα αφαιρέσει από την Τουρκία το ατού των Στενών. Και αν έρθει η καταλληλη στιγμη, θα δώσει στη Ρωσία πολλές δικαιολογίες για να επιτεθεί στρατιωτικά σε αυτά τα Στενά.
- Θα απαιτήσουν πολλές παραχωρήσεις από τους Τούρκους, που εξαρτώνται από αυτούς για την ενέργειά τους, μέσω δύο τεράστιων αγωγών φυσικού αερίου κάτω από τη Μαύρη Θάλασσα και με την κατασκευή τουλάχιστον δύο πυρηνικών σταθμών από τη Rosatom.
Η σημερινή συμφωνία φαίνεται καθαρά «θεατρική» και προσφέρει στη Δύση μια «παράσταση» διπλωματικής νίκης. Στη Δύση νοιάζονται κυρίως για τις «αφηγήσεις» και όχι για την ουσία. Αλλά το τέλος του παιχνιδιού θα είναι καθαρά γραμμένο με ρωσικούς όρους. Κανείς δεν μπορεί να ενσταλάξει στους Τούρκους τον «φόβο του Θεού» πιο δυνατά από τους Ρώσους – και αν γνωρίζετε ακόμη και τα βασικά της ιστορίας σε αυτό το μέρος του κόσμου, πρέπει να παραδεχτείτε αυτό το γεγονός.
Το κύριο μέλημά μας από ελληνικής πλευράς είναι αν η Ελλάδα θα αναγκαστεί να πληρώσει ένα (μέρος του) τίμημα σε αυτή την προσπάθεια να παραμείνει η Τουρκία στο δυτικό στρατόπεδο. Μέχρι στιγμής, δεν φαίνεται να υπάρχει κάποια συμφωνία για τα F-16 ή κάποια άλλη συμφωνία με τις ΗΠΑ ως μεσολαβητή μεταξύ των δύο χωρών. Αλλά με τις ανεπαρκείς (αν όχι προδοτικές) ελληνικές πολιτικές ελίτ, που παίζουν όλες το τραγούδι της «συμφιλίωσης», δεν θα είμαστε σίγουροι μέχρι τα γεγονότα να μας πείσουν για το αντίθετο.
Ερωτήσεις προς αυτές τις καλοταϊσμένες ελληνικές πολιτικές ελίτ: Ξεκινάτε μια διαδικασία «συμφιλίωσης» ενώ η Τουρκία έχει ακόμη σε ισχύ, μια επίσημη απειλή πολέμου («casus belli») που ψηφίστηκε στο κοινοβούλιο της; Αρχίζετε να μιλάτε για ειρήνη ενώ τα τουρκικά στρατεύματα εξακολουθούν να κατέχουν τη Βόρεια Κύπρο; Η λέξη «ντροπή» δεν αρκεί για να περιγράψει αυτούς που προσυπογράφουν αυτές τις ιδέες…
Επιτρέψτε μου να κλείσω υπενθυμίζοντας τα νέα που διέφυγαν από τα ραντάρ των περισσότερων ανθρώπων: Ο Ερντογάν επιβεβαίωσε στις 7 Ιουλίου ότι ο Πούτιν θα επισκεφθεί την Τουρκία τον Αύγουστο… Γιατί πιστεύετε ότι οι δύο πλευρές κράτησαν αυτό το ταξίδι στο ημερολόγιό τους (συμφωνήθηκε πολύ νωρίτερα) , αν δεν είχαν κάποιες πολύ σοβαρές κινήσεις να συζητήσουν; Επιτρέψτε μου να κάνω μια τρελή εικασία: η συνάντηση Ερντογάν-Πούτιν θα πραγματοποιηθεί πριν από τη σύνοδο κορυφής των BRICKS στο Γιοχάνεσμπουργκ… Σας λέει κάτι αυτό;

Turkey greenlights Sweden’s NATO membership ahead of critical summit
Turkey agreed to advance Sweden’s NATO bid on Monday after intense diplomacy in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius, where a two-day summit of the alliance is set to kick off Tuesday.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced Monday that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had agreed to ask its parliament to advance Stockholm’s bid to join the transatlantic alliance, calling it a “historic step which makes all NATO allies stronger and safer.”
President Joe Biden swiftly hailed the news, saying he stood “ready to work with President Erdogan and [Turkey] on enhancing defense and deterrence in the Euro-Atlantic area.” In a statement issued by the White House he added, “I look forward to welcoming Prime Minister [Ulf] Kristersson and Sweden as our 32nd NATO Ally. And I thank Secretary General Stoltenberg for his steadfast leadership.”
The news came after Erdogan met with Stoltenberg and Kristersson for a second time Monday, part of a last ditch attempt to get Ankara to approve Sweden’s bid.
The breakthrough deals a blow to Russia’s efforts to drive a wedge in the Western security alliance and will likely prompt Hungary, another holdout, to approve Sweden’s bid as well.
It remains unclear what Erdogan secured in exchange for his climb down other than NATO’s pledge to appoint a “special coordinator for counterterrorism” and further pledges from Sweden to address Turkey’s security concerns under a under a new bilateral Security Compact that will meet annually at ministerial level announced by NATO in a statement.
Erdogan could yet hold up a vote in the parliament if he so chooses.
Erdogan had raised the stakes further ahead the key summit in Vilnius and a meeting with Biden tomorrow, suggesting that Ankara’s stalled membership talks with the European Union should be revived in exchange for greenlighting Sweden’s accession to the alliance.
“First, pave the way for Turkey in the European Union and then let us pave the way for Sweden, just as we paved the way for Finland,” Erdogan told reporters before taking off for the Lithuanian capital, where he held trilateral talks with Stoltenberg and Kristersson which apparently yielded no results.
The call for a tradeoff on the EU is the latest in a series of Turkish demands in exchange for approving Sweden’s membership. They include Erdogan’s insistence that Sweden prevent pro-Kurdish demonstrations from taking place on its soil and extraditing various individuals Turkey labels as terrorists.
Stoltenberg backed Erdogan’s call, saying that he supported Turkey’s ambition of joining the EU, an empty gesture since he has no influence over the decision. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, however, pushed back saying that Turkey’s ill-fated stab at joining the European bloc could not be linked to Sweden’s bid to join NATO.
Erdogan’s last-minute brinkmanship before the summit kicks off on July 11 is part of a long-running strategy of extracting maximum concessions before yielding to pressure, much of it from the United States.
In a thinly veiled reference to congressional sanctions on military sales to Turkey stemming from its 2019 invasion of northern Syria and acquisition of Russian missile batteries, Erdogan said he would use the summit to “repeat our call to the allies who impose sanctions and restrictions on Turkey to quickly turn back from this mistake.”
Opinion remained divided to the last minute as to whether Erdogan would cave. Marc Pierini, a former EU ambassador to Ankara and a senior fellow at Carnegie Europe, aired doubts, saying the Turkish leader had painted himself into a corner. “The EU gambit lacks credibility,” Pierini said, recalling that Turkey’s dismal human rights record “disqualifies Turkey from membership negotiations.”
Most notably, Turkey continues to ignore European Court of Human Rights’ rulings calling for the immediate release of philanthropist Osman Kavala and Kurdish politician Selahattin Demirtas, who have been in jail since 2017 and 2016 respectively on thinly-evidenced terror charges. Turkey’s EU demand “looks primarily like an unrealistic off-ramp from Ankara’s self-engineered deadlock on Sweden,” Pierini said.
Sweden’s bid to join NATO after decades of determined neutrality together with Finland followed Russia’s February 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Even as he listed reasons for objecting to Sweden’s adherence, Erdogan said he supported Ukraine’s membership, reasoning that ending the war with “a just and lasting peace as soon as possible will further facilitate Ukraine’s NATO membership process.” That comment will have surely riled the Kremlin, which aired its anger this weekend over Turkey’s decision to allow five members of Ukraine’s paramilitary Azov regiment to fly back home with visiting Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskyy.
In a Sunday phone call with Biden, Erdogan made many of the same arguments, though they were not reflected in the White House readout. It said the pair had taken up “a range of issues that NATO leaders will consider at the summit, expressed their shared commitment to continue supporting Ukraine, and reviewed efforts to strengthen our bilateral ties.”
“President Biden also conveyed his desire to welcome Sweden in NATO as soon as possible,” the readout noted.
The Turkish presidency said the sides had agreed to meet in person in Vilnius and to discuss regional issues in detail. The meeting is expected to take place Tuesday evening.
The readout from the Turkish presidency said that despite having taken “certain steps in the right direction” — a reference to Sweden’s recently revamped anti-terror legislation — its failure to prevent demonstrations in support of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, that is waging an armed campaign against the Turkish state rendered such moves “meaningless.”
Erdogan also apparently raised the ongoing controversy over Turkey’s efforts to buy US F-16 fighter jets. The White House backs the sale. Congress insists that Turkey needs to lift its veto on Sweden’s membership first. Linking Turkey’s acquisition of F-16 jets to Sweden’s membership was misguided, the Turkish readout observed. Nonetheless, the Turkish leader thanked Biden for his support for the sales.

According to Patrick Theros of The National Herald Mistotakis is prepared to support EU membership of Turkey, which would legitimize the Ethnic and Religiious Cleansing of the Greek Cypriots from Northern Cyprus and of Russian Speaking Ukrainians Orthodox Christians of Ukraine! Not only would it immediately criminalize EU As it already has U.S led Nato in not removing Turkey from Nato, but legitimately confirm that they have always been “State Sponsors of Terrorism and accessories to War Crimes in waging “Humanitarian Endless Wars!
this is to put it quite mildly, though. as TNH columnist and the West has been covering up Kiev’s and Turkey whose ugly record of human rights infringements for years, as well as far-right Ukrainian nationalism on the rise since the 2014 Maidan revolution and its neo-Nazism, best exemplified by the infamous Azov Brigade, part of the National Guard of Ukraine (which makes it the only country in the world to have an openly Fascist brigade as part of its forces) – not to mention Ukraine’s state terrorism and its chauvinist oppression against Russian-speaking Ukrainians, particularly in the Donbass region, since the Donbass civil war broke out in 2014.
It is not as if things had gotten any more “democratic” after Zelensky’s election, in any case. He has after all been waging a war against the Orthodox Church, and at least 11 political parties have been banned so far over their “pro-Russia” stances. Volodymyr Ishchenko, a research associate at the Institute of East European Studies (Freie Universität Berlin), has written that, since 2014, “pro-Russia” has been employed as a label to marginalize “anyone calling for Ukraine’s neutrality” as well as “state-developmentalist, anti-Western, illiberal, populist, left-wing, and many other discourses.”
In the aforementioned article, it goes on to also acknowledge Ukraine’s notorious “lack of judicial independence”, “lack of government transparency” and “endemic official corruption” (according to Freedom House’ reports) as other reasons why “drawing Ukraine further into NATO’s orbit now is premature” – and things have only gotten worse in terms of political rights and civil liberties.
Lets be clear .The U.S leader of Nato is not “INDEMNIFIED ” for the actions of Nato partner Turkey, Ukraine, Germany or any other Nato Member who violates International laws ..like Turkey has done in Cyprus and Syria….
Nato and EU … basically an International Crime Syndicate running a Racketeering and Protection Racket for any Regime to violate with immunity all International laws without threat of prosecution! Edrogan , Biden, Zelensky , Netanyahue, ete etc …are geting away with War Crimes every day !
“Το μέλλον του ΝΑΤΟ” ήταν το 1966 ένα θέμα προς διαπραγμάτευση μεταξύ των εν ενεργεία Αξιωματικών όλων των Χωρών της Συμμαχίας.
Ως Αξιωματικός συμμετείχα τότε και εγώ στο διαγωνισμό.
Προέβλεψα στο δοκίμιό μου και προείπα το κακό τέλος της Συμμαχίας, καταθέτοντας ακαταμάχητα από τότε ιστορικά επιχειρήματα, όπως αυτά ακριβώς συνέβησαν προ 2400 χρόνια με τις συμμαχίες του Πελοποννησιακού Πολέμου, που τόσο αριστοτεχνικά περιέγραψε ο Θουκυδίδης.
Καίτοι η συμμετοχή μου τότε ήταν με κεκαλυμμένα τα στοιχεία μου (όπως και όλων όσων συμμετείχαν) το γραπτό μου επεστράφη (αγνοώ από ποιό επίπεδο διοικήσεως) γιά αναμόρφωση, κάτι που προφανώς αρνήθηκα να πράξω, γιατί ήμουνα βέβαιος γιά το επικείμενον τέλος του ΝΑΤΟ από τότε, ως αναπόφευκτη ιστορική εξέλιξη.
Σήμερα ύστερα από 60 σχεδόν χρόνια επανέρχομαι στην από τότε εκφρασθείσαν θέση μου περί της αναπόφευκτης διάλυσης του ΝΑΤΟ, κάτι που παρ΄ ολίγον να είχε ήδη συμβεί από τις αρχές του 2022, ‘οταν ο Μακρόν το απεκάλεσε νεκρό.
Το εξύπνησε η έναρξη του Ρωσο-Ουκρανικού Πολέμου στις 24.2.2022 αλλά προσωρινώς, γιατί η νίκη της Ουκρανίας είναι λογικά αδύνατη, όση βοήθεια και αν δεχθεί από το ΝΑΤΟ, γιατί την ήττα τη δέχθηκε στα σπλάγχνα της από το 2018, όταν ο Πατριάρχης Βαρθολομαίος διήρεσε θρησκευτικά τη Χώρα.
Θρησκευτικά διηρημένη Χώρα είναι αδύνατον τελικά να κερδήσει έναν πόλεμο. Αυτό δεν μπορεί να το κατανοήσει η σημερινή Ηγεσία του ΝΑΤΟ, πλην του Trump.
Ούτε τυχόν ένταξη της Ουκρανίας στο ΝΑΤΟ τελικά θα την ωφελήσει, γιατί απλώς θα συμβεί ότι και στο Βιετνάμ και το Αφγανιστάν.
Το θέμα είναι εσωτερικό της Ουκρανίας και δεν μπορεί να επιλυθεί με εξωτερική βοήθεια.
Αυτό ας το κατανοήσουν οι Δυτικές Χώρες, πριν είναι αργά και γι΄ αυτές αλλά και γιά τις παγκόσμιες υπόγειες μυστικές στοές, που ανοήτως υποκινούν τις Ηγεσίες αυτών των Δυνάμεων. Μάταια ελπίζουν.-

So you say you were an official in Greece in 1966 , then you know ..that the Greek leadership was contemplating getting out of Nato ..because they understood the third party commitment they would be facing in following U.S criminal wars and economic poltices …and you should have known ..who rules to this day all the Nato countries of Europe ..including Greece …
