(Σε απάντηση πρόσφατης επιστολής των “Αρχόντων” στον Πατριάρχη για το Καταστατικό – την οποία παραθέτουμε στο τέλος)
Οι “ άρχοντες” είναι μια πολύ μικρή μειοψηφία και δεν μπορούν να αποφασίζουν για ολόκληρη την ομογένεια. Αν προχωρήσει και κάνει αυτό το τραγικό λάθος ο Πατριάρχης και επαναφέρει το καθεστώς που υπήρχε επί Ιακώβου θα γίνει ρεζίλι των σκυλιών διότι θα είναι πλέον ολοφάνερο ότι τότε που άλλαξε τον καταστατικό χάρτη της Εκκλησίας της Αμερικής το έκανε από μίσος κατά του χαρισματικού ηγέτη της ορθοδοξίας, του τελευταίου Αρχιεπισκόπου Βορείου και Νοτίου Αμερικής Μακαριστού Ιακώβου.
Η επαναφορά θα είναι επίσης πλήγμα κατά των νύν Μητροπολιτών, που μπορεί να τους οδηγήσει ακόμη και σε παραίτηση αν έχουν κάποιο απόθεμα αξιοπρέπειας, παρά να γίνουν επίσκοποι, Σαρδέλας, γαύρου, Κολιού και άλλων ιχθύων όπως δέχτηκε ο πρώην Νέας Υερσέης Ευάγγελος ο οποίος εδάκρυσε όταν προλόγισε τον πρόσφατα χειροτονιθέντα εις την Μητρόπολή τη Απόστολο. Δεν ξέρω αν πρέπει να κλαίμε η να γελούμε με όσα συμβαίνουν στην Εκκλησία μας. Αν δεχθεί αν υποκύψει θα είναι ένα ράπισμα, ένα δυνατό χαστούκι προς τον ανώτατο θεσμό της Ορθόδοξης πίστης του νέου ημερολογίου (να το λέμε κι’αυτό) διότι θα αποδειχθεί ότι κυβερνά το Αρχονταρίκιον χρήμα την Αγία μας Εκκλησία και όχι το Άγιο Πνεύμα.
Εδώ στον Λιλικά της Χίου που παραθερίζω, κάθε βράδυ που ανάβω το καντήλι στο Εκκλησάκι μου που εορτάζεται του Αγίου Πνεύματος, προσεύχομαι το φώς του να φωτίσει όλους τους κορωνοφόρους από τον μεγαλύτερο μέχρι τον μικρότερον , να συνέλθουν και για να σταματήσουν όλα τα ευτράπελα που συμβαίνουν μεταξύ των , στην επόμενη Οικουμενική σύνοδο να επαναφέρουν τον θεσμό που ίσχυε κάποτε , όλοι οι ρασοφόροι πλήν των Καλογήρων να χορεύουν τον χορό του Ισαία …. δηλαδή να Παντρεύονται και να αποδεχτεί η Εκκλησία επιτέλους ότι τα φύλλα είναι μόνο δύο , ότι και να σοφίζονται περί του αντιθέτου , είναι , εκτροπή, είναι ανωμαλία, είναι ματαιότητα. Τώρα πηγαίνω για το καντήλι και θα παρακαλέσω το Άγιο Πνεύμα να τους φωτίσει ….. Αμήν Από την Χίο μετά του Χριστού αγάπη…

Archons support Charter Reform in accordance with Ecumenical Patriarchate

My brother Archons,
As you know, in 2020 the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople initiated a process to review and revise the Charter of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. As part of this process, the Patriarchate created a Mixed Commission of lay people and clergy, including representatives from our Archdiocese who were recommended by the Holy Eparchial Synod, to discuss concerns regarding the Archdiocesan charter and to develop a framework for an amended or new charter to be presented to the Ecumenical Patriarchate for consideration. His Eminence Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon and His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America are the co-chairs of the Mixed Commission with the blessing of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Finally, as part of the charter process, the Ecumenical Patriarchate gave its blessing for Archbishop Elpidophoros to meet with clergy and lay people around the United States to discuss his vision for a revised charter. As Archons in service to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, we unequivocally support the above efforts by the Ecumenical Patriarchate. By charging His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros with the ability to speak directly to the faithful, the Patriarchate has given all of us a unique opportunity to participate in the process of revising the charter, and we encourage all Archons to participate in that process. While the charter of the Archdiocese, an eparchy of the Ecumenical Throne, is the sole determination of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, we are confident that in its pastoral wisdom, the Patriarchate will provide a revised charter that will be perfectly tailored to meet the needs of future generations of Orthodox Christian faithful in this country.
