Patriarch Bartholomew spent a few days in Athens for a conference celebrating 100 years of the journal “Theologia”.  Among the meetings he had the most important was with AB Anastasios of Albania, given their disagreement on the Ukrainian autocephaly and their recent spat over the election of Bishop Theophan Koja (link here for Helleniscope’s report). Anastasios is the most enlightened Orthodox hierarch globally in our days and Bartholomew is the most morally -and in every other way – corrupt.  I wish I was a fly-in-the-wall in their meeting… We could not find any “communique” or other announcement on what was discussed. This in itself is an indication of the “climate” in their relationship…

Then the Patriarch met the controversial new leader of leftist Syriza who has plans for the recognition of gay marriage and also, with his partner, Tyler, wants to adopt a child… Below is the report from  Yes, they spoke about Ukraine, the Middle East, and the “environment”…

Ecumenical Patriarch met Greek Opposition leader Stefanos Kasselakis in Athens

The Greek Opposition leader and president of the center-left party “Syriza – Progressive Alliance”, Stefanos Kasselakis, met with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on Friday afternoon, October 13, 2023, at the Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens.

It is recalled that Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew had sent a congratulatory letter to the newly-elected President of the Opposition Party of Greece, Stefanos Kasselakis. He wished him “to promote the interests of Greece and its people and to contribute to the stability in the region and the prevalence of peace in the world, for which the Church constantly wishes.”

“Our work has started and it is important. I know that you have offered a lot to those affected by the summer natural disasters in Thessaly. I have also visited Thessaly three times myself. I have spoken about all my political views regarding love for fellow human beings. Christian values are in line with my political views. I would like to offer my fellow human beings a better life,” Stefanos Kasselakis told the Ecumenical Patriarch.

“I am glad to hear that, because love for our fellow human beings is a basic value of Christianity, the center of the Christian faith,” replied the Ecumenical Patriarch.

They also discussed initiatives for peace and observance of the international law in Ukraine and in the Middle East, as well as efforts made by the Ecumenical Patriarchate with regard to the protection of the environment.

In addition, they talked about issues regarding the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Stefanos Kasselakis expressed his support to the efforts for the re-opening of the Theological School of Chalki.

  1. The most ugly picture I have seen in my
life is the one in Saint Nicholas ( ground zero) Bartholomew with Saint Nicholas.
    What a shame!

  2. “Bartholomew is the most morally -and in every other way – corrupt”

Not even remotely true, even if you dislike Patriarch Bartholomew, there are others way out in front and ready to take the most corrupt crown.

  3. In the end is the Greek Orthodox Christians of America and Greece who are accountable, since, obviously they have elected thme and worshop them , and they ae the only ones who can remove them .

The answer is simple …. I have advised my Church that I will reduce by stewarship donaton by 20%, until they advise me as to the legitimacy of Gay Marriage in our churches , which apparently, we have been misled for centuries , does not fit the Traditional family values of the original Church of Christ !

I will then demand that Mistotakis and the Greek Government stop fundign the Greek Orthodox Church of Greece and America , which Bartholomew no different than Mendendez beiing bribed to Influence peddlel the interest of the Greek Government , not the interests of our lord and savior!

stop posting the criminal conduct of Bartholomew …I am not interested , he does not exist , but only esist to satisfy his Politicla benefactors of the God of money and poower!

Has any Orthodox Christian done anything to boycott Bartholomew ? Not to my knowledge , I can’t even get them to condemn the blatant persecution of the Orthnodox Clergy of the Ukraine!

We have a genocide going on in Israel by U.S and zionist government …and they don’t care …and in the long run … they will have no passport to heaven when you worship Satan rather than God!
