EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis): Two years ago, in December 2021-January 2022, the Orthodox World was shaken by the announcement that the Moscow Patriarchate had opened an Exarchate in Africa and started adopting priests and parishes. Recently, Interfax reported that, since then, the Russian Orthodox Church has opened more than 200 parishes there (link here)!! At that time, it was rumored that the Russian Church was getting ready to open Exarchates in Turkey and Greece – actually Met. Ilarion had stated as much for Turkey!  As a result, Karloutsos was suddenly seen in Cairo (with suitcases full of cash, one has to assume) to court Patriarch Theodoros, who was then invited to America for more donations from the “Leaders” of the Patriarchate (and agents of the “Deep State”)…

Yesterday, Orthochristian.com reported (below) that a website has been launched to serve the 14 Russian Parishes in Turkey! We, of course, have to wonder whether this is the beginning of an Exarchate – it certainly looks like it is… Pat. Bartholomew has sown the wind, and he is now reaping the whirlwind… He is being dragged, and he is led on every issue, as the “same-sex marriage” story proved.  The only thing that he understands – like all Turks – is power: he was told by Karloutsos that after the statements by Athos and the decision of the Church of Greece, he would be finished if he did not make a statement on “same-sex marriage.” And he immediately did.

But do not expect Bartholomew to act better than a mule from his home island of Imvros on other issues.  Do not expect him to call Zelensky or Epiphanios and tell them that prosecuting the Russians of Ukraine (and among them 150,000 Greeks) because they speak their language and they go to their churches (under the Moscow Patriarchate) is not right… No, No, No… The mule from Imvros will kick with his rear legs in every direction and keep acting like a Pope…

Until the rest of the Orthodox hierarchs find the courage to call a Panorthodox Synod and take him out of office, as they certainly have the right to do. Those of us who know a bit of history understand that IT IS NOT THE CONSTANTINOPLE PATRIARCH’S  EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO CALL SUCH A SYNOD… AND THERE ARE NO POPES IN ORTHODOXY

The Moscow Patriarchate has launched an official website for its parish communities that function on the canonical territory of the Patriarchate of Constantinople in Turkey.

The Russian Church began forming communities in Turkey after the Patriarchate of Constantinople entered into communion with the Ukrainian schismatics in October 2018 and created the “Orthodox Church of Ukraine” later that year.

Recall that the Russian Holy Synod responded by severing communion with Constantinople a few days later in October 2018.

Interestingly, while the Synod broke communion with Constantinople but has never characterized the Patriarchate itself as schismatic, the page for the parish community in Antalya, states: “The history of the emergence of the parish of the Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) in Antalya is connected with the schism of the Patriarchate of Constantinople” (emphasis added).

The new site provides addresses, service schedules, and more for 14 Russian communities, the majority of which are served by Fr. Georgy Sergeev, who arrived in Turkey on November 14, 2018, “to minister to believers throughout the entire Turkish Republic.”

The site is currently available in Russian. Turkish and English versions are under development.

  1. “Pat. Bartholomew has sown the wind, and he is now reaping the whirlwind… ”

Yup! There is a precedent. After all, don’t do to others what you don’t like to be done to you… The Orthodox Church will go on… This is brilliant!

  2. “Play stupid games, win stupid prizes”

This should be the personal slogan of Patriarch Bartholomew.

Much like what’s going on here in the U.S with multiple states rallying behind Texas against the Federal government, I hope the other Churches rally against the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
