A military installation in the port of Odesa was the target of the Russian attack and not Mitsotakis – Why he wanted to meet with Zelensky

The visit of Kyriakos Mitsotakis to Odessa was kept secret, with the Maximos Palace keeping a fishy silence even when information was leaked about the Greek Prime Minister’s trip to Ukraine.

The visit was organized under conditions of extreme secrecy for security reasons, according to government sources, and was agreed upon in the last telephone conversation Mitsotakis had with Zelensky at the end of January.

And it was the desire of Mitsotakis himself to make the trip because he desperately wanted to send a message of support to Ukraine, but also a message to the Greek element of the country, even though it has suffered persecution from Kiev.

After all, this was the real reason for the visit and the meeting with Zelensky. That is, the continuation of support to Ukraine both on a political and military level.

And let the reactions have been strong for two years, with the dispatch of armored personnel carriers from Greece to Ukraine, a dispatch that had been announced by the German chancellor and not by the Greek government.

A military installation in the port of Odessa is the target, not Mitsotakis
However, Russia denies that the explosion, which occurred 150 meters away from the Greek mission, was caused by a missile strike aimed at Mitsotakis or Zelensky.

On the contrary, it was confirmed that a military target was hit in the port of Odessa, from where the Russians believe that the unmanned aerial vehicles that have hit Russian warships were leaving.

  1. Hey Nick ..what is there to say ..except he has been an accessory in aiding and abetting a Jewish Zionist Nazi Regime like the leaders of America and EU parliament tin the oppression of Human rights and religious freedoms, of Russian speaking Orthodox Christians of the Urkaine , the war crime bombing of civilian population in Eastern Ukraine and Russia, and in collaborating in the illegal use of Economic Sanctions on Russia and 37 countries of the world which obstruct interstate and International commerce and target the Civilian populations of the world to starve them to death so they willl cooperated in Regime changes of their elected officials !! He is basically a “Nazi Collaborator” subject to arrest! It is as simple as that ..but like all Tyrants and mobsters …no successful Tyrant or member of a Crime Syndicate can succeed without the cooperation of Law enforcement agencies of America and EU /Nato governments .

  2. When Catherine took back Odessa, she invited Greeks and Jews to plan their national regeneration from there.
But, of course, she wanted them to the become part of the Czarist EMpire just like Georgia, which was swallowed up as soon as free from Turks

    • She also gave them a lot of freedoms. Greeks were allowed to raise the Russian flag on their boats and became extremely wealthy because of this. In 1812 there was a fully fledged Greek business school in Odessa!! Just think about it!…

      • That is true. The use of the Russian flag enabled the Greeks to become wealthy merchants and ship owners. Russia was the America of the late 1700’s to the Greeks. Merchants had built great fortunes by migrating to Russia. Great Britain was its competitor and wanted to keep her away from the Bosphorus and Konstantinople. Which percipitated the Crimea War, pitting France, Turkey and England against Russia. Which war Russia eventually lost. But then, something went awry. Russia became more autocratic, while Europe was becoming more liberal. Its people were constantly demanding a Duma. By 1905, Russia declared war on Japan, partly to calm its citizens. Russia was beaten and its fleet annihilated. The period from her loss to Japan- the first European country to be beaten by an Asiatic- to WWI was a period of upheavals, assassinations and strikes. Czar Nichola’s response, a good but weak man, was to crack down hard. When WWI broke, Russia was part of the ENTANTE nations. The war briefly united the Russians, until the deplorable state of the army and the losses of millions of soldiers’ lives, instigated a revolution, the assassination of the Czar and his family, the withdrawal from the war and Bolshevism taking charge

        • Lambros as we approach the Greek Independence Day it would be a good idea for all of us to focus on these years (1780-1820) when, thanks to Katherine the Great and Kapodistrias, among many others on the Russian government, the Greeks around the Black Sea and the Mediterranean flourished as merchants and seamen. There would be no Greek Revolution without the Russian help. Not to mention breaking the British Embargo on Marseilles in 1812 where the Greek shipowners made untold fortunes… But having a Greek business school in Odessa around 1810 has significance much bigger than we realize… Even today in America, despite having many thousands of wealthy Greeks and thousands of university professors we are unable to have anything similar at the highest education level…
