For a second time in a few days, “Constantinople” in its mythical Byzantine/Hellenic sense came back to life… After a bunch of Greek Air Force Fighter School Cadets (“Ikaron” – among the best “top gun” schools globally) flew Greek flags outside Hagia Sophia, we saw in “X” this photo of Steve Bannon showing a (Christmas gift?) T-shirt with a “Free Constantinople” sign in big fat letters…
What does this mean? Is this out of the blue? It is certainly not out of the blue… A couple of years ago, Elon Musk used the correct term “Constantinople” on his way there to visit, surprising everyone… At the time, he was trying to buy Twitter… The Turks weren’t as happy as you can imagine because his post included a reminder of the Fall of Constantinople in 1453 AD…
Yes, the mythical status of “the City,” the Queen of all cities, will always excite people’s imagination… And then there were some “prophecies” about the future liberation of “the City” that were deemed interesting enough to be analyzed by the CIA... There were several reports that in a special CIA unit analyzing prophecies from all world religions, St.Paisios’ prophecies were included…
I could go on wondering about the meaning of the Hellenic heritage in Western Civilization, as incorporated symbolically by Constantinople, about the continuing de-Hellenization of the Western Civilization by the “Judeo-Christian” exploitative “hegemons,” about the “war against Orthodoxy” globally (in which Pat. Bartholomew has become a pawn), and so on… We will have many opportunities to continue delving into such issues… Over one thousand years of Crusades, Colonialism, and Imperialism have brought humanity to its knees… The symbol of Constantinople is the opposite of all that: Let’s not forget that in about ten years (around 970-980 AD), two Byzantine princesses, Theophano and Anna (Porfyrogennita) managed to start the civilization process of the two most significant (then barbaric) nations of Europe, the Germans and the Russians respectively – by marrying King Otto II and Prince Vladimir… “Constantinople” is an eternal Hellenic symbol of enlightenment for humanity…
