As the Ukrainian “Democratic” Parliament was getting ready to vote Bill 8371 to ban UOC (the Orthodox church under Met. Onufryi, representing 70% of Ukrainian Orthodox – link here), the “Archons of Disaster” Gathered in Athens to talk about Freedom of Religion!! The contrast could not be sharper!
The conference ended today with former Secretary of State, CIA chief and warmonger and deep state rat Mike Pompeo trying to convince everyone that he cares about re-opening Hagia Sophia and Moni Tis Choras… Yes, my friends, the Deep State establishment that for 50 years could not open the Halki Seminary will now be successful!… Unbelievable cynicism!.. Let me list the “accomplishments” of the 3-day useless event.
- On Sunday morning, Elpidophoros had the Liturgy at the Athens Cathedral (which he should not have been allowed to have…). After the liturgy, he spoke about the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, thinking that he should be applauded whenever he stated the obvious… Later Elpidophoros posted on his FB account part of the liturgy, dressed with Protestant Church music, in “rock n roll” style… A few hours later, faced with a cataclysm of negative comments, he pulled it off… Why does he have to create a new controversy every day?
- AHEPA Supreme President Savvas Tsivicos repeated his beloved phrase, “Cyprus is not Far,” meaning to call Greece to support Cyprus. But when he and all the Archons visited the Foreign Ministry, he did not open his mouth to demand the reinstatement of the “Unified Defense Space” between Greece and Cyprus. Why? Because his puppeteers at the State Department do not allow it…
- The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Vilnius (Lithuania) had a “Russophobic” crescendo as he stressed that “Russia will keep pushing until someone stands up to it,” in essence calling for a “Crusade” against Russia. Reprehensible!
- Dr. Despina Hadjivassiliou-Tsovilis, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, after her Russophobic explosion, called for an “open border policy throughout Europe” – in essence promoting the destructive globalist migration policies!
- Mike Pompeo, warmonger extraordinaire, praised Bartholomew for granting “Cacocephaly” to Ukraine and, in the process, spent a few minutes to accuse Erdogan. Mr.Pompeo, how many more decades does the “powerful” American deep state need to force the Turks to open the Halki Seminary? President Trump brought back the protestant pastor (who Erdogan held hostage) in a few weeks… Why are you so powerless?
- The leadership (Gerapetritis, Papadopoulou) was absent from the Archons’ visit to the Greek Foreign Ministry. Also, PM Mitsotakis, to his credit, refused to speak at the conference despite being listed as the main speaker by Elpidophoros. This can only mean one thing: Greece insists on the position expressed by Mrs.Papadopoulou to Pat. Bartholomew last November and demands the replacement of the Archbishop!
- The announcement topped the Russophobic feast: Alexei Navalny’s widow, Yulia, will receive the 2024 Athenagoras Human Rights Award!! The deep state promotes Yulia as the leader of the Russian opposition. Apparently, they have agreed to form an “opposition in exile” for Russia, led by Julia, and – soon – a government in Exile for Ukraine, led by Zelensky (if he is alive – my prediction is that soon, before the end of June, he will likely not be alive).
Finally, would anyone account for the vast amounts of money spent on this useless, anti-Orthodox, and anti-Christian hate-fest? I am not holding my breath… They could much better spend it to feed the needy…

Nick. You give the archons too much credit. They have no power to do anything of consequence, other than post harmless statements about their “disappointment” when the next church is made into a mosque. They can do nothing against Russia, nothing against Turkey. It was just an opportunity to spend money. enjoy themselves and feel as if they’re actually “protecting” the patriarchate or “religious freedom”. They have no pull, they have no political power, and dreams of a crusade against Russia or anyone else, is hallucination. I’m sure Erdogan is laughing at their naivete, that they could influence him in any shape or form not to convert the next church into a mosque, or to turn Ayia Sophia into a church again. Or to re open Halki. The archons (what a useless designation) are really pathetic, if they actually feel as protectors of anything, let alone democracy or religious freedom.
Correct – but they do what they can to promote deep state propaganda which in the end will turn out to be very harmful for all of us and particularly for Orthodoxy
John Catsimatides has President Trump’s ear and has (unbelievably) recommended Pompeo, Haley, and Tim Scott to him for VP. I’d call that pull and political power. Catsimatides is completely out of touch with these recommendations; it’s ridiculous and needs to be called OUT. Listen for yourself:

Once again, Mr. Stamatakis, I thank you for exclusively informing Orthodox in America of the treachery of the GOA “leaders”. By treachery, I mean helping the globalist leaders, like Pompeo divide the Orthodox church. I determine supporting or opposing the saintly, and much persecuted Ukranian Metropolitan Onufrios as a way of separating “the good guys from the bad guys”. By your description of the infamous meeting in Athens, this was a convocation of the bad guys.
GOA faithful, vote with your wallets. Stop supporting your churches until they send a worthy, believing Archbishop to lead the Church. No more, fake Holy Jokes like Elpidoktonos We want a genuine Orthodox believing bishop. Until then, Antiochian is very similar to the Greek, or ROCOR and OCA are faithful to Orthodox teachings. The so called “archons” are basically the useful idiots of the GOA & Patriarchate. They are simply used for their money and made to feel that they are important by praises from the archbishop and other bishops & priests, but that is mainly done because of their money. If they didn’t have money, they wouldn’t be given much attention. The archons and GOA are all in their own little world believing their own fantasies of grandeur which in reality isn’t the case. They have no influence in world affairs whatsoever-it’s laughable to think they do! they are just a tool and allow themselves to be used (some are so dumb they don’t even realize it), so they can get some attention in return. You’d have to be pretty vain to be part of this group. Nobody who attends church cares about these people really. They can wear there pocket insert and stand in the front row and once the service is over everyone already forgot about them.
