EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis).  This is a truly historic moment – and a very teachable one!! We often refer to the leaders of Greece as “traitors,” but we rarely have a clear and very distinct definition of what it means to be a traitor.  In this 1-minute video, former Finance Minister of Greece Yanis Varoufakis recounts the exchange between himself and Wolfgang Schauble, the Finance Minister of Germany, during the peak of the financial crisis (around 2015) when Schauble was demanding Varoufakis to sign the “Memorandum of Understanding”.  After a short exchange about the difficult situation, Varoufakis asks Schauble to forget for a moment where they both were at the moment and think and answer a simple question: “If you were in my place, would you sign this?”  After two very long minutes of deep thought Wolfang Schauble answered: “Not As A Patriot!!”
