Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople bears personal responsibility for the persecution of believers in Ukraine, the Holy Synod said in a statement published on the website of the Russian Orthodox Church. “The schismatic leadership recognized by the Phanar called with particular fury for the adoption of a law to effectively ban the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and Patriarch Bartholomew, who had previously publicly approved the criminal prosecution and arrests of its hierarchs and clergy, openly supported the actions of the state authorities”.

On August 20, the Ukrainian parliament passed a law allowing the banning of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church… in Ukraine. The document becomes effective 30 days from the date of publication. Zelensky emphasized that in a telephone conversation with the Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew, he told him about the new law and according to the Ukrainian President, the Ecumenical Patriarch “assessed positively” Ukraine’s attitude.
In October 2023, the Ukrainian parliament approved in the first reading the bill no. 8371 “On the inadmissibility of the activities of religious organizations connected with the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine.” According to the draft, only one structure is subject to this rule – the regular UOC, the largest religious organization in the country in terms of the number of followers, churches and clergy.
The enacted law reads… “For the protection of the constitutional order in the field of activities of religious organizations”, although the essence remained the same.
The bill began to be debated at the end of July 2024, when a group of deputies blocked the floor at a plenary session of the Ukrainian parliament demanding immediate approval of the project.
The UOC has repeatedly stated that the bill violates the Constitution of Ukraine and the Convention on Human Rights. European theologians condemned it, saying that it “is repressive in nature.” The US State Department drew attention, sharply criticizing the bill.
In fact, even Pope Francis of the Catholic Church opposes the ban on the canonical Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The Ukrainian authorities organized the largest wave of persecution of the UOC in the country’s modern history.
Citing its connection to Russia, local authorities in various regions announced a ban on the church’s activities. The authorities imposed sanctions against some representatives of the clergy, and the SBU began to open criminal cases against them.
In addition, bishops and priests, churches and monasteries are being searched for evidence of “anti-Ukrainian activities”.
Russia is anti-LGBT and pro-Orthodoxy

But what is Ukraine fighting by adopting a law that bans not only the Russian, but also the Ukrainian Orthodox Church? With God, with Russia, with herself? The law approved by the Ukrainian parliament is aimed at “protecting the constitutional order in the sphere of activity of religious organizations” or, in Zelensky’s words, “the spiritual liberation of Ukraine.”
The law allows religious organizations (denominations in general or individual communities) to be banned if their connection to the attacking country, i.e. Russia, is proven. Not with Putin and not even with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, but simply with the Russian Orthodox Church. But the paradox is that after February 2022, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church already removed from its name its connection with the Moscow Patriarchate, which, however, did not save it from repression. That is, now in Ukraine legally there is no branch of the “Moscow church” – there is a self-governing, autonomous Orthodox Church, which includes the majority of Ukrainian Orthodox Christians.
And of course there is the so-called Orthodox Church of Ukraine, which was created in 2018 by the decision of the Patriarch of Constantinople. But for six years, neither priests nor parishioners have appeared in parishes and churches. In addition, the adoption of this law has already provoked criticism even from individual Western politicians, for example, Trump’s vice-presidential candidate, J.D. Vance.

Να σημειωθεί ότι υπάρχει φυσικά η λεγόμενη Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία της Ουκρανίας, που δημιουργήθηκε το 2018 με απόφαση του Πατριάρχη Κωνσταντινουπόλεως.
Αλλά εδώ και έξι χρόνια, ούτε ιερείς ούτε ενορίτες… πλησιάζουν την Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία της Ουκρανίας.
Την ώρα που ΗΠΑ, Βατικανό και άλλοι είναι αντίθετοι… ο Βαρθολομαίος… εμφανίζεται να συμφωνεί με τα παράνομα σχέδια Zelensky.
Ο Πατριάρχης Κωνσταντινουπόλεως Βαρθολομαίος φέρει προσωπική ευθύνη για τη δίωξη των πιστών στην Ουκρανία, ανέφερε η Ιερά Σύνοδος σε ανακοίνωση που δημοσιεύτηκε στον ιστότοπο της Ρωσικής Ορθόδοξης Εκκλησίας.
«Η ηγεσία των σχισματικών που αναγνωρίστηκε από το Φανάρι ζήτησε με ιδιαίτερη μανία την υιοθέτηση νόμου για την πραγματική απαγόρευση της Ουκρανικής Ορθόδοξης Εκκλησίας και ο Πατριάρχης Βαρθολομαίος, ο οποίος είχε προηγουμένως εγκρίνει δημόσια την ποινική δίωξη και τις συλλήψεις των ιεραρχών και των κληρικών της, όπως οι αρχιερείς Άννα και Καϊάφας, υποστήριξαν ανοιχτά τις ενέργειες των κρατικών αρχών».
Στην ανακοίνωση τονίζεται ότι στόχος των αρχών είναι να καταστρέψουν την κανονική εκκλησία στην Ουκρανία.
Στις 20 Αυγούστου, το ουκρανικό κοινοβούλιο ψήφισε νόμο που επιτρέπει την απαγόρευση της Ορθόδοξης Εκκλησίας της Ουκρανίας… στην Ουκρανία.
Το έγγραφο τίθεται σε ισχύ 30 ημέρες από την ημερομηνία δημοσίευσης.
Ο Zelensky τόνισε ότι σε τηλεφωνική συνομιλία με τον Πατριάρχη Κωνσταντινουπόλεως Βαρθολομαίο, του ανέφερε για τον νέο νόμο και σύμφωνα με τον Ουκρανό Πρόεδρο ο Οικουμενικός Πατριάρχης «αξιολόγησε θετικά» την στάση της Ουκρανίας.
Τον Οκτώβριο του 2023, το ουκρανικό κοινοβούλιο ενέκρινε σε πρώτη ανάγνωση το νομοσχέδιο αριθ. 8371 «Σχετικά με το απαράδεκτο των δραστηριοτήτων θρησκευτικών οργανώσεων που συνδέονται με τη Ρωσική Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία στην Ουκρανία».
Όπως προκύπτει από το προσχέδιο, μόνο μία δομή υπόκειται σε αυτόν τον κανόνα – η κανονική UOC, η μεγαλύτερη θρησκευτική οργάνωση στη χώρα όσον αφορά τον αριθμό των οπαδών, των εκκλησιών και των κληρικών.
Ο νόμος που θεσπίστηκε αναφέρει… «Για την προστασία της συνταγματικής τάξης στον τομέα των δραστηριοτήτων των θρησκευτικών οργανώσεων», αν και η ουσία παρέμεινε η ίδια.
Το νομοσχέδιο άρχισε να συζητείται στα τέλη Ιουλίου 2024, όταν μια ομάδα βουλευτών απέκλεισε το βήμα στη συνεδρίαση της ολομέλειας του Ουκρανικού κοινοβουλίου απαιτώντας την άμεση έγκριση του έργου.
Η UOC έχει επανειλημμένα δηλώσει ότι το νομοσχέδιο παραβιάζει το Σύνταγμα της Ουκρανίας και τη Σύμβαση Ανθρωπίνων Δικαιωμάτων.
Οι Ευρωπαίοι θεολόγοι το καταδίκασαν, λέγοντας ότι «είναι κατασταλτικού χαρακτήρα».
Το Υπουργείο Εξωτερικών των ΗΠΑ επέστησε την προσοχή, ασκώντας δριμεία κριτική στο νομοσχέδιο.
Μάλιστα και ο Πάπας Φραγκίσκος της Καθολικής Εκκλησίας αντιτίθεται στην απαγόρευση της κανονικής Ορθόδοξης Εκκλησίας της Ουκρανίας.
Οι ουκρανικές αρχές οργάνωσαν το μεγαλύτερο κύμα δίωξης του UOC στη σύγχρονη ιστορία της χώρας.
Επικαλούμενη τη σύνδεσή της με τη Ρωσία, οι τοπικές αρχές σε διάφορες περιοχές ανακοίνωσαν απαγόρευση των δραστηριοτήτων της εκκλησίας.
Οι αρχές επέβαλαν κυρώσεις εναντίον ορισμένων εκπροσώπων του κλήρου και η SBU άρχισε να ανοίγει ποινικές υποθέσεις εναντίον τους.
Επιπλέον, πραγματοποιούνται έρευνες σε επισκόπους και ιερείς, σε εκκλησίες και μοναστήρια για αναζήτηση στοιχείων για «αντιουκρανικές δραστηριότητες».
Η Ρωσία κατά του LGBT και υπέρ της ορθοδοξίας
Όταν το «διεθνές κοινωνικό κίνημα LGBT» αναγνωρίστηκε ως εξτρεμιστικό στη Ρωσία το 2023, η αγανάκτηση της Δύσης και του φιλελεύθερου κοινού δεν είχε όρια: το ολοκληρωτικό καθεστώς έχει τρελαθεί τελείως έλεγαν για τον Putin…
Πράγματι, επίσημα δεν υπάρχει «World League for Sexual Reform», αλλά υπάρχουν… υποχρεώσεις της κυβέρνησης των ΗΠΑ όχι μόνο να προστατεύει τα δικαιώματα των σεξουαλικών μειονοτήτων σε όλο τον κόσμο, αλλά και να τιμωρεί τις χώρες που παραβιάζουν τα LGBT άτομα.
Η Ρωσία λοιπόν δεν μάχεται ενάντια στις φαντασιώσεις, αλλά ενάντια στις πολύ συγκεκριμένες πολιτικές των παγκοσμιοποιητών.
Αλλά με τι παλεύει η Ουκρανία υιοθετώντας έναν νόμο που απαγορεύει όχι μόνο τη Ρωσική, αλλά και την Ουκρανική Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία;
Με τον Θεό, με τη Ρωσία, με τον εαυτό της;
Ο νόμος που εγκρίθηκε από το Ουκρανικό κοινοβούλιο αποσκοπεί στην «προστασία της συνταγματικής τάξης στη σφαίρα δραστηριότητας των θρησκευτικών οργανώσεων» ή, σύμφωνα με τα λόγια του Zelensky, στην «πνευματική απελευθέρωση της Ουκρανίας».
Ο νόμος επιτρέπει την απαγόρευση θρησκευτικών οργανώσεων (ομολογιών γενικά ή μεμονωμένες κοινότητες) εάν αποδεικνύεται η σύνδεσή τους με την επιτιθέμενη χώρα, δηλαδή με τη Ρωσία.
Όχι με τον Putin και ούτε καν με τον Πατριάρχη Μόσχας και πάσης Ρωσίας Κύριλλο, αλλά απλώς με τη Ρωσική Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία.
Αλλά το παράδοξο είναι ότι μετά τον Φεβρουάριο του 2022, η Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία της Ουκρανίας αφαίρεσε ήδη από το όνομά της τη σχέση της με το Πατριαρχείο Μόσχας, κάτι που, ωστόσο, δεν την έσωσε από την καταστολή.
Δηλαδή, τώρα στην Ουκρανία δεν υπάρχει νομικά κλάδος της «εκκλησίας της Μόσχας» – υπάρχει μια αυτοδιοικούμενη, αυτόνομη Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία, η οποία περιλαμβάνει την πλειοψηφία των Ουκρανών Ορθοδόξων Χριστιανών.
Και υπάρχει φυσικά η λεγόμενη Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία της Ουκρανίας, που δημιουργήθηκε το 2018 με απόφαση του Πατριάρχη Κωνσταντινουπόλεως.
Αλλά εδώ και έξι χρόνια, ούτε ιερείς ούτε ενορίτες έχουν εμφανιστεί στις ενορίες και στις εκκλησίες.
Επιπλέον, η υιοθέτηση αυτού του νόμου έχει ήδη προκαλέσει κριτική ακόμη και από μεμονωμένους δυτικούς πολιτικούς, για παράδειγμα, τον υποψήφιο αντιπρόεδρο του Trump, J.D. Vance.
