EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis): If there is any gesture that we Greeks hate with a passion is the Islamic/Turkish custom of hand-kissing, where an “authority/power differentiation” is always present.  Yes, my friends the origins of this custom are Islamic/Turkish and have nothing to do with the western romance etiquette of kissing the hand of a lady. Karloutsos has been practicing not only hand-kissing but all forms and degrees of flattery to brown-nosing for the longest time – and when he leaves this world this will be left as his most memorable achievement…

Our main photo today was from the infamous visit of “Godfather”, then Governor of NY, Andrew Cuomo to the GOA 79th Street headquarters in early January 2020. It had mysteriously escaped the stream of photos we all had seen then – but landed yesterday in our “inbox”, sent from one member of the resistance batallion that voluntarily supports Helleniscope all over the country and actually all over the world. We all remember seeing Cuomo kissing AB Elpidophoros hand, a gesture naturally showing respect:

But somehow we have never seen this photo… Amazing!!

Yes, all three (AB Elpidophoros, Cuomo, and Rick Cotton) are laughing but this is no laughing matter at all… When Karloutsos practices this “reverence” Islamic / Turkish custom he brings back all the wrong memories and connotations from 400 years of slavery to the Ottomans… It’s not simply reverencing a superior authority – it’s slavish subjugation… As in the following instance, where the globalist “Ecumenists” of the Patriarchate have long decided to subject themselves and Orthodoxy to the Pope in exchange for (what else?) an annual stipend of God knows how many $$ millions…

Not to mention the even more painful connotations with the “Mafia” customs – much more likely connection in our case…

Clemenza (Richard Castellano) kisses the hand of the new “Godfather”, Michael Corleone (Al Pacino), in the last scene of The Godfather.

Well, if one has received, like Karloutsos has from Cuomo, two sinecure positions (Chaplain of Port Authority and Stony Brook Trustee) awarding him hundreds of thousands annually with one (maybe) appearance monthly, then hand-kissing and everything-else-kissing symbolism become crystal clear… Yes, the mafia hand-kissing is prevalent not only in Italy but in modern Greece where we have heard numerous reports of kissing the hand of the late PM of Greece Konstantinos Mitsotakis, known to have about 8-10,000 godchildren, mostly on the island of Crete…

To close, does anyone wonder why we never call Karloutsos “Father”?

  1. Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

And at once Jesus gave them permission. Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine (there were about two thousand); and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and drowned in the sea.
    Mark 5-13 NKJV

    • I do not know about the Turkish connection to hand kissing but kissing the priest’s hand shows a reverence for the office– after all the priest touches many holy items. What Karloutsos is doing is showing a perverse disrespect of the faith! He is mocking Christ! As for Cuomo kissing the hand of Elpidoforos – words fail. Disgusting.

  2. BARF and gag me Sisters and Brothers in Christ Jesus, for thine is the butt kissing of false prophets and capital cronyism. They justly deserve each other. May God’s wrath fall upon them all just as it did with Judas.

  3. Gross!
Seeing the infamous Prince of Darkness himself Alex Karloutsos kissing hand of “Evil Eyes Andrew Cuomo” makes one truly vomit spiritually and intellectually to the point of wanting to protest outside 79th Street Archdiocese that we want our church back from these hoodlums

  4. To kiss the hand of the priest is respect But we do not kiss another man’s hand unless u related ( not by corruption). This is feudal subservience.

Re getting yr church back. Will there be one to take back at the rate the customers are leaving.

  5. Father or “Abba” is reserved for those who bring you Christ.

I think we ought to just drop the pretense of “Father” Alex at this point.

What Alex has brought us is not Christ–but division, prideful deceit, disillusion, dishonor, and destruction.

He must be avoided like you would avoid sin.

  6. Time to cancel addressing Fr. Alex
    a most impure religious leader
“Father” – it’s just ludicrous & ruins the credibility of the genuine priests.

  7. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
    Ephesians 6:12 NIV
